Angel walked into the Great Hall. Upon seeing the redecorated hall, she clasped her hands together in total awe. It was absolutely gorgeous. She marvelled at all the amazing decorations. Secretly, she was just thrilled to attend because it meant not having to attend the Christmas Party that was thrown for younger years. She had enjoyed those parties her first and second year, but it was a bit odd to be there as a fourth year just because of the first years.
Angel had taken care today to dress nicely. Her father had warned her that her crazy accessories would not be tolerated quite as much as when classes were in session, so she'd either have to switch to something more elegant, or go without accesories. Not wanting to be kicked out, she complied, though it still felt weird to be so...normal.
Her dress was a deep violet color with yellow and black butterflies adorning the bottom, making a fading trail that went all the way up to her waist. The dress was spaghetti-strapped. Her shoes underneath were black. Her hair had been torture, but she'd finally managed to get it pulled up into a bun, with tendrils hanging off from it just so. Her only accessory was a yellow and black butterfly pendant around her neck, to match the butterflies on her dress.
As her eyes looked around the room, they fell upon the food table, particularly the punch bowl, making her realize that she was thirsty. She walked over to it and proceeded to pour herself a glass of punch.

After a few moments of standing akwardly in the middle of the crowd, Joseph worked his way towards the food table. By the time he'd made it there, he had elbowed plenty dancing couples and had apologized far more than his whole life combined.
He freed his hands from his pockets to grab a cup of punch. After pouring the punch in the cup, he looked up at a girl he'd never seen before. A toothy grin over came his face as he looked at the beautiful red hair. His eyes followed the dress, noticing every small detail. He wondered how he manged to never see her.
He took a sip of his punch, surprised by how well it was made. He ruffled a hand through his own copper hair, and let his hand rest on the back of his hand as he couldnt' help but stare at the girl in the forest green dress. He knew stairing was rude, yet he couldn't avert his eyes. He slowly lifted the glass and took another sip of punch, trying to watch her over the rim of his glass.

More and more people began to enter the Great Hall but Amelia wasn't really paying attention until a boy with a wonderful sense of humor walked up to her. "JOEL!" Amelia smiled the brightest and widest smile she ever smiled. Responding to what he said earlier about her looking ravishingly she replied, "Well thank you. You don't look too bad yourself." Amelia hadn't seen Joel since the first day of school, which was a downright shock since everyone had lunch at the same time and there was always the common room but yet he hadn't been around. "So where have you been handsome? Haven't seen you around much lately." ......

Why had she even come? To embaress herself? She did that everyday, why do it again in front of hundreds of people?
"Go." her mother, Selene, urged over her two-way. "Enjoy yourself. You'll have fun, and there might not be another chance to go, Jojo. Please. Go."
Oh, right. Thats why she was here. Beautiful girls and their dates pushed past her, entering the lavishly decorated Great Hall. It was absolutely exquistite! Jo looked down at the white marble floor beneath her. She looked directly at he reflection of herself, not exactly liking what she saw. She tugged at the top of her strapless peach colored gown, trying to prevent her breasts from spilling out in som horrible wardrobe malfunction. Jo looked up and started for the hall full of dancing students and professors. Her chest pounded and her under arms perspired as she entered the hall. Now if she could just make it to a single table without tripping on her dress. All would be--too late! Jo stumbled on her long dress, catching the eye of some dancing students. Jo gave a nervous smile, picked up her dress, and walked cauiously to a crystal table where she waited for the night to end.

