Personality: Van is silent, which tends to be mistaken for shyness. She doesn’t get the concept of small talk. The only way to begin a conversation with her is to be direct or to inspire her curiosity. She’s often pleasant enough company, being a good listener and creating a pleasant atmosphere with her music. She doesn’t believe herself compassionate, but finds herself trying to relieve the burdens of others when she can.
She has a fiery disposition and would never submit to anyone, not even an Alpha, if they go against what she believes in. An unpleasant thing about her, though not obvious, is that she tends to be very possessive. She’s not greedy, she likes to share, but she nearly believes everything she touches is hers. “What’s yours is mine, and what’s mine is mine, and you’re mine and mine alone.”
She does what she pleases and goes where she will. The thing is, she usually doesn’t know what she wants, so she follows whomever. But when she’s really set on something, it’s near impossible to deter her — even with common sense. And when she has no one to follow and nothing to do, she will always do the first thing there is to do, which is usually trouble.
Van feels uncomfortable around adult Helix. Being an orphan, they tend to either shun her for fear that their pups will pick up bad habits, or make an irritable fuss over her and treat her in an attempt to adopt her. She's independent and considers herself independent and free of restrictions.
While she hates to be fussed over, she can be ridiculously fussy herself. She can become doting as a parent Helix, except that she tends to bit compulsively. She often plays this so that she somehow end up in a tussle with at lest half the packs' pups.
Van is a spirited soul, no matter how happy and attached she becomes to a pack or a child, there will always come a time when her capricious nature will force her to move on. She's lost many friends this way. The pups are either too afraid or attached to their parents to follow her. Sometimes they're sad, soetimes they're angry. Many have promised they'd search for her one day. It doesn't matter which, she'll create at least a short stanza or a poem to incorporate to her Life Song. She sings it out loud so that others will speak of it and hopefully become a trail for those who do look for her to follow. Tese, se hopes, will join her on her journeys and love song as much as she does.
