Anael De Ezra Just try to keep it clean, and squeeze the icky stuff out if you can. And then find someone else's bed to sleep in so you don't have to be afraid of your closet. I've done that. Thank you. And all the bedrooms in my house have a closet. It doesn't have to be my closet for me to be afraid. Luna Amatista Put your pillow on the other side of the bed. : Like, your feet would be where your head usually is?
Otherwise, take off the earrings for a few days. I doubt the piercing will close up, that doesn't happen unless you don't wear earrings for months. If I did that I would be facing the window and windows scare me more than closets. gonk Also, I'm taking your advice. I'm going to leave it out for about two days. It's creepy though. It looks kind of bruised. Pixie Saylor um, get over it? Is just holes in your ears. Sleep different or deal with it, and don't take a piercing out afore it's healed. srsly. I tried that last night. I woke up facing the other way, though.

The pus you described makes me think infection. Pus is the body's way of removing something that shouldn't be there. Curious, what kind of earrings were you wearing before this occured? Studs, Hoops or Sheppard Hooks?
When i was young and got my ears pierced for the first time, i wore a pair of stud earrings to bed a couple nights in a row. I always slept on the same side as well, and what ended up happening is that they puffed up and got all p***y and bloody and i was missing a backing too. I thought the backing had fallen off in the bed, and took the earring out because it looked infected. A few months later after it healed, it still hurt so my dad took a look at it. Turns out my earring backing had become embedded in my EAR. My dad had to dig the backing out of my ear with a swiss army knife. To this day, i won't wear stud earrings.

I'm not sure if you've done this or not-- but try sleeping without the earrings in. It might just be the pressure from the backings on the ear that's causing this.
I know that for my ears, they're really sensitive, and start to pus and stuff if I sleep with cheap earrings in, so I generally just wear earrings for like church or school and then take them out after.

Well, it could be any number of things, or you could be allergic to the type of metal the earrings are made of. Are they all gold? Or metal? Or a mix of both? This kind of thing happens to me when I wear regular metal earrings without gold platings. I'm allergic to regular metal earrings, so I have to go and buy some specialty ones from various stores. They're really cheap these days. n-n Well, good luck on figuring out what it is.

I was wearing studs then changed it to a larger pair of studs and now I have a lightweight pair of studs. And, ouch, I'm sorry about that. The Retanator I'm not sure if you've done this or not-- but try sleeping without the earrings in. It might just be the pressure from the backings on the ear that's causing this. I know that for my ears, they're really sensitive, and start to pus and stuff if I sleep with cheap earrings in, so I generally just wear earrings for like church or school and then take them out after. My mom suggested that I'm probably going to do that for now. And I think you're right. My mom also says that I push it too far in. I just don't want them to fall out. sweatdrop That makes sense. I used the store's earrings first then switched to 14k gold and changed it to a pair of white gold earrings (I'm not sure if it is white gold though; it was a gift). I didn't seem to have a problem with the store earrings. Only with the latest two.

I haven't read all the other comments, but yeah, you should never take out a piercing before it's healed. Even after it's healed, the wound can heal very fast, so you should try taking it out and see for yourself how long it take before it gets hard to put it back on.
If you can't sleep unless you face your back to the closet, sleep at the other end of the bed and on your other ear.

Just studs? If you're afraid of them falling out, i'd suggest investing in a pair of "sleepers" They're thin hoop earrings (mine are gold :3 ) which are meant to put in and leave in for extended periods of time or just to sleep in. They're lighter and because they're hoops, you won't have to worry about them falling off and won't push the backings in too far because there are none.
Sleepers are also a good choice instead of leaving the earring out if you're afraid they may not have healed properly, they will prevent the ear from completely healing and also won't irritate the ear as much as another type of earring might.

If you can't sleep unless you face your back to the closet, sleep at the other end of the bed and on your other ear. I don't know. I've had it out for two days now and the lump is getting smaller. It's also less sensitive. I'm going to wait until its about the same size as the other ear before I put it back in. Heart Shaped Toastie Just studs? I think I'll buysome tonight. They seem like a good idea. I went to thestore and they didn't help me at all. They didn't know what was wrong but they said it might have been because I didn't clean the earrings itself daily. Germs/ bacteria may have collected on the earrings which irritated the area around my piercing.

Wish me luck. I got it half way in then it started bleeding and I was trying to push it through but I couldn't find the other end and the blood was dripping so I took it out and I'm icing it again. gonk gonk

Don't... gonk pierce it yourself!
That's awful!
At least get a friend to do it so you have someone to hit when it hurts.

I don't even know how many times I've repierced my ears.
The pain isn't bad. At all. AT ALL. Take something sharp - pin/needle, whatever, sanitize, and go from the back to the front. You'll be able to see what you're doing and won't get lost in your ear. Go slow and be careful, and clean it with peroxide when you're done. Then leave it in for 6 weeks, without taking it out. Last time I got my ears professionally done I didn't clean past the first week, but since your ears seem to hate you it's probably good if you clean daily, and should probably take toastie's advice and get hoops. Also, backs don't fall off that easy, so there's no need to push them in so far. Rotate them a couple times daily, don't mess with them too much.
Don't do it with the back of an earring since that hurts like a ******** and blunt trauma is bad for your ear.

D: i was worried it would heal up if there was no earring in there. 3
seriously, get some small hoops if not sleeper earrings specifically. I wouldn't do it myself if i were you because i'm a spaz and terrified of things getting infected (especially since your ears seem to be susceptible to infection), but if you are going to make VERY SURE your utensils are sanitized and clean and omg be so very careful O_O
It shouldn't be too terrible since the hole is freshly healed, the scar tissue should pierce easier than it would if it were fresh never pierced skin (i think?)
