Kind? Her? Only when the mood was upon her. Such as now. Yallinda's light hearted nature was bolstered partly by the drink she'd recieved free, but mostly by the possible good fortune this male was presenting her with. It did not hurt matters any that he was cute and suited all of her male requirements. She walked freely down the street, her hips swaying with a little more exaggeration due to her good mood. Her red eyes sparkled brightly as she cast her glance about. Chaos and constant struggle? This city was the prime place for a Healer like herself! She could have her pick of the Houses! If the other healers here were not as skilled as herself she knew it would be granted she'd be in high demand. Perhaps even granted a touch of immunity if she let word of her skills spread through the city. A priestess that did not rely only on divine prayer! Her knowledge was a resource that would not peter out the way a string of prayers could.

Yallinda turned her bright expression to Ka'darihin when he explained that it was dangerouse on the streets, but agreed to answer her questions. However, seeing his face and it's expression quickly dampened her joyful expression. If he was this concerned then so should she. It would do her no good to die before her value was uncovered. "Then I will submitt to your better judgement in this until I am familiar with your city."

She stood in waiting as he sought transportation to his House, her head cocked to one side so she could better hear his words. "I can assure you, I'm of a very agreeable nature when it comes to dealing with Houses and theire Noble lines. I wouldn't survive very long otherwise. Skilled or not!" Linda laughed softly to herself. Oh! How she was eager to meet this matron! A nice room! A good pay! mmm, maybe all the luxuries she has had to live without while in the caravan..and a few males to occupy her time... Linda's eyes stole over ka'da's frame as he waved the cab down.

Linda paid the cab and it's driver no mind as her thoughts were more on the male that was with her. "Thank you." She graciously spoke to him as she accepted his hand and allowed him to help her up into the cab. Of course...once she was seated inside...Linda was not too interested in letting go of that hand. She shifted her seat close to Ka'da, her red eyes glimmering brightly as she waited for him to tell the driver where to take them.

"So...tell me Rihn..." She breathed softly. "Have you a female that call's you her's yet?"

Ka'da had started to tell the driver where to take them when Yallinda when she breathed softly on his shoulder and asked him if he had a female. The look that came over his face, a mixture of disbelief, horror, and outright embarrasment was rather priceless. He paused, turning to look at her, his mouth working slowly like a fish caught out of water, not one word coming out.

He turned around, straightening in his seat, closed his eyes and tried to breath and get his voice back. After several moments of silence, the driver brought him out of his state of shock by asking in a rough voice from years of smoking.

"Are ya goin' ta tell me what House ta take ya to?" The brusqueness of it grated on Ka'da's ears, bringing him back to where he was.

"Yes, sorry for my lapse. Please take us the House Ja'lithur,"
Then he turned to stare at Linda for several moments as if trying to gauge what he was going to say to her.
"No, Lady Yallinda, I don't have one. Perhaps we should keep our conversation limited to the House. Unless you have something you would like to share that has nothing to do with what you want to "do" to me." Ka'da replied a little sharply.

He had finally figured out why she had targeted him, and why she was so easily convinced to come with him. He should have figured it out earlier. he cursed his slow brain for not picking up on it when he had first seen her in the bar. She had been obviously sent by his sisters to get to him, and worm her way into his head until he couldn't think about anything but her. It was a prime way to mess with a warrior, he had seen such thing happen to others in the many years he had been visiting the Black Fang.

So he sat there, without saying another word, trying to keep his mind off of the slim figured seductress seated next to him, practically draping herself all over him. He tried to ignore her perfume's scent...even though it was quite pleasant and wasn't overly used. He wasn't going to let her get to him and distract him from his duties, he was simply going to use her to complete his task and then get rid of her. If she really was a healer, well then she'd probably be able to find a better job at one of the higher houses. That is if she could survive on the streets of Llurth Dreir and the conniving House politics.

