Will DeScythe's reflection smiled back at him from the mirror as Will put down his comb and winked. Ruffled blonde hair erupted from his head, clashing with his usual kempt hair and the purpose of using a comb.
The international musician had a day off today and had no intention of dressing formally. No telling how many people knew his face anyhow since he had toured often. However, he had a small advantage even if they recognized his appearance. Not everyone knew he was a mutant, and he had not gone out of his way to say he was since his mutation was not obvious.
The staff had arrived late last night in Harbor City to the hotel, so everyone had today off. Not everyone had agreed with coming to Harbor City once they had heard of the Tess incident, and even before, some of the humans were wary. Nevertheless, Harbor City had been included on the venue due to interest and politics. Will was curious as to how the city was doing, and he had heard that some of his classmates were living there.
Will sighed and headed out of his room. As he entered the elevator, he heard his manager call, "Don't be too reckless, Will! You still have a performance later this week!"
Will laughed in response as he shouted from inside the elevator, "You need to chill. I'll see you later!" He would check out the parks first, the musician thought, as he started walking around the streets with a map in his bag.

Pulling up outside the museum, Huilliame clambered of the bike and pushed the stud on his collar that caused the helmet to retreat back inside the buckle. He was met by the museums chief curator at the door and taken up to the scene of the crime. The hall of anthropology and human evolution was in disarray, the homo sapiens exhbit trashed completely. opposite it, a man lay dead. Huilliame quickly identified it as being the scientist Nicola Erwen. She had proposed that the mutations were the early symptoms of either a new subspecies or an evolutionary jump which would mean everyone would be a mutant naturally. She had been a target for Deceit for sometime and sure enough, there on the corpse there was the red flower. He pushed the button on his earpiece, causing the eyepiece to emerge in camera form and began photographing the scene. "Control, this is Huilliame De Corbeau. I need a full police and taskforce forensic investigation team here at the natural history museum. ASAP." He then left to wait for Logan to arrive and investigate the rooms memories.

Logan arrived at the Museum only ten minutes early, his detour proving to have been faster, even if it was a detour. He parked in the parking lot of the museum and got out, locking the vehicle as he headed for the building. Some police were hanging around, mainly crowd control, and after showing them his pin, he was led to where Hulliame was.
"Anything of interest?" Logan asked, the pain killers having kicked in only a minute or two after he took them. His headache was completely gone. Some of his nervousness for the night had kicked in again, and it showed by his frazzled hair, but he was in business mode and that meant he had to keep control. "I had nothing else to do in the office, so I kind of headed over here as soon as I got your message."

Standing up Candice pulled her arm around to her waist and looekd around at the surrounding area. Her kahki mini shorts stayed put at the passing breeze but her hair was blown in her face. After pulling the hair from her eyes and mouth Candice looked around. She needed four pictures for the newest issue of the magazine she worked for. It had a strange name and was all about Harbor City, apparently people found this place interesting. She lived here for a while now and nothing really happened interesting except for the clash of the mutants and humans. No one even suspected her of being a mutant. But she wanted to know if she was a mutant would her son be?
Candice put the remaining fragments of Matthew's lunch in a waste basket and pulled the carrier bag over her shoulders. Matthew jumped from his seat and grabbed Candice's hand following her as they walked. "So buddy, what do you say, for our four pictures we'll get one of, the MCRT head quarters, the park, and a few of everyday people." She pulled Matthew onto her back and smiled happily. "Well, let's get going." She pulled him securely to her back and walked through the swarm of people. It was lunch hour so it was pretty crowded.

"Well you remember the scientist who spoke at that conferance, Nicola Erwen? Well she's lying naked in a pool of her own blood upstairs. I need you to take a few feels of the room and see what happened. Their CCTV went out earlier today in the hall so theres not much else we can use to find out." He said, leading Logan upstairs. He wasnt expecting to see him until tomorrow during Taskforce Briefing for the week. He noticed he seemed a little nervous. "So, anything you want to talk about?" They hadnt been too close to start with but had gotten to know each other. As the current leader of the Harbour taskforce he was aware of the general relationships of members.

Logan made a face at the news and followed Hulliame up. "What a way to go..." he mumbled with a sigh. At the others' question, he cleared his throat a little, shoving his hand in his pocket to feel the ring box there. "Well, uh..." he started, and then shook his head a little. "Marie's coming over, tonight. I plan on asking her the big Q." he chuckled nervously, though he still looked more composed outside then he felt inside, especially now that it was being talked about.
"I mean, you know as well as I do I've never done anything like this before.... I've always been with her." His brittish accent was a bit stronger with his disease. It never faded, especially since he'd done college in the UK area. Logan sighed a little, running a hand through his hair, which was the cause for it's disarray. "Anyways- anything specific you want me to check out, first? How long has she been gone- I might get an idea of her attackers if she's fresh enough for a few remaining memories."

