((I blame newbie luck and a bad choice on my part... Ghosts should not fight normal types. I'm getting slaughtered! I don't think it will even matter if I do paralyze you, now...))
This was the perfect chance! "Lick!"
Dreydonna's tongue shot out, but she felt sharp tiny teeth. Eyes watering, she shouted, "Boo bid mah tog!!" Dreydonna flailed in midair, trying to shake the painful teeth loose. That would leave a mark!
Renekai could not help but laugh. Of all the places on a ball of gas for a bite to land, it had to be the tongue.

LizDuck just stood there. She wanted to laugh, but she was too polite to do such. It would take her a moment to recover.
Well, whatever Kryptonite bit onto was surprisingly solid. Mentally he shrugged and held on for a while before letting go and landing on a different platform. It was only then the Eevee noticed what he had been holding onto. Sticking out his own tongue, he spat out a little bit with a disgusted "Vee!"
"While Gastly's distracted, use another Shadow Ball!"
"Vee vee!!!"
It wasn't long before another shadowy blob was heading towards the ghost Pokemon. However, this might have been the break the Ghost was looking for, since the shadowy blob seemed to move slower than the others had.

"Dodge it!" Renekai shouted.
"By tog!!" Dreydonna protested, rolling around. She managed to dodge the Shadow Ball, though it was clear that she hadn't meant to.
It was clear that they would not win. However, they couldn't lose without a fight! It was time to take action, and prevent any further harm to Dreydonna's tongue. "Sludge Bomb!"
Dreydonna sat still long enough to eject a purple, sticky liquid before she resumed her rolling. The poor pokemon desperately needed to go the the pokemon center.

Apparently where the normal type had landed was just the wrong spot. Not only did Kryptonite get hit, but he was in fact standing in the exact spot where the blob of liquid poison landed. Being one who prided himself on being clean, the purplish stain on his fur bothered him more than the actual injury from the attack. His feet were even promptly stuck to the platform now.
LizDuck bit her lip, hoping that her boy hadn't been poisoned. She was too far away to tell.
"Aim another Shadow Ball at it!" she called out uncertainly.
The Eevee lobbed yet another ball of dark energy the Gastly's way, but maybe he just had something in his eye now, for it didn't even make it close to his opponent!

"Enough about your tongue, just fire more poison!" Renekai said in exasperation.
Dreydonna managed to give Renekai a reproachful look and roll out of the way of the shadow ball at the same time. She was getting the hang of this! Her tongue was feeling better, too. Happily spewing the dangerous poison all over, Dreydonna floated merrily around. The battle was becoming a game again.

"Oh no!" LizDuck cried out a bit as she watched Kryptonite get pummeled by another attack. This wasn't looking good at all for her boy!
"Ummm... try Bite when it gets closer!"
Rubbing at his eye, Kryptonite bared his teeth and waited for an opportunity to strike. When he saw a whisp that he felt was close enough to latch onto, he struck!

Dreydonna promptly turned invisible, so that Kryptonite merely bit into thin air. A mysterious cackling was heard from all sides of the stadium. There she went again, trying to be scary.
"One more Sludge Bomb!"
A fall of the sticky, thick substance splattered from above Kryptonite, and Dreydonna flickered back into existence.

This time the hit wasn't direct, but the damage was starting to take effect. Kryptonite was starting to show some wear-and-tear from the onslaught of poison attacks. Huffing a little bit, he looked back to his trainer for some assistance.
To LizDuck, it seemed like the poisonous blobs were slowing her Eevee down. Maybe if he cleaned himself off, it would help a little bit.
"Kryptonite! Get into the water and swim around a bit to clean yourself off!"
"Eevee?!" Certainly, he did want to get clean, but for some reason it didn't seem like the right thing to do at the time. However, he wasn't Foamy, who could occasionally be seen as disobedient. Taking a deep breath, he took a plunge into the water and began to doggy-paddle around. At first, he seemed a bit gummed up due to all the sticky mess stuck to him. However, he soon enough was able to move at a normal pace.
"Good, now use Shadow Ball from where you are now!" LizDuck directed. Maybe leaving her boy in the water would lessen the blows from all that poison.
This was something new. He'd never been swimming and given a command to do all at once. He had to pause for a moment or two so he could concentrate. He sunk a little bit and had to quickly paddle himself up. Perhaps his form was a little sloppy, but soon enough a shadowy ball was flung off towards Dreydonna's direction.

Renekai winced when the Shadow Ball hit. Their luck was running out. Now, even if Dreydonna managed to get a critical hit, they would be out for the count at Kryptonite's next attack; it was too much to hope that he would miss again. Therefore, their only choice was to resort to their previous attack plan, and hope for the best. "Lick!"
Dreydonna poked her tongue out and went cross-eyed in order to examine the little red marks on it. She did not want to give Kryptonite the same target again, but what choice did she have? Diving down quickly, Dreydonna attempted to lick the water bound eevee.

Rather than get licked, the Eevee took a deep breath and ducked under the water. He'd rather not get humiliated or messy.
LizDuck seemed to have a thing for asking her Pokemon to do things which would lead to funny situations (though it was never on purpose).
"Use Bite, Kryptonite!"
His trainer had horrible timing. He was under water and could hear the attack request. However, he wasn't exactly in a position to actually aim. The silvery fox-like figure sprang out of the water and attempted to bite onto the Gastly, but he missed and just ended up splashing back into the water.

"Lick!" Renekai commanded, glad that the bite missed.
Dreydonna, grumbling about how hard it was to aim with a pokemon that was in the water, skimmed low over the surface. She quickly flicked out her tongue again, hoping that she'd immobilize the fluffy thing for once.

With all the water surrounding him, the Eevee couldn't really feel the fact that Dreydonna's tongue had gotten him. However, he could feel a shudder run down his spine which worried him. Making haste, he swam to the edge of a platform and attempted to crawl out of the water. However, half-way up, his lower half fell limp.
"...vee..." he sniveled a bit.
"Oh no!!" LizDuck cried out in dismay. Her hands were clenching her apron quite harshly. That would leave some unsightly wrinkles later, but that was the least of her concerns for now.

"Finally..." Renekai sighed. But it didn't seem that Kryptonite was very firmly paralyzed. Better make use of the time they had! "Dreydonna, use Giga Drain!"
Dreydonna's eyes widened for a moment, and suddenly a bright green light shot from her mouth. Whether it would reach its target or not was another matter...
((Recovered 50 HP. I shoulda used this attack before! *facepalm*))

Being the type of trainer she was, LizDuck started to panic. If she had the ability to get onto the field and pick up her boy, she would have done so.
"Kryptonite, get out of there!"
The Eevee winced and took the hit from the attack. However, his legs still weren't working the way they were supposed to. The silvery Pokemon growled at his own legs, almost as if trying to command them to work again.

"We can pull this off with a little more luck," Renekai said quietly. "Use Giga Drain again, 'Donna!"
Dreydonna floated carefully lower for better aim, then released the beam once more. She loved the feeling of regaining her strength! It was too bad that neither she nor Renekai had realized the importance of this attack before.
At least Renekai had a better battle plan for the future now.