It was rather amusing to see the mixture of looks upon his face. She assumed that from this alone the answer to her question was a No. This was good! If she could claim him as her male then it would be so much the better for her! A Son! Of a high ranking House even! And if it was that her presence may give them the ability to climb up in rank then she was postive his Matron would be pleased enough to..to...what? Let her have him permantly? That would be absolutly divine! Then she could possibly wiggle her way into the family...appease the matron, make her happy with her...it would be all of Yallinda's dreams come true! Of course if he turned out to be male interested that would be a sour dissappointment. Males that were drawn to other males were bitchs to get 'prepared' for her own enjoyment.

His silence was...endearing. Poor little male. He was probably stunned that she was considering him for herself. It was a bit bold of her. Being a newcomer and a Houseless drowess herself. Making such a move on a Son who was above her was a dangerouse move on her part. But she couldn't help it! He was so cute!

At first when he did finally verbally answer her, Yallinda's lips curled upwards into a bright and happy smile...but it died rather immediatly as he would chastise her. The smile died, as did the bright glimmer within. Well! Wasn't he a scathing little brute! Yallinda pulled away from him a bit stiffly in a offended manner. Crossing her arms, and formed a unhappy sulk with her purple painted lips. "What I would like to 'do' to you? Your assuming a bit much Rihn! My mind is not so gutter wrought as that! You are the one that bought me that drink you know, if anyone should be suspicious of such thoughts it should be me!"

She cast her glance aside in a manner of insult. While her mind had certainly been making it's way to such thoughts, she was not course enough to whisper nasty things into his ear in a cab of all places. Such thoughts were best kept within and dreamed upon until the desire reached a tantalizing lust. THEN acted upon... Still, it was a dissappointment that she did not attempt to hide. Being shunned by the male just because she had shown interest in him. So she did not deny herself sidelong glances. He did have nice arms...It would have been nise if he had been acceptable to her question...such arms wrapped around her shoulders would have made the ride to his House more enjoyable then sitting with her arms crossed over herself.

Ka'da felt like a true jerk. He had, as she had pointed out, insinuated that he was interested in her by buying her the drink no matter what had motivated him to do so. She must really be pissed off at him for sending such mixed signals and confusing her with his bluntness.

He sighed, and rubbed his face tiredly. Then he discretely turned to look at her when he knew she wasn't looking at him. She looked almost..dejected with her arms crossed over her lap, her gaze having wandered out over the dismal state of the streets they were passing through. Ka'da's brows narrowed and his eyes began to blaze, when he realized that the cab was taking them the worst possible way to his House. As much as he wanted to apologize and make things right with Yallinda, he knew that he wouldn't have time to if the cab driver was doing what Ka'da suspected him of doing.

Despite his fears telling him not to, Ka'da scooted closer to Yallinda, and put his lips to her ear and whispered to her.

"Lady Yallinda we appear to be in a bit of trouble. Try to not let your feelings show, we're in a very precarious situation. The cab driver, by what I can gather is taking us straight through a cutthroat district, I believe he's been paid off to bring travelers through for the cutthroats to "take out". On my count, we're going to jump out and run for it. It's our only hope of surviving. One...two...."

Though Linda glared outside the window in between peeks at Ka'da, she was not really paying much attention to the scenery. Inwardly she was begining to fret. If Ka'da recanted his descion to take her to his Matron she'd lose her prime opportunity. The one she'd been looking for so long for. She would have let her excitedness ruin things! Inwardly she wanted to berate herself for this mistake..but her ego wanted to place all of the blame on Ka'da. He shouldn't have bought her that drink. He shouldn't have made himself so attractive. He shouldn't have offered to take her to his House. He shouldn't have taken her hand to help her into the cab. Goddess Lloth! He was a male! He shouldn't have shunned her at all! He should have been damn well thanking her for being interested in him! He'd so much as told her that she was a rare commodity in a city like this. High demand! She was like a pearl from the surface all shined up and prepared to be placed in a setting!

