Taharial landed on the soft ground with an undiscovered grace. It had been far too long since the angeni mare had left the grounds of Eden, a place she and her mate called home for their growing family for many, many moons now. Their children were all grown, flourishing in to beautiful, strong and mostly independent adults. Whereas they were proud of their children and knew that the paths they chose would eventually lead them to where they needed to be, Taharial couldn't help but feel the emptiness that surrounded Eden.
It had been a long time since the rough scampering of hooves dug in to the ground, flicking back lumps of terrain. Clumsy legs and an innocence so pure that it could only create happiness and laughter to all that surrounded it. Taharial smiled at the memories of their children and a part of her missed that. Jo and Taharial decided on a big family and whereas the first two sets of foals came quickly, days passed since were growing farther away from those happy memories.
Wind blowing softly against her four, brilliant wings, Taharial turned her head to see feathers breaking from the body and shining within the moonlight. She moved toward one of them and took the body carefully within her teeth, lowering it to the ground. Holding it there with her hoof, she then craned her neck to her ankle where her bracelets hung loosely, another feather tangled within them. Taking it from the bracelets she placed it with the other and closed her eyes, giving silent prayer.
Opening her dark sockets, she stared at the feathers, a smile warming her features shortly after and once she was reassured that the heavens would hear her prayer, she blew gently on the feathers and watched as they danced within the moonlight;as one. _________________________________
