Once more, Rohannon bowed lowly to his lady before heading towards the woods. He kept on foot, not wanting to tax his lady with flight in her delicate condition. he walked slowly, only keeping a bit ahead of her to lead her in the proper direction, but always made sure that a part of him was touching her - be it his tail that would brush by her swollen stomach, or her flanks against her shoulders, or his wings that would dip down to her back.
While it was a little more difficult to find his way back to those woods on foot, when he had originally traveled there by wing, its edge was not very far away.
However, once they reached the shade of the boughs of the trees, the terrain became more familiar. For while flight was such a gift, it was not always an appropriate one. As a questing knight, Rohannon had traveled by foot to experience the trail more fully.
And while in Rohannon's mind, this might have been a gloriously mysterious woods, with dark pockets that could contain anything from crawling monster to damsel in distress, it was little more than any temperate forest found in the regions, albeit perhaps a bit thicker.
He made certain to travel at a slower pace, not wishing to tax his lady.
Despite the chill of the air, the forest was pleasant, the thick canopy, not entirely devoid of its leaves, providing a barrier for the snow, and a blanket that kept in some of the warmpth of the ground.
Finally, Rohannon stopped at the place he had remembered. It was a small grove, nestled into the woods. The ground was mostly clear of debris, sheltered by large trees that closed the skies above away. It felt sheltered, cozy. A few determined blades of grass even poked up through the earth in spite of the winter.
He turned to Sevati with a proud smile. "It is no kingdom, but will this suit my lady's needs?"

Sevati followed in Rohannon's hoofsteps, smiling inwardly at all the little advances of affection, gentle touches now and then that made her feel cared for and protected. She wondered if he would remain so affectionate after she had given birth - if he continued she would probably be in this state again in a matter of months! She bit her lip to keep from giggling out loud, concentrating on not tripping over his hooves, nor letting her belly swing too much.
The journey seemed to happen in a pleasantly weary daze, for her at least. She wouldn't be able to find this place again as she'd not paid attention to the route, but as she looked around Sevati was satisfied she wouldn't have to move for a while. There was no whistling wind here, no bite to the air. It seemed nicely secluded.
'Yes,' she nodded, moving further in, looking around her. She chose a spot and lowered herself gingerly, taking the weight off her legs for a while.

Rohannon stood proudly over his mate as she accepted this location he had selected. He had done well, and seeing the happiness and love in her eyes was a greater prize than anything even a king could have granted him.
His eyes cast over the grove with muted disapproval. This was not the location he had dreamed of for them to raise a family. But... at least she was happy. ANd he was determined to raise fine foals with all the love his heart could contain.
He nuzzled Sevati. "Rest, my mate, my love. I shall bring you all that you need, and make this grove our own magical grotto."
And then, meticulously and lovingly, Rohannon began to gather tender shoots that had ventured early out of the frozen ground, boughs of evergreen trees that he could interweave in the branches around the grove, and everything that he could to to transform this mere grove into somewhere safe and fit to welcome new life into the world.
((should this be a wrap? :3 ))
