Kouyo subtly let her know that he was relieved at the change of subject as well, and nodded. The dust was not so much of a problem as the size of the room. As well as... a bad experience from a few days prior, but he did not wish to speak of it. He quietly cautioned the young lady to take care if she ever happened to encounter the owner of the bookstore - not Kumoru, but another human, with pale blue hair and narrow tinted glasses. Kouyo had only seen him once after the store had closed, however; hopefully that meant that Mister Whitestone was not around often.
Was there anything else the Lady Tsubei wished to discuss? If so, the High Priest could stand to remain a few more minutes in the light and clean of the main bookstore. Otherwise, he had best get back to work.

Tsubei felt his relief and let it mingle with her own. She would ponder on things at home, but for now she tried to remain cheerful and attentive as she took in his train of thoughts. At the mention of the owner of the store, she had to imagine that he must be a rather intimidating figure if he frightened Kouyo somehow. She would most assuredly not try to cross paths with him...she'd had always been cautioned by Yaruka about odd people.
When he asked if there was anything that she wanted to talk about, she half-wished she did, since it seemed he wasn't too keen on going back in the room. Unfortnately, she did not.
No. She should let him get back to work, in case her interferance with his work might somehow bring down the store owner upon them both. She smiled apologetically to him and then bowed. Perhaps she will see him again soon? She can bring by some of the seeds she has gathered from her flowers so that he may start a garden for the spring. It might give him something to look forward to once he is done with the dinge of that room.
She bid him farewell with a smile and turned to leave. She would stop briefly to look for any books on flowers that she might like, or something on cooking. She did find one good book and purchased it, thanking Kumoru for his help before she left and went to meet with Yaruka. She felt much better after all was said and done and hoped that things might get better....for both their sakes.

Kouyo returned to the storage room with a bit of reluctance, and settled back down near the boxes he had been working on. He adjusted his mask a little and lifted out another armload of books, and hoped he would not have to handle any other conversations like that anytime soon.
Some time after Tsubei left, the High Priest's mind wandered back to privately pondering what his wife might think of him, crawling through dirt and doing such demeaning work. She would probably think him "cute" as well, like some sort of dust-crawling creature of the Golden World, or her own land.
Kouyo closed his eyes and began to cry a little. ... Because of the dust, of course.
