Arry sensed he was uncomfortable with what he said. Maybe this one can be 'tamed.'

But a lady I am not...

She tipped her head to the side.

Wasn't all this bargaining done so that you were the one to tell me your story first?

She smiled broadly under her scarf. She wondered if his patience would grow thin. Cause if it was her in this situation it would be gone long ago. She was testing him. Still not trusting the rebel demon.

A small pale bird perched on her antler then and curiously stared at the two quickly moving it's head and fluttering about.

There was no question that this beast was whittling away at the last fragments of his patience. Tail of matted and filth tinged fur flicked about feverishly. Phoreko narrowed his eyes... now gaunt within the hollows of his skull. His glare seemed to peel through the layers of her own as he lurched a clawed paw outward. The motion was quick, almost undetectable, and within that breath... his claws sunk within her pristine coat.

My parents... they were each bound to a notorious criminal: murders, rapists, robbers. They were scum, but they took on the responsibility proudly. Unfortunately, the place that these abominations called home was highly superstitious. It was here that I was born.

Silvern blades continued to attempt to seek deeper into the warmth of her flesh.

The locals discovered the existence of my parents. There was a rebellion... they confronted both the criminals and my parents. Accusations flew in regards to black magic, devil worshiping and the land being plagued by the presence of demons. My mother attempted to hide me away, but they seized me in an instant. They beat me repeatedly, attempting to get my parents to stand down quietly... my father wouldn't have it. He lunged, he was shot and killed, as was his charge. By this time, my jaw was completely shattered... useless...

Ages had passed since he last showed even a twinge of emotion other than malice. In an attempt to repress the emotional maelstrom, the mate of his buried talons drove into the female's opposing paw.

My mother offered herself as collateral so that I may be spared. While she was "surrendering"... they threw me aside, setting the hounds of the village on me. Her eyes... she was desperate, trying to arrive at my side. She was killed as well.

The dogs... those mangy beasts... they ate at my already broken and bleeding face, stripping me of what meat was left. Only after both of my parents and their charges were dead... did the Winiko intervene.

A blaze with rage, his once emerald eyes radiated with a heat that distorted their hue to that of ebony.

Humans destroyed my family... Winiko destroyed me. Each a vile excrement... neither should be permitted to live.

Small droplets of blood merged from under his claws. She stared him in his green hued eyes...never twitching. With a blink she phased on top of him. Her bird like talons dung into his tattered pelt as she gripped his shoulders.

She dipped her head down as if to whisper it in his ear.A tragic soul you are...

I was first summoned to a dark queen during the medieval ages. She dealt with the black arts and was as evil as they come. She kept me a secret from them all, and manipulated me into doing her bidding while I was young. I never knew any better.

Months passed I grew. Her grip on me tightened as I was sworn to be her 'protector.' There we're family feuds during that time over who should get the throne. She wanted it. That was quite clear when She sent me to make away with her competition, her twin brother.

It was the night of the Samhain. Many men and women were very drunk on what they call wine and ale. The lady thought this would be a perfect time to let me be known. It was after all the night when demons roamed free...apparently.
She paused for a second. I seen no others.

I was to wait till her brother was dragged away by some whore to make my move. I watched and waited till it was time. I stalked though the trees as fire light played off my form. Those who did catch a glance of me cowered in fear, to drunk to move.

I made it to my destination; a large sized tent. Two guards were positioned in the front. I made away with them quickly. I shifted into the tent and readied myself for the kill. It was quick..A slash across the throat to drown out any screams to come and what happened next changed me forever.

I heard yells and screams from behind and a familiar voice. It was 'My Lady' She grabbed the brazier and knocked it onto my face yelling "Monster, King murder, ...demon." I was confused. I slashed my way though the tent and ran. My face stung and throbbed. I looked back, I don’t know why. Men armed with guns and torches where everywhere. They hunted for me all night.

I made it back to My Lady’s hold. She was there keeled over on the floor her back to me. “What...have...you...done!” She was angry. She said she just wanted it to look like a demon attack. She laughed maniacally gripping at her dress and crying. She turned then to face me. Her face was blistered and burned. What she didn’t know was that when she shed her blood for the summon we were connected. When she hurt me she hurt herself.

I ended the bond there that night.
And that was all she wrote. Arry phased to the upper branch and looked at the burning setting sun.

Before she had sought haven atop of him, Phoreko licked at his talons, lapping away at the crimson droplets that had begun to seep within the crevices of broken cartilage. It had been abrupt and highly unexpected as she reciprocated the invasion of personal space. Initially, he was appalled, ready to attack yet as time lapsed... the proximity was unusually comforting.

Two unfortunate souls we are... he muttered as her tale came to a close, and as quickly as she had named his silhouette as a temporary home, she had phased elsewhere. A rather lazy arch of his neck allowed him to glance up towards the marblesque (totally made that word up XD) creature.

And to think a Winiko, having adopted the visage of a bird of paradise, would have its wings clipped so... a chuckle emitted from the hollows of his exposed skull. While rotating his shoulders, traces of blood cascaded down a long his matted hide before he continued on.

I suppose even those at polar opposites of the spectrum share similarities.

Arry looked down at him then. She was still in a daze.

I should get back 'home'...

She looked back at the setting sun and stared off again and flexed her paws.

My new bonded is okay...I guess. She cares more for me than any other did.

She almost teared up then but she kept it in. She was thinking back on her previous existence.

I shouldn't let her worry...I know she does when I'm away.

Her stomach growled. ((mine just did xD;;; )) Maybe she would grab a snack of some poor innocent creature before heading home. She stood up, flexed her wings and looked back down on him and paused.

Arry is what they call me.

So quick to flee after their exchange of information. Surely there was a way to ensure what he had confided in her would remain hidden away from any other living soul... especially this bonded of hers. Unhinging his limbs from their folded position, he cantered along the branch he had been lounging upon until he was able to grasp hold of one of her tail feathers.

Phoreko...

And with a generous amount of force, he pulled a single plume from her bouquet. She'd be angry, he was well aware, but he did not care.

You'll do well to keep me out of any conversation... he said while lifting the feather for her to see.

Had circumstances shown themselves to be malicious in anyway, he would not refrain from plucking away at her until the once majestic beast was nothing more but a grotesque image of her former self. With that, he wound the feather about his tail, a deranged trophy, before leaping down to the palpable soil below.

She twitched as he pulled out one of her feathers.

No worries deary on that I don't really talk with any of them anyway...She spread her wings and glided to the ground landing lightly near him.

Well I had a delightful time... She said with some harshness in her voice. But if you ever pluck another feather from me you will be sorry so help me. Her eyes burned at him. She flicked her tail in his face as she walk away. She increased her pace, spread her wings and took to the air following the path that led out of the forest.

She wondered when she would see him again.

With a snort and quick flick of his tail, Phoreko began to wade through a patch of thick brush. Glancing back toward his souvenir he caught a glimpse of the descending sun, now plunging into a opaque sea along the horizon. A gradual distortion of the space about him manifested, yawning into a gaping chasm for him to pass through.

Until next time...

In an instant the ever unstable maw plunged about his silhouette until the only evidence of his presence was several droplets of crimson dew.