The more that Yallinda thought, the more that she sulked in her rejection. Her brows slowly knitting together with unhappy anger. She nearly missed it when Ka'da shifted himself closer to her. Though his presence was keenly felt and noticed when he leaned in towards her ear. Instantly the frown melted away. Ah! He was going to apologize! Yallinda resisted the urge to reposition herself so she leaned back against Ka'da. First he had to apologize, which she'd very rapidly accept! Then she'd allow him to hold her for the rest of---

WHAT!? Despite his warning not to react it really was rather hard for her not too! Her red eyes widened and her purple painted lips opened in a 'O' of shock. He was not serious!? Was this sime sort of pathetic attempt to distract her from his rude rejection!? Surely not! Or...Or had he lied to her!? Was he not really the son of this House? Was this cab trip just a ruse? Was he trying to steer her away so he could..what? Kill her for her goods? Get her to run off with him under the pretense of being in danger so he could be 'oh so rough' with her in some dark ally?

Actually that last part wasn't that bad...she wouldn't mind a little roughing...Wait? Jump?? Yallinda's eyes darted to the door of the cab, her slender frame stiff in silent protest of the risky move Ka'da was keenly ready to take. Ka'da's count reached two, and the cab came to a jerking halt. Yallinda turned to look at Ka'da with undisguised suspicion for a moment. If he had planned this...

The door on Yallinda's side of the cab opened an a hand reached in while Yallinda was still reguarding Ka'da and attempting to discern if he really was the culprit to blame. She turned her gaze back as she felt a hand grip her forearm roughly. It gave a surpriseingly strong jerk, the power behind it litterally ripping Yallinda off her seat and out the door with a protesting cry coming from her.

The cab had stopped down a street that was only just barely wide enough for the cab to slip through. A wall ran alongside Ka'da's side of the cab, effectively making it impossible to open the door or even writhe out through the window on that side. Yallinda's door opened only because the building alongside hers had a door already opened, effectively making it possible only to exit the cab by entering the building that Yallinda had just been jerked into. The cab driver himself had no need to move from his perch, once his cab had been emptied of it's trapped travlers he could continue on with plausible deniablity of anyone ever entering the cab in the first place.

The thug that had pulled her from the cab had the build and look of a brute. A six foot tall heavily muscular drow with a score of disfiguring scars on both his face and visable body. He appeared, to Yallinda, to have some sort of troll or orc in his blood. His eyes were a foul yellow color and his jaw protruded out a little bit to allow very small lower tusk's to peekup past his bottom lip. He wore a breastplate of banded iron and hide pants, a half cloak fluttered from his broad shoulders. Next to him and against the wall a heavy looking battle axe leaned. In her fright Yallinda could only gawk at the male that made her feel like a single strand of twine in compare to a twisted heavy sail rope.

" 'Ere now 'ere!" The male grunted as he hauled Yallinda painfully off the floor in his strong grip. Instinctively she reached up with her free hand and began to cat claw at the male's face."Put me down! put me down this in---" The male silenced Yallinda's frightened cry with a unexpected backhand. The loud crack of his strike relayed the strength of the casual blow. Yallinda's body immediatly fell limp, her ears were ringing from the blow and her eyes unfocused while the male took his time to inspect the now motionless female. The hand that he used to strike Yallinda rose and he began to speak while thrusting his fingers up onder her top.

"We's got us a b***h 'ere. Preety thing, but too much clothins in meh 'pinion. We's changin that soons yeh." Though the male spoke with a deplorable gutter accent his yellow eyes did not portray him as a dullard. His lips parted in a self satisfied manner as he corsely manhandled Yallinda's stunned form. His head jerked to the cab door as he began to push her top up over her chest and spoke to another pair of thugs in the small room with him. "Em'ty it out now. Let's us see what we be'in gots 'ere."

One of the thugs, no less intimidateing in size, strod boldly to the open doors and peered in. He too was protected by a set of banded armor, though rather then hard iron his had the burnished blaze of bronze. In his hands was a crossbow, leveled and primed to fly with a viscious looking crossbow bolt of serrated glistening metal. His red eyes squinted within, and a ugly smile broke over his lips as he took a gander in at Ka'da.

"Hey boss. We's got two bitchs in this delivery. This one's lot's more your type then that b***h." He spoke to the large male holding Yallinda's now squirming form. "Come on out Pretty n' we'll see about taking care not to mess up that pretty face of yors."

((since you didn't say how many thugs there were...I'll assume there's maybe 2 of them.)))

