Mike smiled and followed close behind Jacko. Lorna groaned under her breath, just knowing that this couldn't be a good idea. Sighing in defeat, she followed the two men, wishing she wasn't about to do whatever the hell it was she was about to do.

Two Words says the cost will be one of our souls, she thought, mentally grumbling. They reached the booth and sat down, Mike eagerly waiting to hear what Jacko would say.

Lorna's last thought before she turned her full attention on the bar owner was, I am going to plot a nice, neat little revenge that involves Mike hanging naked from a light post. Then, while he struggles wildly, I'll laugh. I'll laugh really, really hard.

The greasy-haired bar owner leaned over with a large grin on his face, showing places where teeth were missing. He presented a pamphlet that had nothing to do with wine and pointed to it. His voice, however, had no happy tone about it. In fact, it was irritated.
"Look, boy, I dunno who ya think ya areor who taught ya, but that ain't the way ya find things out, ya hear? If one of them blokes heard ya, they'd be out here in a heart beat and gunnin' ya down. Ya gots ta be real inconspicuous like, ya know what I mean?" Jacko's shifty eyes glanced around the room, apparently finding nothing amiss before returning to the pair before him. "Ya know who them is? They are Searchers them are, and they mean business. Now, ya dont want none of thems business do ya??" Jacko peered at the two, almost wishing they still wanted to purchase his valuable services, but knowing that these youngsters may not be the best of clients.

Lorna smirked, satisfied that Mike was now sufficiently cowed, and that they could go away, far far away, from whatever evils were lurking behind that back room door. Mike had said nothing, and seemed to be deep in thought.

Suddenly Lorna thought of those people that had been killed in last night's Revolution Raid. And it dawned on her that these people were no different. In fact, they were probably worse. Because at least the Revolutionists thought they were protecting someone. She knew what the evolutionists believed, and she didn't like it.

Mike seemed about to speak when Lorna put her hand in front of him, taking control of the situation.

"What exactly can you do for us, and what will it cost?" Hell, even if she didn't dare try to take these guys on by herself, she knew someone she could give the information to. Any Revolutionist would just LOVE to have this kind of information, and Lorna, though she hated them, would gladly give it to them just so that the two factions could kill each other, and leave her and the Arcana Sanctum to do what they originally set out to do.

"Oh? Fiesty are ya? Well girlie. I dunno what them is talking about 'cept that its real important like to them kind. But I can tell ya who knows and how ta find 'em. I'll need something though...something nice, expensive and preferabkly...ah...untracable." Jacko grinned toothlessly yet again as his business instinct kicked in again.

Mike's expression slowly changed from shock to pride as he saw his 'baby sister' dealing with some slimeball to get information.

Lorna smirked at the word, "feisty". After hearing Jacko's proposal, she thought for a minute, unsure of what she could provide that fit those descriptions. She'd never done this before, and certainly wasn't good at it!

Her first thought was jewelery, as she had some heirloom peices that had been passed down from generation to generation. She wished she could ask Mike what to do, as he had surely done something this crazy before.

"Like an engagement ring from two hundred years ago, with huge diamonds and almost pure gold?" She hoped that was enough, cause she certainly didn't know what in the world she could offer that was anywhere near as priceless as that. Mike hid his surprise well, though he felt concerned that Lorna was offering up her most treasured and priceless peice of jewelery for some information. however, the look of determination in her eyes stopped him from making a comment. If she wanted to go through with this, she would.

"My dear! You must be a natural. I can get you quite the something from the sound of it. But first the ring!" Jacko opened his hand expectantly, the other drawing the curtain closed behind him. "I like to see the currency before I give you the merchindise. This is, after all, a bar and not a resteraunt." Jacko's grin was much more friendly now that wealth was involved.

Lorna blushed. Even she, a rough-and-tumble girl, was not completely immune to flattery.

She pulled a long necklace out from under her shirt, where the ring hung. Silently saying goodbye, she unclasped the necklace and handed over the ring. She had worn it around her neck for almost a decade, and saying goodbye was hard. Somehow, though, she knew it would be worth it in the end.

The ring had a large, faceted diamond in the center, and three smaller diamonds on each side. It was set in an almost Victorian style, and looked very elegant, made to be worn over gloves by noblewomen. She had no idea where it had come from. Someone in her ancestry must have been of noble blood, or else married a prince!

