Just like in the animal kingdom, species parade themselves around in order to acquire a mate. White teeth, flushing cheeks, a well proportioned body, etc. can all appeal to various people. 'cept, it's the men who are the more colorful; thus, the more... erm. Eager.
Nowadays, however, females are like so: "OMG, HAVE YOU SEEN THAT HOT PIECE OF a**?!!1/!?!!111"!1 I SO WANNA @#$% THAT!1!1" Yeah. No. With girls, it's all boobs and a** in the immediate area. For those rare species, y'know, there's a thing call personality and that's definitely something I find people guarding/bragging about.
Wtf did I just say?

Sanzoskitsune Both sexes are pretty vain if you ask me. I've seen some arrogant and vain males and females.... and I want to slap them both Don't hate me because I'm beautiful. sorry...it just had to be said XP@Chex - I have no idea...but, I like your avi smile

I do love mocking people who think they're hella hot, cause they're usually stupid as hell and don't get when you're being sarcastic, its made of awesome

I dont think one sex is more self-centered than the other because self-centeredness is derived from how was raised not genetic inheritence or composition.

Being vain isn't a genetic trait, it's the personality of the person and/or how they were raised.
I hate it when the beautiful people who know that they there--sometimes even when they're really not-- rub it in your face about how beauitful and perfect they are... stare
Yeah, I punched one before... and she doesn't look so beautiful and pretty now! xd