Ka'dairihn's pulse raced when the cab suddenly halted right as he reached the number two in his countdown. He cast a glance over Yallinda's shoulder and wasn't too surprised to see that the cab had squeezed its way into a very narrow alley. He should really have expected it, and planned to jump out sooner than to try and explain the situation to Yallinda. He had wasted precious time in doing so, time in which they might have escaped from what was about to happen.

He was rather stunned when Yallinda was abruptly ripped out of her seat and disappeared in the grasp of a huge male drow. He glanced around in hopes getting out of the cab, only to see that there was a brick wall barring his escape from his side of the cab. The only other way was up through a steel enforced topper. Ka'da gritted his teeth, he was trapped.

He felt his blood boil while he was forced to watch the brute manhandle Yallinda into the empty building and slap her around and treat her as though she were naught more than a whore. His muscles bunched under his clothing, readying themselves to spring into action and destroy the b*****d who was hurting his lady. It was the last thought that surprised him, as well as how readily he had accepted her as someone worth protecting. Perhaps he was changing, and getting over his fear of the opposite sex. That in itself was nothing less than a miracle.

He manuevered his sword, so that it was hidden beneath his cloak and at his back so that he would be able to get at it when it became necessary. He wasn't about to let whoever it was know that he was armed, though since he was wearing armor as well as the damn House insignia his Matron adamantly insisted he wore whenever he left the House grounds, it would give him away instantly to whoever had attacked the Yallinda.

He stilled himself, and wasn't surprised when he was spotted the intimidating behemoth of a drow that appeared in the doorway of the run down building. He stared back at the armored drow that stared into the cab, not letting his flaring emotions and whirling anger to get the better of him when he saw the crossbow the drow was carrying. He did as the drow told him, not saying a word, putting his hands onto his head as he descended from the cab and into the building with the attackers and saw Yallinda squirming against the other's attempts to undress her, her face a picture of absolute fright.

"Ah...looks like we gots us a fella from a high house. He'll bring us a preety 'igh price on the market!" The rogue with the crossbow chuckled, showing off half rotten teeth.

That's when Ka'da made his move, pulling his long sword from it's sheath at his back and destroying the crossbow with one good aimed lash. The drow holding the crossbow stepped back his face a mixture of surprise and anger, and reached for the large axe leaning against the wall.
Ka'da moved too quickly, his long years of training making him a moving blur of motion as he struck the larger drow down with one deep strike to vulnerable veins and muscles of the neck.

The other thug growled deeply, hatred burning in his red eyes, as he jumped to his feet, grasping Yallinda to him, putting a dagger to her throat.

"Enuff o' dat now preety boy. One more move, an' I keel yore girlfriend." The half troll drow slurred, his mouth parting, saliva dripping from his tusks and falling down on Yallinda's head and face.

Ka'dairihn's eyes flashed, and looked around the place, hoping that he hadn't moved too quickly without properly assessing the situation. It would be his death and Yallinda's if the thug had other associates waiting in the shadows to pick him off. His sharp trained eyes took in the surroundings in several seconds, reassuring him that there were no other thugs waiting in the shadows.

"What exactly is it that you want of me and the Lady? If you have need of money, my House will willing give you any price you ask for ransom." He questioned, his voice brimming with hostility. His sword lowered slightly at his side, he hoped that if he relaxed on the outside, that the thug might be fooled into thinking that Ka'dairihn was prepared to negotiate with him. Unfortunately for the thug, the moment he had touched and accosted Yallinda, that had sealed his death warrant firmly in Ka'da's mind.

It was such a humiliation! Though Yallinda struggled, it was more out of protest then a actual attempt to break free. The backhand blow she had taken from the thug had left her head acehing. She considered herself lucky just to be conscious! Unless that was his intention. Disgusting pig! Yallinda was fearful of course. Having a dangerouse large male touching her in a none-too-gentle manner was very intimidating. It also destroied her minor fantasies from the cab of 'roughing it up' in a ally. The honest truth was often times far more dissappointing then the imaginative wanderings of the mind. As Ka'da was slipping from the cab, her assailant was still amuseing himself by roughly groping her chest. By now her top was completely askew and the manner he was touching her was growing far more vulgar. She tried quite hard to silence the small mouselike sounds from her throat...but Goddess he was hurting her! And in a most sensitive place!

