I like to just walk down an isle of the library and grab the first spine that jumps out at me. When I'm feeling particularly lazy I just walk through the featured literature section. Otherwise I keep an ear out for anything my friends have read and loved.

I usually ask the children's librarian at my local library. I have been in there a couple times a week, every week, for the past 10 years or so, so she's able to make a pretty good assessment of what I would like to read. Occasionally my friends will recommend something, but they don't really read as much...

I've been browsing book blogs over the past couple of weeks and have found that it's a pretty good way to come across interesting books.

I find out about a lot of new reads via the net (especially on Gaia).

and sometimes i get tips online. often i ask the librarian or the personal in the bookstore about the new books and recommendations they have :3

Mostly through Amazon recommendations because most of the people I know read repetitive romance novels so I don't ask them for recommendations.

I check Fantastic Fiction They have a section on New Releases. If you want to know if your favorite author is releasing anything, just type their name under "author" or "favorite author", I can't remember which. It'll let you know when any new books are coming out.

I hear about new books through book blogs on blogspot.com. Readers review the books they read and if they seemed to like or if it catches my attention I added to my LONG wish-list to reserve at the library.
Also, I am very fond of the BN website since there are many spotlight books on the Teen section of the site. That and I just randomly look at people's reading lists on the website as well and if a cover/title catches my eye then I add it.
