Seeing the gunslinger evade away from the magical blast, Ifrit didn't fire it. He didn't dispel it either, but instead held it back, ready for future use. If Irvine took a close look at Ifrit where the shots from earlier had impacted, he would find the wounds sealed, no visible trace of them.
Ifrit staggered back at the shot into his neck, but did not bleed. Again, wonders of being a God's avatar.
"FOOLISH HUMAN!"
Leaping up into the air, Ifrit cocked back his right fist, and came down like a seven-ton brick directly toward Irvine, his fist aimed to finish the gunslinger once and for all.

Irvine dodged yet again. But in doing so, he ******** his shin up worse. The pain was nearly impossible to ignore now. He stood up and loaded Valiant quickly with the speedloader and strafed. Irvine's shin slowed him down considerably. The next hit he wouldn't be able to dodge.
The sharpshooter pulled the trigger quickly, mostly aiming for the creature's head.

Ifrit lunged back, protecting itself from the fire once more with its arms. But this time, being as it was a rapid-fire assault rifle, more shots wormed their way in. By now, the shot to his throat had regenerated completely.
The fire energy had stayed gathered around Ifrit's left hand, but the God's avatar dispelled the energy and stood fully upright, staring down at Irvine.
"NOT BAD FOR A HUMAN. VERY WELL. I WILL JOIN YOU."
Ifrit summoned more fire between his hands, but this didn't look like an attack spell. Crushing his hands together, he molded the flames into the form of a small stone no wider than a battery's length, which he then tossed toward the gunslinger.
Then flames sprouted out from the remaining wounds in his body, growing to encompass his entire form, before the flames winked out, and the GF was no longer there.
In that stone Irvine had been thrown was the spirit of the GF.

Irvine grinned, pocketed the stone, then began the journey back to Balamb. In a few minutes, he was out of the Fire Cavern and back onto the World Map.

Haiiro walks to the guards as instructed, and identifies himself to the guards there...

Zell shrugged and walked up behind the Cadet then did the traditional SeeD salute. He stated why they where there next.
"This is the next Cadet who needs to pass the test, I'm his support, Zell Dincht"
( No rest for Ifrit! Irvine abandoned Quistis! xd )

The guard looked at Haiiro, then Zell, and nodded.
Choose a time limit. One that is suitable for your skills, but not overly wasteful.

Haiiro nods and takes off the safety on the rifle as he enters. He takes a classic rifleman's stance and movement patterns, rilfe ready, pointed downward, and constantly scanning the surroundings in a semi-crouch.

Zell stepped forward past the guard and hurried the Cadet along.
"Come on we gotta get going quick, faster we get there the better!" Zell quickly ran into the Fire Caverns then turned and waved the Cadet in, he would be watching from now on, all he could do was help from the sidelines with healing.
"We better try and ignore as many beasts as we can, the'll just slow us down." Zell pointed to afew large bats and large rocks in the nearby magma
"Bats are easy Bombs are tough so lets just ignore them both and get on to the end!" Zell impatiently tapped his foot and waited for the Cadet to hurry.

He scans the area as he proceeds with speed, aiming in the immediate 130 degree front arc...

Zell quickly followed behind and shout out a quick warning, they where already half-way there when a large Bomb and a Bat came swooping in.
"Ok kid lets see what you can do, no escaping this!" Zell got into a ready stance but then cursed as he remmbered, no fighting foir him.

He turns to engage the new threts, a bat and Bomb. He takes aim at the bat first, then puts a couple shots in it's direction. He then immediatly shifts to the bomb and hits the semi-auto switch on the rifle...
(Too much Rainbow Six, actually. Basically, Run like hell, hit'em only if they're in the way.)