It seemed as if her brute was only vaugely interested in Ka'da despite his companion's jeer, for his attention did not waver from his abuse of her. In face his leer was growing a bit more disturbing by the second as he examined her clothing following the fellows comment.

"Noh 'signia 'ere'" he almost cheerfully reported to his partner. In the next second though, his eyes were up and widened by Ka'da's move.

In short order Yallinda found herself pressed uncomfortably tight against her captor. he was just so big! Such a brute! Her hands were free now though, and she could not resist the opportunity to grab her top and wrest it back into place. Her smaller body was squirming, even with the dagger against her neck. HA! Girlfriend!? After what had happened in the cab she assumed Ka'da would...

Well...she wasn't quite proud of herself when she stared blankly at Ka'da as he began to lower his weapon. What sort of fool male was he!? He should have been eding his way towards the door to escape...now...she couldn't really find it in herself to be upset over the fact he seemed to be complying. Yallinda did have it a bit hard in her to be comepletely grateful. After all, this nasty troll of a drow was still holding her, ready to kill her in a instant, and he was bloody well drooling on her! "Nygh..." She groaned slightly as the hot spittal flecked down onto her cheeks. Sick!

The thug, clearly unphased by his partners unexpected death, raked his eyes over Ka'da in a judging sweep. Though he smiled with confidence, he still took a trio of steps backwards so as to place half of the room's distance between himself and Ka'da.

"Yous lissen then. Drop yor sword..." His chin gave a very small jerk towards ka'da, and that foul smile of his grew larger. "N' strip. Nekkid. I t'ink ransome issa good idea fer yous. Best hope yor House likes you or th' boy's onna market will really like yous."

Ka'da kept his eyes on Yallinda's face as she pulled her shirt back into place, and tried to put on a brave face, despite the fact that she was being held by an uncouth slobbering half breed. Ka'da's tried to send Yallinda a message with his eyes, as he mentally screamed at her to bite the damned brute.
Of course, since she wasn't telepathic and she had no idea what he was trying to tell her with his eyes she just stood there unmoving, her large eyes wide with fright.

The course thug's eyes swept over Ka'da in a calculating glance, and then he had the audacity to smirk at him. Ka'da wasn't surprised when the damned thug took a few steps to put distance between them. The thug might be imposing, he might be calculating and of the intellectual type, but when the halfbreed told him to strip naked Ka'da knew instantly that he hated the man.

There was no way in hell that he was going to strip naked in front of Yallinda! Not even if he were sent to the pits because of it. Instead, Ka'da's free hand reached inside his cloak, as he started to kneel and lay the sword on the ground. He gripped the handle of his dagger, drew it free and with a quick snap of his wrist he flung it at the thug. The dagger sank into the thug's left eye, causing the half breed to shriek in pain and let go of Yallinda to go for the dagger sticking out of his face. Yallinda fell in a heap at the feet of the thug, right as Ka'da launched himself furiously across the room, swiping the thug's head off of his shoulders.

The headless body shuddered, stepped forward slightly...then fell only inches away from the huddled form of Yallinda. Ka'da moved to her, pulling her to her feet and holding her close to him. He wiped the spit out of her face with his cloak gently, and asked, his voice full of concern and sympathy, seeing as this was probably the first time she had witnessed such a sight.

"Are you alright? Let's get out of here before we get visited by anymore thugs."
He let her go only long enough to retrieve his dagger, wiping the blood off on the thug's shirt and then placing it back where he had taken it off. Then he was back at her side, and helping her towards the door. He paused to look carefully around the alleyway before he led her off in the direction of a nearby inn.
This time he was going to do things right, and make sure they got to his House unscathed and without any sort of attacks. He gave one of the inn's livery boys a note and had them take it off to his House. Soon, a carriage from the House of Ja'lithur and five guards would be showing up to escort the two of them in safety back to his Home. He just hoped that the whole encounter hadn't scarred the small woman he now held tightly in his arms.

