I'm a friend, honest. So don't go chewing on me. Anezka smiled and kneeled down, putting her hand out to the dog, glancing up at it's owner, "Rana? That's a nice name." She looked up and smiled at Mǽja, "Are you alright? Hope my snooping didn't scare you...I'm a horribly curious person." She then glanced at the stewing man, smirking "Rabbit Stew, eh? Blech!"

Both twins were quiet for a moment as both contemplated exactly what to say as they studied the strange girl. Mǽja then smiled kindly, "Oh no, I was just afraid that dog, " she said dog with obvious dislike, "was going to ah.... hurt you or somthing. Everything seems fine though. I'm afraid we aren't very interesting, just painting."
Frdrik came closer but kept his distance just so he could study the new girl more. He smirked, "No rabbit stew then....pork maybe? Ahhh and we haven't introduced ourselves yet, bad manners on my part, I'm Fridrik and that is my sister Mǽja," He motioned to Mǽja with a wave of his hand.

"I'm not a fan of meat...but a nice vegetable soup sounds good, "Anezka laughed then held out her hand to her hesitant new acquaintance, "My name's Anezka...Ani...It's nice to meet you." Seeing that she probably wouldn't receive a handshake just yet, she gestured in the direction of Varekai, "I live way up there, with my mother Leshya'e. Are you all joining up with Valelldia?"

Fridrik nodded, " I can't recall if we have much vegetables left...... Ah yes we are.." He began to respond to her last question but Mǽja interrupted, "until Fridrik decided our wagon needed to be more 'presentable' so he thought we should finish painting it." She crossed her arms, "I told him it looked fine but he insisted on it......If we had some help we may actually be able to finish some century," She glanced at the two others.
"Mǽja!" Fridrik hissed drawing both hands down his face.
"What! I'm just saying it would go faster!" She sighed, at least she had tried.
"Eh I guess it would. Maybe if you guys wouldn't mind, we don't have much more to do. I can offer you some lunch, possibly vegetable soup if we have the ingredients?" Fridrik eyed the wagon. They really only needed to fix up Mǽja's side and finish a few more flowers on the other.

Food? two pairs of ears pricked up at the idea.
Zak raised his hand "I've done some painting, nothing special though" he lent over and picked up the brush that was in the pink base coat's bucket "so I'll leave the flowery things alone then an' just work on this coat" he smiled for a half second and got to work. first going over the wet areas to smooth them out and push the thick drips of hasty paint around to a more even coating across the side. that would need to dry for about a day or so before it could be done again.
Painting the doodads was for afterwards, but this is not my wagon I do not tell them how to run it, thought Zak the other girl (anna right? stupid names) was a nother one of the worrying people, she was little buck toothed certainly but otherwise unremarkable, then why do I have the heebie-jeebies? Zak shivered and focused on painting. Rana watching Zak picked up on his unease and flattening her ears a little went to lay down on the grass over by the wagon. gotta keep an eye on things. yeah.

"I'd love to help, "Ani said with a nod of her head, "And I just happen to be a fabulous flower painter...well, that's about the only thing I can paint...but I can do it very well, best to focus on what you're good at, right?" She glanced at the large man, did she miss it, what was his name? Regardless, He certainly wasn't comfortable with her presence. But that was to be expected, since not everyone knew of her kind. She shrugged slightly, then picked up a paintbrush and started to "pretty-up" the wagon. "I wouldn't worry about being presentable, we're not a vain group. Even with an old wagon or no wagon at all, you'd still be welcomed!"

Zak snickered a bit at the thought of the gypsies being picky about their company "Well they picked Me out of the gutter they did"said Zak
Gods, this is a horrible shade of pink "And Welcomed, right, they did that" said Zak, he grinned as he painted at an interior joke I'm a block of cheap labor I am, will work for clean bandages and table-scraps, all things hauled, some skill with murderous giant horses. I should ask about salt pork in the soup. no I shouldn't, it's their salt pork. no, I should, veggie soup is not good with out it. no it's rude and it's their soup and it's not like I can fix the hashed paint job anyway, but, but, so hungry! Zak re-wetted the mangy brush and walked around the back of the wagon to the unpainted areas carefully spreading paint on the flat bits.
Rana was bored this was boring why is this soooo boring I wanna go boss around the giant grass-fart things why do we have to sit here and be boring I am so bored there isn't even any food she let her head rest on her front paws and twitched her eyebrows with a gusty sigh at speckled guy as he put smelly gunk on the square thing.

