The books are hopelessly cheesy and the further into the story the more fan-ficish and weird things get. But I still enjoy them (and picking them apart in comic form same as I do Harry Potter-which I don't care what people say is a no contest wiiner over Twilight...) Sort of a guilty pleasure I've heard it called, I'm fully aware of how bad they are yet I couldn't put them down because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. And they do have their moments. I was cringing through most of the fourth book but the feathers had me cracking up.

I like midnight premiers, they're very hyper and fun I went to the midnight premier of the last 2 pirates, Indiana Jones, and every Harry Potter since the third one (I go to big book releases too), so I figured I'd go to this one too even though I didn't hold out much hope for the movie. ....The movie sucked. It had a few small moments but overall I hated it. All the charachters were either over done or under done with very little balance and everythings was so choppy and rushed and all the swoopy camera panning and cheap special effects just made it look like an amatuer low budget crap film. Charlie was the best portrayed character and one of the best acted and funniest.

What was fun is that I live just about an hour south of where most of the film was shot so me and my friends kept recognizing places we know. I've also been to the real Port Angeles and Forks and even though it was kinda cool to have a movie shot so close to home they may as well have travelled the 2-3 hours north of where they shot to where the book really took place if only for some of their outdoor scenic shots, we nearly had a spazzed out laugh attack when Edward and Bella monkey jumped over Multnomah falls (with the tourist trap food lodge and visiting center at it's bottom conveniently cropped out of the shot). And turns out my sister graduated with the guy who plays Embry, she didn't know him but a bunch of her friends do.

And theres more...

When in the movie they're supposed to be at Fisrt Beach in La Push and you see that lighthouse out in the middle of horizon on a rock surrounded by nothing but water....

That's Tillamook Rock, also known as Terrible Tilly. Natives have considered that rock evil for years and it's extremely dangerous. The lighthouse was finally closed in part because it was so dangerous to get to and dangerous and miserable to live on that supply ships kept smashing into the rocks and keepers kept falling into the sea or going insane. Over 17 people were killed there because of the horrible conditions.

But it's what's going on there now that makes it really snicker worthy to see in the scenery of a romance movie. The place is now privately owned and people rent space in it to store their loved one's ashes. That's right, that lighthouse is full of human remains and ghosts, but oh it's such a romantic view. xd

Edit: I guess there were only like 30 urns and then 2 were stolen in 91. The owners lost their license in 99 and keep trying to renew it, but the old urns are still out there.

I found out I had my friend of mine play in that movie, it wasn't major parts or anything, he just played as a back face. That's because they had a lot of the shots in Oregon I hear, and I had him telling me he was going to be in a vampire movie, I just didn't expect it to be this one. I didn't care to see it, and so many people told me it wasn't that great anyway, compared to the book that is.

The books have a decent premise, but didn't have the writing skills to back it up.
The last book just seemed like she was rushing to get the book done and that she didn't really want to write it.

Haven't read the books, don't plan too...
Saw the movie, wasn't as horrible as I expected.
It sure it great when you make main characters horribly over powerd...
My favorite character had about 3 minutes of screen time...
go Laurent!

I dont believe that this book is "girly" as i know many guys who have read it and love it and they are not gay (they've read all four though and i must say that others a less girly than the first but again the first isnt much anyway) its just the fact that all non twilight readers tend to hear is about how amazing edward is or just about edward from his fan girls. and grrr cant see the film until 19th december mad

The movie received way too much hype for what it was. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't exactly 5 stars either. The beginning was excruciatingly dry, and characterization was severely lacking.

I've never read the book, but I've heard that has received too much hype as well. All in all, I think Twilight is way too overdone considering what it is.

In honest fact the movie sucked in my opinion, it's because i read the book first, hell that was in awesome book, but the movie totally wrecked the story, it seriously pissed me right off...

I read all 4. Awesome story... But the word "sigh" and any variation was extremely over-used (and "chagrin"). A little heavy on romance at times yet it made up for it. The movie was a bit hacked up ... But we all agree it wasnt as lame as the Eragon movie where everything was rushed, The elves did not have pointy ears, and the dwarves were taller than they should have been.