Naked? Yallinda could not, for the life of her, imagin why the brute would want Ka'da to strip naked. Unless he really was the nasty pervert the other drow had insinuated?

Things happened then, rather quickly. Yallinda was watching as Ka'da was begining to lay his weapon down..then something quick darted out from under his cloak. She heard the roar of pain from the brute holding her, and down she went. Once on her knee's, she had to admitt she was more then a little stunned. Honestly! This sort of thing was nothing she was used to! As a priestess and a healer she had been held in high enough reguard that people took care when concerning her! Such violence was usually happened outside of the walls that she was hidden in!

Ka'da moved quite quickly, a credit indeed to his training as a warrior. Yallinda was certainly unscathed by the halfbreed. There wasn't even a faint cutting where his blade had been pressed to her throat. Yallinda was slowly uncoiling from her small huddle when the thug landed heavily on the floor next to her. She turned, her red eyes blinking once at his headless form. It took her a second to realize the head was missing, then those purple tinted lids of her's widened. Blood was just..flowing from the neck wound. Yallinda's body went numb all over. Her purple lips parted as her dark skin lightened dramatically in a paleness.

She wasn't quite certain when she began to scream. her body was so utterly frozen that she could not move. Not that she would have been able to manage it with the violent shaking that clutched her form. He was dead...absolutly dead..and just..there..next to her..a hand was just scant inch's from her knee. Yallinda could not grasp a thought beyond the image that laid out before her.

She was unaware that Ka'da had pulled her against him. Though as he wiped the spittle from her face, she would turn and bury her face in his shoulder in an attempt to deny the dead thing laying so very close to her. her flesh felt as cold as ice. As if somehow..somehow the dead thing near to her was sucking the warmth out of her limbs. "Goddess! Oh Goddess! Oh Goddess!" She wailed as she clung to Ka'da with such terror. She did not want to let him go. Not even for that moment when he went to retrive his dagger. Though with him gone Yallinda was again forced to spy, for a moment, the dead body beside her. She lifted her hands and clasped them over her face, seeking to blind herself to the sight by covering her red eyes..ah! But as she did she felt wetness that had nothing to do with the spittal. Tears had managed to escape her eyes, and now that she was aware of it she could do nothing to stop the terrified sobs in her throat, or the weeping tears of terror. Yallinda had been this frightened before, and it made her ill to find herself reduced to such a state again.

Ka'da's return to her helped though. She would allow him to escort her, her eyes closed as she shook. Unprotesting and certainly with no flirtascious thoughts or actions as he arranged another means to escort her to his House.Ah! She didn't even want to go now! Her head shook slightly even as he held her so tight. "I..I..I can't..I can't.....I can't see them like-like this." She was no longer screaming..no longer weeping or shaking..but she felt completely shaken. This was not a good way to impress a Matron!! Healers were generally viewed as weak and soft hearted but she did not want to live up to that sterotype!!
PostPosted: Mon Dec 01, 2008 7:48 pm

Ka'da had been a bit surprised, but not much by the horror etched onto Yallinda's face when she had spied the dead body next to her in the abandoned building. It had taken all his nerves and empathy not to shake her and demand she stop screaming and carrying on. It drew attention to them as they walked through the streets, but Ka'da snarled at every face that turned to regard them as they passed.
There was no way he was going to let her go through something like that again, so he used every fiber of his being looking as aggressive and mean as he felt. He wished he could go back to the body of the thug and hack it into the smallest pieces he could and then throw them to the fish. Or just throw them in the faces of the damned men who stared out after them during their trek through the backstreets of Llurth Dreir.

He didn't object or try to loosen her terror inspired grasp to him. He merely, half carried her, half walked her down the streets. He figured once she was able to calm down he'd be able to free her fingers from the near choke hold she had on his neck. He breathed shallowly, so to keep his vision from going black.

He was rather upset when she kept insisting she didn't want to go to his House moments after he had already sent the message to send the carriage. He should have thought about her condition and anticipated that her emotions would be too frazzled to do anything more that day than to melt into a bed and sleep away the horrible images that had become ingrained into her mind.