Thinking about it, he looked around the trashed room. "Take a look at the flower badge and the homo sapiens exhibit." He said, gesturing at the remains of the exhibit. "And also good luck." he mentioned when he had processed the news. He thought again about Aki. With this he'd probably make it up to his apartment in the building and shower in time to take her to the japanese restaraunt he had booked a table at. Huilliame sighed at the thought of what she'd do to him if he was late. He remembered when he had forgot to pick her up from judo class.... he had a scar from it. "Anyway I'm guessing this is something to do with Deceit. It's got all their hallmarks. But this woman... it looks like she was savaged by some kind of animal."

Will was blissfully unaware of the happennings at the museum as he wandered the streets of Harbor City. The city had many inhabitants, he found, as he struggled to get through the crowds. For a moment, Will thought he glimpsed a familiar set of large ocean blue eyes, but the moment was lost as the crowd pressure edged him onward.
Eventually, Will made his way into a fast food restaurant to grab some lunch and then made it to the park to eat. The particular park that Will had found was significant in size. Will paced the grounds looking for a free bench. It seemed like a popular place as many adults and children were chatting or playing.
Will took a seat by a stone fountain, where an aspiring young musician seemingly in his teens was playing a trumpet accompanied by background music from a radio. The boy had potential, Will thought, as he opened his bag and prepared to eat.

Marie hummed as she painted. There was music pumping through a small stereo humorously placed on top of tangled wiring that lead to the speakers half ways installed into the wall of the soon-to-be dance studio. The only wall in the room that wasn't bay windows or the two mirrors walls was in the works of becoming a soft yellow. Marie choose the color because yellow has been proven to enhance memory. Or, at least she heard that sometime in college while taking general psychology.
The tall woman painted enthusiastically with the beat of some local bands demo CD. They were good. Really good.
Marie's hair was in a long braid as she worked. She needed to make sure to get out of the studio early so she could prepare for dinner with Logan tonight. She wasn't sure exactly what to wear and today felt lucky and special, so maybe she would go out and buy a new dress. Marie did have dark brown heels she'd been dying to wear but had no dress that matched.
Finishing the first coat on the wall, Marie hopped off the ladder, to admire her work. Wiping sweat from her forehead she realized the guy that was supposed to repair the air conditioning was over two hours late.
Marie rolled her eyes and laid down on the new dance floor to watch the paint dry for awhile.

Logan paled a little at the sight of the body, but he had to ignore the horror of it. He went over and knelt beside her, feeling what was left of her neck. "Too cold... but let me see what I can get off her before I check the sash." His eyes closed and he focused. A haze entered his mind. He had minutes left until it was too late to get information from her... Staring at a wall... turning around as something hits from behind... Lashes out... Logan winced as the memory started growing hazier as pain wracked the victims body. There was a roar of sound in his ears, and he was still for a few moments as the sound faded. He pulled his hand away and nearly fell on his a**. "Well..." came a mumble after he had a moment of recovery.
"It was an animal... She got hit over the head, and then there were teeth..." Logan shook his head some more to clear it a bit better. He was paler than he had gotten to, but his color was slowly returning as the memory faded a bit in his head so it didn't bother him so much. He soon got up on wobbly feet, before he picked up the sash. "Give me a moment, and then I'll see who donated theirs to the cause."

"Alright." He said, pacing. He sniffed the air and thought about it. An animal.... The collective conscience of the city would probably have guessed Tess, but he ruled that out already since he was in the Cage, the metahuman prison. He began taking full pictures of the scene and checked the GPS on the backup. Five minutes. "Also, I hate to kotow any revelries you may have tonight but I need you and Marie in tomorrow at nine. Normally I wouldnt ask, but the months equipment shipments are in and theres a few new rules from admin that we're having to introduce."

Logan rubbed his arms, feeling a little cold, but he nodded. "At least you don't ask for unreasonable times, like six-am, or something. I'll let her know." When he was feeling himself again, he worked on the arm sash. What he discovered was interesting.
"They're using gloves, now, however... There's cat fur on this thing." Logan muttered, looking at the sash. He handed it over to Hulliame, before looking around the room. "I doubt there was just one of them. Do you want me to figure out who it was, or should I let forensics do their jobs?" He looked back to the other man.

"You look rather invigorated today..."
The sarcastic remark interupting the dull whirring hum of the microwave. The sweatshirted girl caught his eye as he was walking by in the hallway, and now he found that he was leaning casually against the doorframe in the kitchen area. He had been wandering around the base, completely disinterested in what had been happening in the ranks of the pure, normally he would have spent the day enjoying Harbor city, but it seemed rather uneventful outside this world as well.

Mal looked over to Fulgrim for amoment, before she let out an irritated sigh. "I'm bored, and I'm hungry." she grumbled. The counter was digging into her spine, so she stopped leaning against it and checked on the timer. Was a few seconds until it was done, so she soon pulled it out. Grabbing some plastic ware, she stirred the ingredients a bit. "I wanted to go on the mission this morning." she grumbled.

"No, we've done enough. The police and techs'll be here soon. " He said, thinking about what Logans analysis of the sash. He lead him out and went downstairs. The police had arrived and he had the relevant recordings stored at HQ archives. Now he had to go hand in paperwork and then he he could get home. Which meant the trip to the cinema was back on.
