My Hollow I usually cant have words in the songs or I will start to type out the song lyrics isntead of my thoughts. Which is why I find the best genre for this sort of thing to be electronica.

Usually something ambient, or something with a steady beat, which is why I said I usually studied while listening to Martin Donath.

Last year I read while listening to Buckethead's Electric Tears album, that's really the only kind of stuff I can read to. Otherwise, I get distracted and it ruins the images in my head of what I'm reading. The same goes for when I'm writing something creative on my own time, and I'm trying to get the wording of something down, I can't think of any good words other than the lyrics of what I'm hearing. For homework, though, I don't mind vocals. I actually did last night's homework while listening to Mastodon's Blood Mountain.

Personally, I go with some sort of ambient/acid trance, something like Eternal Basement, Aphex Twin, or Juno Reactor. Just about anything from Harthouse's catalog works.LIEK THISZ!!1

Also, I think I have some form of nervouse disorder, I seem to be unable to keep still. If I'm standing, I always pace or walk in circles, and if I'm sitting, I jiggle my leg while imagining metal in my head. I'm near-useless without music. If I were to just sit down and try to do homework in silence I would go crazy and want to move around. Something loud or heavy, like death metal, will get my foot tapping and I can concentrate better.

I usually listen to progressive [insert metal] when I'm studying. Recently I've been listening to Into Eternity whenever I study and/or do homework.