((Sorry for the slow, I got dragged to snow bound misery for a week.)) Mel turned, and beamed at 'Cella. "Cella! You look wonderful!" She looked her over, with a beaming smile, then leaned in "It's wonderful but I bet you'd be more comfortable in one of Mother's creations. I keep telling you... Mom would LOVE to dress you up. She loves having new people to create for. It makes her so excited, so happy!" She leans back, hoping 'Cella would understand that was meant exactly as she said it, for it was true. Her mother found no better inspiration then a new person to create for. She tilted her head, looking at all the of the other guests, noting who seemed shy, and who seemed comfortable. After a minute, she picked her first 'victim'. She'd decided, as the Head Girl, it was her duty to try to make everyone feel as welcome as possible, since she had no one, at this time, she felt a pull towards. She leans in and murmurs to 'Cella "Mmmm let's go see if we can't make others feel comfortable. It's Christmas and all, we can make a gift of being nice. And it'll confuse people who go 'Oh. Slytherins. Evil!' I love confusing them. If you don't want to, I understand... I need to be a good little Head Girl, however... So if you care to join me, I think I've found who my first target will be." She moved off, her sleeves swishing slightly, the light catching one of the purple highlights in her hair, as she passed Joseph, and gave him a warm smile. "Hello, Joseph!" She kept moving, however. She suspected he'd be confused, but she'd gone out of her way to learn who people were, and had at least the 4-7th years down. She passed the group with Amelia, Damian, and Joel, greeting them with similar warm, friendliness. She headed, however, for Jo, at the door. "Hello, Josephina!" She beamed, in a friendly way, at her. "We haven't really met, I'm Mellisane Volonté." She held out her hand to shake. "7th year, Slytherin, head girl. All that jazz. Whatever! I just thought you looked lonely, so I figured I'd come say hi!"

Jo watched as a straight haired girl walked in her direction. She was probably smirking at one of her friends behind her. When the girl reached her and waved and introduced herself, Jo knew she must be talking to a namesake of herself, but the girl Jo now knew as Mellisane Volonté didn't leave.
"Um...hi? I mean...hello, Mellisane. I'm Josie, but you already know that since you've said my name...and uh..." she blubbered.
She wanted to leave the dance and run back to Ravenclaw tower, cowering like a scared child. But she'd already said too much, she'd already said enough to get a convorsation going. And unless on of Mellisane's friends came over to confront her about talking to Joise, the fat girl, she was stuck.

Louise slid her eyes over the whole room, looking for someone to socialize with. A group of three seventh-years, two other seventh-years talking to a sturdy fifth year who looked very nervous. The bulky girl reminded her of another fifth year she'd seen around, usually in the library. Louise smiled, finally deciding to glide over to another sturdy girl swaying by herself in time to the music on the dance floor, this time a Hufflepuff. "Hello," she said with traces of her slight Spanish accent marking themselves on her vowels. "You're Anasazi, right? I'm Louise."
Anasazi stopped dead in her tracks at a pretty accented voice directed at her. She sucked in her cheeks and crossed her arms subconsciously in front of her body to cover herself. This girl, a Ravenclaw, she thought, was unbelievably pretty and about her same height, though almost certainly a year or two above her. "Right." She barely restrained herself from snapping, "Why are you talking to me?" She pursed her lips and fidgeted a little bit. Her eyes focused on a girl, she thought also a fifth year but probably Ravenclaw, looking as nervous as she felt. "Isn't her name Josie?" she asked inadvertently. Anasazi was never up to playing the hero, and would much rather be left out of anything, but Josie looked like she'd be in the same boat as Anasazi.

Joseph's ears perked at the sound of his name and turned to see a the Slytherin headgirl. He'd never talked to her, yet he raised his hand in a cofused manner. "Hey." He said quietly, before noticing she was gone. His eyes followed when she finally spoke to a girl in a peach dress. Saliva filled his mouth as he had forgotten to swallow. He felt like a pig, yet he knew it was only due to be surround by new people. The weight of his book calmed him down slightly.
He tried to listen to their conversation. Josephina. He laughed, not knowing if it was her real name, but at how similar his and her name was. Stupid, he knew, but yet he couldn't hide the laugh. Slowly, he took another drink of his punch. Though picking it off the table was easy, putting it back wasn't. Joseph was hit in the arm by a dancing couple, making his drink fall onto the floor. Quickly, Joseph's face turned a bright scarlet as he tried to find napkins to clean it up. "Luck o' the Irish." He muttered in his harsh accent, making it almost impossible to understand. At last, he found napkins. Of course, they hardly cleaned any of the mess.

Seeing the boy next to her accidentally drop his drink, Angel grabbed a few napkins and helped him clean up the mess. The good news was that the cup hadn't been completely full, but there was still a fair amount of punch to clean up. Angel helped soak up as much of the mess as she could until the floor was dry, though there was a slight bit of residual red left on the stone floor.
'Oh well. At least no one will slip on it.' she thought.
Looking at the boy who dropped the cup, she was surprised to see that it was Joseph.