"Here's the ring," she said, holding it out towards Jacko. She thanked the Ancient Word Bearers that she had never placed it in a bank, though her mother had suggested it many times. Mike was dumbfounded, and yet still proud. What a crazy, impulsive young woman Lorna was turning out to be!

"This place is is perfectly fine for my needs." It irrated him how she would dodge all of his questions, but not enough to make him quit. Jimmy amused himself with this new puzzle: why wouldn't she even give him her name? It wasn't like he asked about the color of her underwear!

"Yes, I'm just looking for a good drink or two, interesting people...and maybe the occasional gossip about Words, of course." He wasn't a master of tact, but he wanted to get some reaction, other than amusement, out of the woman. Definitely not the wisest of moves, considering he was getting a little tipsy. "I've always been of the opinion that Words are meant to be shared, well, I suppose my whole faction believes that too. Hah! Sharing is caring, right miss?"

((Will Jimmy live to see page two of this thread? Stay tuned!))

Minya started at his mention of Words. She looked at him carefully, her mood entirley different now. Maybe what she had been waiting for had strolled up to her all on his own. "Words? Your part of a faction? Interesting. I suppose your here to share with me, then?" She leaned forward, no longer glancing about. "And what am I spposed to share in return?" Her nerves were making her edgier and if he wasyanking her chain, she was going to teach him a lesson. She did her best to stay serious and calm, her eyes focused, her mouth set.

Jacko grinned as he palmed the ring. "Right, you two stay here. And dont draw anybodys attention" Jackos last comment seemed directed at the boy. He stepped back, snapped the panphlet shut and pulled the curtain closed. He walked away, disappearing behind his counter.

The phrase 'You show me yours and I'll show you mine' floated in his mind, and while Jimmy wouldn't actually say that to a lady, he was thinking that general idea. Regarding Words, that is.

"I'm interested in one thing, lady: Words. If you've got one, or a good lead on one, I think we can arrange something." Jimmy smiled, happy to be enjoying her full attention for a change and completely blind to the woman's masked tension. "Although I'm not sure if I should give the Word I learned to a lady unwilling to even give her name..."

"I am Minya. And while I don't need Words, Jimmy, I am looking for someone who uses them. A very speific someone. As to what I have in exchange, there are some things in my possesion I am sure would be useful to you. If you know who I am looking for that is, if you can help me first." She leaned in close, lowering her voice as she spoke. She was taking a big risk, and she had to be careful. "I am looking for a woman, who is part of the Horde."

Mike pouted. "What, does he think I don't know how to be inconspicuous?" he whispered.

Lorna gave him a Look, trying not to smile as she did so.

"Oh..." Mike tried to protest. "I can manage to not draw attention!"

Lorna gave him another Look. "Then shut up and prove it!" she whispered harshly, at which point Mike went back to pouting.

Lorna was waiting, practically scared out of her mind. She didn't know what to expect, and was terrified that it wouldn't be worth it. Or that something would go wrong, and she'd end up dead over some silly piece of information.

She really hoped it wouldn't come down to that.

It took some time, but the back door finally opened and the Searchers came out. With all the silent iron-cold look with which they had entered, they departed. A few moments later, a small man sauntered out of the back room and talked to Jacko. The Germ pointed to the curtain and had the man go there. The curtian parted allowing him in. He was only 5 and a half feet tall with straight blonde hair and a face that looked as if a hippo had tap danced on it. He wore a bulky jumpsuit and had grease all over it and his exposed skin. A cap was shoved haphazardly onto his head. His hard-faced stare sized up the two people sitting with him in silence.
"So!" The man practically gasped in a rasping voice that somehow seemed to belong to someone else. "Waddya want?" The man said, looking from one to the other with dull green eyes.

"That's a bit general, Miss Minya." Jimmy responding, mirroring her low tone. "But I've met a good deal of people, so who knows. Do you know her name?"

Okay, he was really interested now. Even if this Minya only had a piece of gum to offer Jimmy in return, he curious to see where this was all going. Who in his guild could this woman be looking for?

"Marlena. That's all I was told. I have something for her, something important." Minya managed to keep her voice low and calm. She had something for the woman who had lured her brother and her into a trap. A very slow death, just like Shilah's. Once the proper information was obtained, of course. Until she came face to face with her, though, she would act like a messenger of sorts. It was risky, but this boy before her she knew she could handle. Later on . . . She would change tactics, is all.
