Also, I like that paper/rock/scissors style fighting game. I got all the way to the invisible guy before getting my rear handed to me.

Well all the things you guys have mentioned are not completely useless. IE dressing up cloud got him a different result for don Corneo. all the games in the saucer also did a little function of entertainment and or prizes u could use in the gameplay itself, wether it be as lowly as a potion even. and Wutai was meant to be difficult-ish to find Yuffie, that's the part of the game they didn't want you to be able to finder her right off the bat like that.
No my favorite useless thing in the FF7 games is something that truly is useless and serves no point whatsoever and hence is my fav cause it is utterly pointlessly hilarious.

My favorite useless thing in the game was getting the Black Materia in you inventory. For one glorious moment, Cloud got to feel what it felt like to hold ultimate power in his hands, rather than feeling small and insignificant when compared to Seph, Vincent, or Zack.
And I do realize that Cloud technically gets the Black Materia in his inventory twice, but the first time he immediately hands it off to Seph, and the second he only gets it until he enters the next screen. Therefore, I only really count the second time he gets it as him actually "having" it.

Mine was being able to buy the villa in costa de sol and cloud saying something like "this is my villa I can do whatever i want here." I just liked owning the house even though I never really used it. I wish they had added a feature where you could buy furniture and stuff for it I would have sat there for hours decorating it if they had done that.

Something that a lot of people do to get good items, but isn't necessary in beating the game. . . Breading a Gold Chocobo. It is so time consuming and gets rather tedious, but I still love doing it! biggrin

i think that the most annoying and useless part of the game was the arena because you only get one good item in the end of do all of the crap to level up your ultimate char to beat it no matter what.

I have to say the Piano in Tifa room was my favorite mainly because of the fact you can play any song on it I wasn't too good at ( I just did simple tunes sweatdrop ) it but my brother could play Aerith Theme and Sephiroth theme (close to it anyways) on it. rofl

For me it was by FAR the motorcycle game. I've racked up countless hours killing motorcycle soldiers.

Caitsith is first and the worst Yuffie is good if you want to morph enemys, when u equip her with her ultimate weapon and morph an ememy it does 9999, plus you need her to get Leviaithen materia and you kill the Don if you get Yuffie. She is not at all useless, shes stronger on all stats then red XIII btw