Ascella couldn't help but smile at her friend. Mell was rather close to Ascella, and even though they were worlds apart, Figuratively speaking, since the only physical feature they shared was pale skin. However, they were both french, so that kind of worked well. "I would love to have your mother 'dress me up' I always love fine clothing. However, I had to wear this dress once, since it was a gift from my sister, her new husband, and my nephew." Picking up the front of her pale blue gown, Ascella followed her friend, trying not to trip over her own gown. Her fear of falling yet again was shown brightly on her face, since she could hardly keep her eyes off her feet. She had on Silver high heels, something she was always comfortable wearing, but these were taller shoes than normal, and it made her frame rise from a simple 5'1" to a towering 5'5". Alright, it was only towering if you were used to her previous height. With a smile, she followed her friend, trying to keep her spirits high, even though the person she wanted there wasn't anywhere to be found. At each person they said hello to, she just smiled and nodded, giving an almost platonic expression to each and every person they passed.

Placing his hand on his chin as he thought of what beck would say if she caught him 'flirting' with Damian, Peter got a rather evil grin. "She would probably ask if I had officially come out of the closet. Laugh, and...Well, Either punch me in the shoulder, or punch you in the shoulder for trying to take me away from her. Though, I think that last part was something I would want, not something she would do..." With a guilty smile, Peter turned his head at the sound of a small voice. It was Eloise. "Why hello Eloise, that dress makes you look like a Roman goddess. Though, where is your roman god. Or shall I say Nordic?" Of course Peter was joking at that last part, but he really did want to know why Nicodemus wasn't there. Or, if he was there, maybe he was just sulking in the corner for some reason, since if he was standing up he could see him easliy. "Well, I think I'm going to say hello to some people, just...Not that you guys aren't fun, but I would love to get a date. Even if it is abnormally last minute." With a wink, Peter walked over to the punch bowl. Not seeing anyone he knew, he overcame the intense urge to dunk his head in the punch bowl. I would so, so love to do something like that, but I think I would much rather spike it, though, I think the younger ones wouldn't be all that happy with me. Peters eyes scoured the room, looking for potential, pretty girls he could ask, though, the only one he really wanted to go with was Beck, and she wasn't there.

Joel couldn't help but grin at the beautiful Amelia as she said his name. There was a certain ring with the way she said it, that made him just beam with happieness. "Why thank you. I thought that I would incorporate my house colors in my clothes, what, with the bronze buttons. But alas, it didn't look as good with the black as it would with white robes...Wait..." Pulling out his want, Joel muttered a spell and the colors of his dress robes magically turned from black, to white, making the bronze buttons stand out far more that before. The white robes suited him far better than the black. "Oh....About not seeing me...Well..." With a sigh, Joel leaned against the table, trying to stay in good spirits. "My mum died last month, and I have been trying my hardest to keep up. Though, trying to keep the bed and breakfast, when no one is running it is hard. Thank goodness my mum had good friends, and the staff there have been very supportive. Don't feel sorry for me though. It was her time, and she wasn't herself anymore. The cancer had eaten away at her body for so long, it was quickly munching on her soul." In a strange way, his words sounded slightly poetic, though depressing at the same time. Joel almost sounded relieved as he spoke, his eyes at the fake snowfall coming from the ceiling. In a split instant, Joel was up, smiling at Amelia like he had never before. I need to smile. Desperately. It's all I have, and all I need. I can live off of smiles. Smiles mean good first impressions, Smiles mean good reputations. Smiles....Means doped up on drugs. Laughing at his own thoughts, Joel kissed Amelia on the cheek, and looked directly into her eyes. "Amelia, my apologies, but I must go entertain some of the other ladies. They might get jealous if you get all of the attention." With a small bow, Joel backed away from Amelia and made his way towards another group of people.
-----------------------------------
Seeing a small group of people, Including a lovely looking blond, a tall dark haired girl who was head girl, and a smaller, slightly chubby girl, Joel couldn't help but walk over there. His grin was from ear to ear, almost painful as he examined the fair skinned beauties. Putting his arm around the shoulder of the larger girl, Joel leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. "Why Josie! Have you been hiding from me all this time. You naughty girl." With a wink, Joel looked at the other blond, who was obviously having trouble walking in those tall shoes. The best part of being me, is that everyone in Ravenclaw knows me. And I love everyone. They're all so nice. Hopefully Sezer and Vlaityn will show up, but..Well, I really am not sure at this point. After a few moments, Joel realized that me must be making Josie feel uncomfortable, and he removed his arm from around her shoulders, trying to be as smooth and nonchalant about everything.

