Gir was all for talking while he nibbled on his candy. He didn't want to eat it all just yet. He wanted to save it for later since he didn't know when he'd be able to get more. He settled down happy on the floor, a place he was use to sitting in abandoned houses. After all it was where he normally lived. A different house every day, at least different to him. "What did Lady Imordana need Gir for? She said she needed an illusionist. And she knows Gir is an illusionist." As if to prove the point he looked down at a piece of his candy. It suddenly sprouted legs and did a little dance before stopping. Gir giggled and clapped at his little performer before turning back to the female.

((Oh dear lord...Gir is so freaking awesome!)))
When Imordana realized he was all for talking while he was eating his candy, she tried to word what she wanted to say simply enough for him to understand. She paused for a moment to stare at the dancing candy and held back a chuckle. He really got into his illusions and having fun with them.

"I need Gir to help me play tricks on my older stupid brothers. The younger one...Gir'branur that is pretty mean and hates me. He'd do bad things to both me and Gir. The older one, Ad'hemar...well he's not as mean but can be pretty rude at times. Gir will have to be careful what illusions he uses on them..but don't worry. I will make sure they don't harm Gir. It would be a lot of fun to play around with them, and Gir will have his own room next to my own as well as good food. It looks like Gir hasn't had a good meal in a long time. Would Gir like that?"

Imordana suddenly had a thought that it might be wise to let him know she didn't look normal before hand so that if he wouldn't be shocked to see her without the cowl. She looked at him for a moment, gauging how he might react, biting her lip in thought. If he reacted badly...it could have an adverse affect on her if he used an illusion on her and drove her mad. Or he might not even care. She eventually made up her mind.

"Gir, I need to show you something before you agree to work for me, okay? First...I should tell you that I don't look like normal drow, I'm missing something most drow have. I don't want to scare you but.."
Here she pulled her cowl off of her face slowly, revealing her empty sockets to the young drow. "I don't have any eyes. You don't have to be afraid Gir, I'm not going to hurt you."

Gir listened to her talk about the current job and what he would get in return. Hesmiled at the idea of actually being ALLOWED to play tricks on people. These brothers seemed like bad boys and should be punished for being mean to Lady Imordana. He was already thinking of a few things he could do, but he would have to see them first. He was also thinking of a nice meal and a nice bed. He nodded when asked if he would like that. "Yes! Gir would like that very much! He will make his bed like a good boy and keep his room clean! He will do his dishes if Lady Imordana wishes."

Then she seemed to be worried about something. Gir at first thought she was worried about his powers but then she mentioned it was something about her. She didn't have something that others did? Well Gir immediately thought maybe a leg or arm was fake. Finally she revealed that she had no eyes. Gir stopped for a moment and looked at her. He did not seem scared, more like childish curiousity. He didn't understand how it happened but she seemed to get around just fine without them. He smiled brightly. "Gir is not scared of Lady Imordana! She is very pretty even without eyes!"

((uh oh...Gir is totally getting on 'Dana's good side. I don't think she'll let him go anytime soon smile ))

Imordana couldn't help but smile at his over enthusiastic response, when he offered to wash his dishes, she almost couldn't take it anymore.
"Oh no, no...you don't have to wash dishes dear Gir. That's what the servants are for."

And when he just stared at her face with a mild curiousity in his eyes, she was pretty stunned. Most drows reacted in horror when they saw her face and would usually be outright hostile towards her because of her obvious deformity. Imordana felt an odd stirring in her chest, as though her heart were going to break from the odd emotions that were rushing through her. She had to lean over and take in several deep breaths before she was ready to respond to what he said next.

"T-thank you Gir. That's very nice of you to say. Most other drow don't seem to think so, but let's not worry about that. Why don't I go take you to a bathhouse were you can clean up before we go to my House? It would be better if you showed up clean and ready for work."
She replied, with a mischievious grin.

Gir frowned when she said others had been mean to her. Gir was unusual in his thinking because he was use to being left out and looked at with disgust and horror. But this was a female of power and obviously wealth so why would she be looked at that way? And she could see depsite it. That confused him too but he got over it. "Lady Imordana shouldn't listen to silly mean people." Perhaps it was Gir's child mentality but he didn't understand why not having eyes was a big deal. After all they lived in the dark and most things that lived in the dark were blind. Drow just could see well in the dark. It made sense that the female did not have eyes and could easily get around without them. His simplistic mind concluded that quite quickly.

He blinked as she talked about taking him to a bath house and cleaning himself up. While Gir did not smell bad he didn't take regular baths. Normally he snuck into a rain barrel or a near by river. He looked down at himself then looked up like a child who had done something wrong. "Is Gir too dirty for Lady Imordana? He is sorry. He does not have a bath and is not allowed in the bath house. He made a giant snake come out of one of the baths last time and they got mad." He hung his head like a child caught with a cookie before dinner.