"Damn...I'm sorry 'Linda. I never wanted anything like this to happen. I'll send another note to the House, so they know why I won't be on time. The guards and I will stay to keep watch over you here. When you're ready, then we'll go, not a moment sooner. All right?"
He asked gently as he brushed the stray hair out of her face.

Then, he had no idea why, he leaned in and kissed her softly on the forehead, still holding her close. Perhaps...his fear no longer applied to this woman, which he found amazing. Perhaps, she was the one female that he actually could stand being around for longer than a few moments at a time.

Yallinda had felt high and confident before all of this began. She had felt self assured and flirty! She had been..well..happy! Light hearted as much as she could possibly be. Now she found herself reduced to clinging to a male she had, not even a hour ago, been considering impressing into her service by manipulative means! She was trying terribly hard to erase the image of that body...thunking to the ground nect to her. headless and bleeding and...Ugh! A violent shudder wracked her form. If she had been ready for it then it wouldn't have effected her so badly she was certain!

Ka'da's strangely protectiveness unsettled the fear within her. It was strange for a male she'd just met to be so...well... compassionate? When she felt his kiss upon her forehead, she found such a surprise enough to shock her from one thing to another. Yallinda turned her head and peered up at Ka'da. Goddess Bless! The male was... well..she didn't quite have a description of it...but it certainly made her want to laugh. With a shake of her head, Yallinda simply allowed her just kissed forehead to lean against Ka'da's chest.

"No..no..they will...I don't know... It will ruin my chance..." She gulped a quick breath down, and then reached into her healers bag at her side. Yallinda kept a single hand gripping upon Kada though, as if somehow he might vanish before she had managed to calm herself down completely. The entier embaressing walk through the city she wished dearly to forget. The only thing she had going for her was her Healer status in all of this.

As she peered into the bag, Yallinda had to fight the grimance that came over her petite face as she pulled a small silk pouch from her bag. Now she was forced to release Ka'da so she could untie the pouch and pinch some of the contents within between a thumb and forefinger. Her look did not fade as she looked at a coiled mass of dried red herb. In the next moments Yallinda crushed the dried plant into a fine dust between her palms, and leaned forwards to inhale the crimson dust. She paused though, and swallowed as she took a moment to reconsider the option she was about to choose.

Ka'da barely heard her muttered answer, as it was rather hard to hear what she was saying in a shaky tone. He ended up tuning her out, though he continued to hold on to her, until she was stable enough to stand on her own.

Ka'da was rather taken aback by how protective he was becoming towards Yallinda. He needed to get his emotions in check, and not be such a pushover for females who were vulnerable. He figured he was this way because of the past, and how his favorite sister had always seemed so fragile and gullible. Once upon a time that was. She definitely wasn't like that anymore.

Instead she had somehow gained confidence, and authority that she emanated whenever she walked into a room. It was enough to cow him, and cause him to nearly shake in his boots. It didn't help matters that his discipline had been handed over to her when she had shown interest in becoming a priestess. Of course, that had been short lived, but it had done it's damage to the relationship they had once had with one another. Now he despised her, and she hardly if ever paid him any mind unless one of his exploits was spoken about. And then she only spoke down to him in a rather disdainful manner.

Ka'da shook out of his thoughts on his sister Min'hyvair and focused once more on Yallinda, only to see much to his dismay her peering at her palms full of a reddish crushed up powder. She looked unsure of whether or not she should take it or not. Ka'da's hands moved almost of their own accord and closed her palms over the powder, which caused her to look up at him with a glimmer of indignation in her eyes.

"Here now, let's have none of that. Drugs aren't the smartest thing to be doing at a time like this. Besides, I doubt my Matron will hire someone who's addicted to drugs. Why don't we get you cleaned up and calmed down before we decide anything? It would probably be wiser to have a calm head before making any decisions that will affect your future employment."

Yallinda had nearly convined herself to inhale the crimson powder when ka'da placed his palm over her own. She lifted her eyes, a scowl forming upon her painted lips. How dare he! He had no right to stop her if she wanted to use the dust! Still...having the option taken away from her settled the feeling of unease.