Tamlin was wandering aimlessly trying to clear her mind of dark fortunes and a suddenly appeared fluffy masked raccoon. the more she thought the more she was convinced that both events were tied to the Meij.
she looked behind her, the raccoon was still following her. when she had left the wagon she had summarily left with her. that i definitely no normal raccoon, she is here for a reason and obviously wants to be with me she thought.
suddenly her deep pondering was broken by the sound of voices, some of which were familiar to her. "what is Zak doing out here? Ki usually has him working on something with the horses or wagon." Tamlin started picking her way towards the conversation, her curiosity raised.
Her senses (and curiosity) far superior to a humans, the raccoon had long ago realized there were people nearby, the sound of human chatter mixed along with the smell of food and something else unnatural and strong. She also noted the woman's paced had changed from the slow wandering that ambled in no particular direction, and was now making a steady line towards the sound. well, if that's where we are going, I'll go first and see what's to be seen She darted ahead and as she approached the group skillfully climbed up a nearby tree to view the scene and wait for the woman.
Tamlin, startled by the raccoon's quick movement, wondering if something was wrong ran after it. she burst into the group of people out of breath from her dash and looked around. yep, she was right, there was Zak, but the others she didn't recognize at all or as well. then she realized the raccoon wasn't anyway in site
"hey, has anyone here seen a raccoon run through here?"

Anezka looked up from her painting, "Raccoon?" She gave her surroundings a quick once-over, then shrugged her shoulders, "No, sorry, wasn't really paying much attention. Is it important that you find it?"

Damn, a varmint, probably got into Tam's storage. "Where was it headed?" said Zak, putting down the paint brush and wiping his hands (vainly for the most part) on the grass "I'll go get my shovel"
Rana stood up on alert at Zak's agitation and started sniffing the air. thing, new thing, over here, She walked around past Tam sniffing the air. smells like garbage and musk she went over to the tree paced around it and started barking excitedly "Wharf Wharf Bark" she wagged her tail and flattened her ears, stupid tree getting in my way she pawed at the tree and pointed at it with a paw still barking "Wharf Narf Yark yark YARK" I found a thing I found it I found a thing in a tree and I found it! Look Speckle Guy Look Look Look!

"YES! its impor... I mean, I'm not sure..." Tamlin burst out. "but I get the feeling i should look out for her, I mean she followed me all the way here"
"oh no no no, it's not like that Zak!" she "this raccoon, she ended up in our wagon, and then the bag disappeared, and all the fortunes and everything is just weird so i took a walk and she just followed me, i think she is important so i dont want to lose her..." Tamlin's words just fell out one after another she didn't even notice the dog or its frantic barking.
Alais practically fell out of the tree, what was that loud annoying furry thing making that racket at -her- tree?! She let out a growl and puffed her tail up in warning. go find your own tree
"I guess it's not that important. animals have a good sense of direction right? if she wants to come back she can." Tamlin it her lip in slight worry "anyway, what's going on here?" she addressed the unfamiliar people in the gathering. "you aren't from the caravan, are you traveling through here? traders?" she asked.

Fridrik could relax at least knowing that the wagon was going to be finished and that the two said the caravan was very accepting but he was seriously debating about changing the color, Mǽja had convinced him pink would compliment the wagons general color scheme but it was pink!
"This will be so much more fun now with all of you here!" She reached down for a brush but Fridrik caught her, "You can start cutting up all the vegetables Mǽja" He wasn't sure if that was the greatest way to get her to not ruin the paint job again, she might lop off a finger or two. "Just be careful." He warned. Both twin's attention was then abruptly moved from each other to the new woman who was chasing after a raccoon.
"Raccoons are cute." Mǽja said to no one in particular so Fridrik adressed the woman's questions.
"Well we were hoping to join the caravan but got sidetracked with painting this thing. We've sort of recruited some help. " He smiled, "I'm afraid I haven't caught sight of your raccoon either."
Mǽja narrowed her eyes as she heard the dog barking, "Hey Zak will you tell your dog to stop." she said a bit nervously, maybe it was trying to eat something else....