Xurdion woke in the Ravenclaw common room, he had been in his own little world for the past few days but he wasn't going to miss the dance. He quickly jumped out of bed, his heart was racing and his hands had cold sweat forming on the palms. He quickly bit his lower lip and started to look around the room frantically for his dress robes. "Nobody woke me up, eh? Peachy...Those blights will get theirs when school starts again." Eventually he found them, exactly where he knew they would be. "Sodding hell..." He muttered as he pulled his dress robes out of hte chair in the common room. "I need to get some sort of organization thing going on for myself." He quickly changed into them, they were rather itchy because they were in the attic when he got them. He looked at himself in the common room mirror, he thought he looked rather nice. "Or, better than usual." His hair was still rather messed up but he kept it because he didn't need to worry about things like this. "Men don't need to worry about hair." He thought as he rushed out of the common room and began his journey downstairs. Everyone was gone, or so it seemed, only the first, second, and third years were wandering about. Or, what was left of them, most had gone home to their families. "Sodding hell, sodding hell, sodding hell." He muttered all the way down to the Great Hall. He pushed through the crowd and looked around to find his friends, he saw them but he was rather thirsty so he went over to the punch and poured himself a cup. He took a sip before heading over to Joseph, he saw him cleaning up a mess on the dancefloor, he sighed, half out of anger and half out of pity. He continued to walk over before he stealthily(if that's a word) pulled out his wand. "Tergeo." He muttered as he put his wand away, the napkins and the punch were gone. Now that his pity was gone, all that was left was his anger. "Hey, mate. What the sodding hell? You were supposed to wake me." He said, gritting his teeth and crossing his arms.

Anasazi looked carefully at Louise. She really was pretty. "What year are you?" she asked, trying to put her in a box. She sighed with a trace of envy as a very good-looking boy, probably seventh year, wrapped his arm around the girl's (Josie?) shoulders. It was proof that girls like her and Josie could get guys eventually. It just might take a little longer, compared to girls like Ascella and Mellisande, who were also over in that group. Half the students at Hogwarts were bisexual; surely there was someone who'd find her.
Louise seemed to know everybody and everything, and she knew it, too. That irked Anasazi a little bit. However, she wouldn’t start anything. A flare of anger appeared inside her, and she felt her face getting hot, the familiar warmth creeping up her neck into her cheeks. "Why are you talking to me?" I was fine by myself. Anasazi turned back to Louise and stared her in the face.
"Fifth," Louise responded, following Anasazi's gaze with her eyes. Oh. Now she understood. She was making the Hufflepuff nervous because she saw almost the same thing over in the other group. She leaned closer to Anasazi. "His name is Joel Callendente. He’s a seventh year, also a Ravenclaw." Even if she didn’t think so, Louise knew exactly what Anasazi was feeling. She repelled people faster than a nest of angry Bowtruckles would. Now it was her turn to sigh. "Because you looked lonely.
As the other girl turned to face her, Louise spied a hint of jealousy wash over Anasazi’s face and fade back out again, quick as it has come. Blue met blue, and Louise tried her hardest to lock her gaze. "That's Josephina 'Josie' Salamanca, a fifth year Ravenclaw." She smirked, a glimmer of importance and superiority flicking over her face and settling decisively in her navy blue eyes. We're the same age and height. Why won't she just take it as it comes? Louise was a tad frustrated, but kept her composure and continued with nothing but sweetness in her tone. ”Why don't you find someone to dance with? You’re plenty pretty enough.” Ouch. That sounded a little condescending, even to her. Hopefully Anasazi would take it as it was meant- with authenticity.

Vlaityn tried to put on her happiest countenance and mind thought when entering the room. Well, happiest she could muster. She wasn't exactly overly pleased. She had considered skipping out on the event altogether because she couldn't seem to find any of her friends to give advice on how she looked.
But with a some-what arrogant, stubborn mental slap, Vlaityn had come anyway. Surprisingly.
She felt an easy-going smile appear when she did see many people she was knew gathered here and there. Joel, Amelia, Peter, Eloise, Joesph, Ascella, Damian, everyone really.
Although she still felt somewhat uncomfortable in her dress. Her mother had insisted on it, naturally. It was a short cut black dress with gray trim that almost shimmered to a light shade of blue, like her eyes. She had also pulled her hair back slightly for the occasion. Another odd thing for her.