"I...am not addicted to my herbs." She defensevily replied. "It's just something that dulls the senses a bit. Particularly those in respect to fear." Of course, without the sense of fear one tended to do things they normally would not. Such as running head on onto a sword point just to get at the weilder...or saying something to another drow that under normal circumstances you never would. There were a great many side effects to consider. Yallinda had only been thinking to get the feeling of panic and dread out of her so she could negotiate with Ka'da's matron. Still...

She shook her head slightly and exhaled a sigh. "Your speaking sense Rihn... I should take some time to calm down. It is just... This is a very good opportunity for me. I am eager to take hold of it and get situated as soon as I can. I can't tell you how many times in the past I feel like I've lost out on what could be the best opportunity of my life just because I let something hold me up..."

Ka'da jerked his hand off the moment Yallinda turned a rather baleful glare at him, stating rather strongly. "I...am not addicted to my herbs."
He was rather relieved to learn that it was merely something that was supposed to help with her nerves.

"Ah..I see. I apologize for insinuating otherwise. Forgive me."
he replied with a slight bow, cursing himself for his ignorance.

And yet at the same time, he couldn't help but wonder if the powder could help in in dealing with his paralyzing fear of women. It might be something that came of some good to him. Perhaps, he might be able to convince the Lady Yallinda allow him a small amount for his own use.

He was pulled out of these thoughts when she shook her head and agreed with him. Ka'da couldn't help but stare in astonishment at her. This was certainly a first! A female was actually agreeing with him! He'd have to write this down in his journal so that he wouldn't forget the occurrence.

"Lady 'Linda, I realize that this is a great opportunity for you, but there is really no need to hurry. The Matron of my House is very thorough as well as very particular of who she hires into the household staff. Even more so for a healer. There really is no need to hurry, take your time in calming down. I'd also suggest that we get ourselves cleaned up before we arrive."
He said this, looking over the disarray of their clothes as well as the dirt that was mottling Yallinda's dress.
"If you want to make an impression, it might as well be a good one."

With this said, he ordered the guards to wait outside the hotel, while he relayed orders to the proprietor for the two of them to use the bathing facilities and for their clothes to be cleaned.

Yallinda appreciated the submissiveness of Ka'da. She was used to dealing with coarse merchants that knew they were at least on equal grounds as she and it made for frustrating dealings. Having to listen to males all the time! Yallinda longed for the lifestyle of the Nobles. Having one of their sons act so accordingly was a temtping tease of the life she could obtain if only she was less hasty and more cautious.

Yallinda nodded her head and allowed her red eyes to sweep downwards to take into consideration her clothing. They were a bit mussed and...ugh..there were drops of blood now that she looked at them. A shiver shook her quickly before she had a chance to fight it off.

"Very well then... I will get cleaned up and redressed. I don't want these cloths anymore there bl-blood on them." She choked on the word blood, and she felt her face heat in embaressment. That was done and over with. She should not be dwelling on it! Her eyes flicked to Ka'da as he went off to make the arrangements for them.

Should she? It would not do to be too forwards again. After the shut down she had recieved in the carrige she doubted enough had changed where he would submitt completely. Not yet anyways. Once he was her's though...if she could get the Matron to agree...then she'd have him. Not just as a guide and her House attendent. Oh no. Yallinda already had hopeful plans in the making for the male. Even though she knew she shouldn't. It would make being turned away even worse for her if she was already fixed on plans for the future.

Yallinda would determin that she needed to let Ka'da bath alone. Not that she was happy about it. She waited patciently for ka'da to return and escort her to the area where she could clean up. During this time she began to shift through her bag searchingly. She had one more set of cloths... Pulling them out she bit her bottom lip. A herbal scent clung to the fabric from being at the bottom of her bag. She supposed it was not a bad scent. It certainly would declare her profession. Perhaps it would even lend a more 'realistic and professional' aura about her if she arrived wearing them?

"Rihn." She tilted her head a little as she inspected the clothing in her hand. "Your Matron. What sort of woman is she? Is she hung up on propriety and tradition, or is she a bit more realistic in the sense that she values results more then anything else?"