"Bark BARK BARK! barketey bark wharf" look! look! a thing A THING I TELL YOU! the thing looked angry, perhaps if it were to come down out of the stupid tree it would run when chased. that would be quite glorious "Bark BARK BARKBARK BARK"
"there's hot food in the offing" said Zak with a theatrical elbow and eyebrow waggle oh right dog Rana, she must not like them, "no worries"said Zak waving a hand at the blond woman.
"Rana, shush!" said Zak, walking towards her, there appeared to be something in the tree that was rattling the branches, I wonder what it... holy hells that is an angry looking raccoon. he made a grab for the scruff of Rana's neck and towed her backwards away from the tree. "Wharf!" said Rana triumphantly.
"Tam? uhh, I think I uhh, found your beast, ya sure you didn't want me to kill it for you?"said Zak nodding his head at the angry tree. 'cause you know it's wild you can't keep it like a pet, it's'za same problem as bears, once they learn to steal they don't stop.

"aahh newcomers, how splendid! where ye be coming from?" Tamlin asked, eager to know her new companions. a full set of introductions and questions on her lips were forgotten momentarily by Zak's dog and the ruckus the two were making.
"you found her? oh no, definitely no, don't kill her and by all means keep the dog away, it's probably provoking it. the 'coon would win anyway and i don't want to stitch up friends after a fight." Tamlin was glad to see Zak was indeed keeping the dog away.
she walked over to the tree and sure enough, there was the little raccoon. "come on down now, the dog is just making noise."
she hadn't intended on coming down, her tree was the perfect place to observer until she found something interesting enough to bare closer inspection, but not doing so now would have been silly. she donned a look that said clearly oh well, if it will make you happy, I suppose i could descend. she then picked her way down the tree. skirting around the loud annoying thing, perfectly ignoring its presence, she then bounded upon Tamlin's shoulders and lay there contentedly. I suppose i can view everything well from here, although she is much shorter then a tree.
"She isn't a pet, but she seems to have decided to stay with me." Tamlin shrugged her shoulders, complete with coon shawl, at Zak. "besides, she is clean and adorable!"
"wow" Tamlin said, taking a good look at the wagon for the first time "that's quite a vivid paint job. anything i can do to help? oh! I'm Tamlin by the way. Tamlin Maire Sorcha, pleasure to meet you both. I also just recently joined the caravan, I'd be happy to help you out and introduce you to the others in the caravan."

“Ah well then it is a pleasure to meet you too Tamlin. I’m Fridrik and this is my sister Mǽja.” He gave a quick rigid bow while Mǽja waved then called out something about getting to the vegetables and disappeared into the wagon. “We would appreciate the help. We are just finishing up some of the flowers and repainting a few messes. You’re welcome to stay for lunch too. I’ll get working on it once Mǽja has some of the vegetables ready.”
If Mǽja was here he would have happily stated that painting the wagon was a good idea after all because now they have three acquaintances from the caravan. “That would be most helpful.” He added, responding to her offer for introductions. Though he rather disliked introductions and meeting the gods know how many people it had to be done.
“So you two both recently joined the caravan.” He stated glancing at Tamlin and Zak, “What about you?” he nodded at Anezka, still trying to figure out what exactly the girl was. It also donned on him that he hadn’t answered the raccoon adorned woman’s first question, “As to where we come from, well it’s a bit of a long tale but we left our last caravan.” He offered a quick half-hearted smile to hide the frown he was sure he was wearing and continued studying Zak’s work, he managed to fix all the rushed painting, “Eh you aren’t a bad painter.”