Imordana was surprised by simplistic yet insightful comment Gir made next.
She nodded, and replied. "You're right, I shouldn't listen to them. Its not as though their opinions matter any more than my own. "
She got to her feet and wiped the dust that clung to her dark gray leggings, looking up with surprise and inward mirth at his "encounter" at the bath house. She grinned, and told him.
"Oh, don't worry about that. The bathhouse proprieters wouldn't dream of denying me business, whoever I bring with me. Shall we go then, Gir?" She asked, getting to her feet and moving towards the door.
"Is there anything else Gir needs? Perhaps some new clothing? If not, I'll see that Gir's clothing is washed while Gir is bathing."

Gir looked thoughtful for a moment as he considered her offer. New clothes, it was an interesting idea since no one really knew what he was actually wearing. "Gir has clothes, but never the same. Gir's clothes real old. Had them since he was in port. But he does not want to impose upon his lady. He will be a big boy and buy new clothes with his money....after he buys his candy!" He laughed all the way to the bathhouse. The proprietors were immediately apprehensive about letting the mad little drow into their bathhouse but they agreed only because of Imordana and that Gir agreed to bath in a private bath house away from the other customers.

While Gir had a merry time in the water, an attendant approached Imordana. She had Gir's clothing, which was not colorful what so ever. They were old, ragged, and worn. Brown and dirty these were not the colorful fabrics Gir normally looked like he was wearing. That had confused the attendant as she had seen Gir walk inside in what appeared to be very nice well kept clothing. "What shall we do with these Madam? They are hardly worth wearing though he was not wearing them when he came in."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 17, 2008 4:05 pm

(((BYA...feel free to rp the tailor as well)))
Imordana's eyebrows shot up when Gir spoke about his clothes never being the same. Was it possible that he used an illusion to make them appear colorful and well kept? She pondered this for a moment. What if his clothes were ratty and torn apart? She supposed she would see what they really looked like once he had taken them off.
"Why don't you let me figure that out. Let's go to the bathhouse first."
She was quiet the entire way to the bathhouse, muddling over other matters in her head while Gir laughed merrily the entire trip there.

It took her awhile to convince the proprietors that they should allow him inside, she took them aside for a few minutes to discuss it with them. After a little prodding, and they agreed to let Gir use a private bathhouse.

Imordana settled down to wait until Gir was done, and wasn't too surprised when the attendant brought out ragged, worn and dirty fabrics out to her. She grimaced at the smell emanating from them, lifted a hand and waved the attendant away saying with disdain, "Burn them of course! Someone must have filched his clothes while your back was turned. I'll let you get away with it this once. And if you can, go fetch me a tailor...the fellow needs some new clothing anyways."
The attendant's eyes grew wide, and her mouth dropped at the implication but caught sight of the scowl beginning to form on Imordana's face and immediately closed her mouth and left to carry out the tasks asked of her.

Imordana felt a laugh emanate deep inside her belly, and seconds later let it loose. Ah..it felt good to mess around with people. How she had missed it. She turned serious when the attendant returned with a tailor toting his wares and supplies. She nodded to the attendant, and flicked several coins at the girl before turning her full attention to the tailor.
"Now..the fellow in question likes elaborate, decorated clothing. As well as bright colors, think you can help me out?" She inquired.

The tailor nodded respectfully to the female and began to prepare his spot for the young drow he would be making clothes for. "Absolutely my lady. Here are my basic clothes, I shall be more than happy to make changes as the gentleman requires." He already had pants and a vest made, they were simple and easily altered to fit the wearer's preferences. And speaking of the wearer....

"Lady Imordana, has Gir's clothes been washed?" The innocent child wandered out with merely a towel wrapped around his body. He looked so waif like and skinny. He really needed some good meals. He blinked as an older drow immediately went over and started taking his measurements. He finished and mended the basic sets to his size then asked what colors he wanted. "Colors? Is Gir getting knew clothes?"

"Why yes young boy. Your wonderful Lady has requested my services to fashion you some lovely new clothes." He smiled to Imordana then back to the boy.

Gir blinked then smiled brightly. "My Lady is too kind to Gir! Gir likes these colors!!" He went over and pointed out what he wanted, making some of the most colorful clothes but they resembled the clothes he normaly held as an illusion. In a matter of an hour his clothes were ready and he looked quite stunning. "Thank you Lady Imordana! Gir will work very hard to deserve such kindness!"

Imordana was quite shocked to see how slender the young drow was. The bones of his ribs could be easily counted even from the five foot distance she had from him. She frowned, her eyebrows furrowing in contemplation of what he would need to regain a healthy appearance.

Filling food, instead of candy would be the first thing that she insisted upon, even though she was sure that might be a hard battle of wills. Then there would have to be some conditioning of the body, which she was sure she could find someone to take care of training Gir. Though...that too might be something he would be adverse to.

She figured that he would be non too pleased with her plans. Though...she figured that as long as she gave him enough free range to use his illusions on her brothers he might not mind too much. She hoped that the glimmer of sadism that she had seen behind his eyes wasn't self inflicting. She'd have to try and find him some help if that was so. She couldn't stand people who were crazy which was pretty evident with how hard she was working to get rid of her Matron.

She smiled at Gir's enthusiastic questions and the manner in which the tailor dealt with Gir. It was nice for a change to be surrounded by professionals, unlike those at home. She often felt like thrashing half of the slaves for the insubordination and obvious rudeness that they displayed towards her. They should know better than to do such a thing.

Gir's cheerfulness was making her attitude change, she noticed. Every time he got happy and over enthusiastic about something it rubbed off on her and she found herself smiling...something she hadn't done in years.
"I'm glad you like the colors Gir. All I really want from you is your best Gir, and I'm pretty sure that won't be a problem for you. Now that you're all cleaned up and dressed nicely, why don't we return to my House? The dinner hour is approaching and I'm betting you're probably getting hungry." Imordana told the young drow with a slight smile on her face.

"Gir is hungry. But Gir does not want to take food away from his Lady. So he will only eat what is necessary." He looked like an obediant dog as he stood next to the female. In fact his choker did have a small ring on the front like a collar. Gir didn't seem to take good care of himself, he kept clean and ate when he could but he did not do anything in excess. Well his illusions he did. Perhaps that was why he was so thin, the constant use of magic taxing his body. Some had wondered if he was well feed just how powerful his magi could be.

As they walked he seemed much more like a child who was looking foward to a present. He kept smiling back to Imordana and telling her how happy Gir was to be serving the Lady. From his words and manners he had been trained for servitude, it was too obvious. Males in Gir's family were trained to serve all females and he had excelled in his studies. But Gir never spoke about his past, in any way. In fact he would change the subject if asked. But it wouldn't take much for Imordana to find out about his dead house; Imad'rk's had been completely whiped out. Most side families had been killed as well.

"Don't you worry about that Gir, there's always more than plenty food in the House." Imordana replied as she lead Gir out of the bathhouse and down through the marketplace towards the main street of Undrek'Thoz.
She frowned to herself, going over the herbs that she had needed to buy from the marketplace when she had been distracted by Gir's illusions. She decided to get them before she went back to the House, and made her way purposely towards a herbalist's tent that she knew wouldn't try to rip her off. There was one person in front of her, she tried to wait as patiently as she could, but could feel it ebbing away as the male in front of her continued to chat on and on with the vendor.

Finally, her anger getting the better of her, she pushed the male aside, glowering at him when he began to protest. The male's eyebrows shot up in shock as well as horror when he spied her empty eye sockets. He stumbled off without another look back. Imordana smiled, her most toothy, malicious smile ever and handed over the list of herbs to the vendor.
The vendor glanced at her warily, then took the piece of paper and went about gathering the herbs she needed. In a few moments they were bundled up and the vendor stated a price that made Imordana grimace.
"I'll give you twelve silvers for the lot." She said, eyeing the male with a frown.
"I won't let it go for less than 30." The drow hissed back, glancing momentarily over at Gir.
"15, or I'll let Gir play one of his "games" every day around your tent." Imordana replied, glancing over at Gir to see if he liked the idea.

"Oh boy!!! Games!!!" Gir clapped happily at the idea of being allowed to actually play his games. Having permission made it much more fun. He glanced about, as if observing what he could use around here to play his type of games. Then he looked to the vender. "OH! Hello!! Gi remembers you! You gave Gir candy if he would go away last week!" He said this as if it were a good memory. Of course it was because he had gotten candy.

The vender looked to Gir then had a sudden look of horror. "You....you....you can't say that! Gir is houseless! Everyone here in the marketplace knows that! He...he won't really listen to you!!" The vender looked frightened. Gir's games were well known by venders, most people just didn't know his name. Gir was usually "that mad drow" or "that scary drow" on everyone's lips. Most venders shooed him away from their booth or plied him with candy to go away.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 20, 2008 4:21 pm

(((tis short...sorry)))
A smile of pure evil engulfed Imordana's face at the sheer panic on the vendor's face. She turned slowly and put her finger to her lips for Gir to be quiet, then she turned back to the vendor.
"Are you so sure about that? Gir, let's not play games here. Let's wait until you meet my brothers before you play any games, alright?" She asked, looking pointedly over at Gir.

"Ok!! Gir will do as his Lady says! He will wait here for her" He smiled happily and sat playing with some sand while his lady shopped. Gir wasn't hard to entertain, at least if you were an inanimate object. If you were a living thing then you should be concerned when he wants to play with you. Small sand creatures were created, fighting each other. Even some large vicious looking sand spiders attacked helpless drow. Gir of course made lots of sound effects.

The vender looked horrified. Gir was listening to her. He had never done that before, not even to the other female venders. He wondered how the eyeless drowess had gotten Gir under her power. He stammered out.."P-p-please good lady. At least give me 20 for the herbs, for some are hard to get and I must pay extra to the caravans for their safe delivery." He was begging now, but like all drow he was not going to just give in. He was obviously still afraid Gir would really start playing his games. Once before, a Vender had swung at him, a jewelry vender. Gir made his jewelry come to life and choke him into unconciousness. Only when another vender offered the drow candy did he stop his attack.
