Kaimi chased after her, reaching the rock just seconds behind Marina. Panting a little and laughing, she eyed the rock thoughtfully. "So... ah... I guess you just... think about every bone and muscle in your body and imagine them getting lighter and lighter. Or you could imagine your whole body filling up with helium. Or something." She grinned. "I tried to fly with an umbrella once. Like Mary Poppins. It didn't work. But I bet it will work for you!"

Nataya listened to Kaimi as she took a few seconds to catch her breath. "Okay....I think I get it..." she said, nodding and giggling at the Mary Poppins part. "Thanks, Kaimi!" She then climbed up on the rock, closing her eyes a moment. Her, floating like a balloon...light as a feather. At one with the breeze. She took in a deep breath, then jumped, flapping her wings. She was in the air! She stayed up for a few seconds before crashing back down to earth, narrowly missing Kaimi as she hit the sand.

Kaimi jumped aside to avoid being hit by her falling friend, then ran over to Nataya with a look of concern. "Are you alright? Are you alive?" She reached down to help the girl up. "You stayed up for awhile..." Kaimi wasn't sure if it was longer or not as long as she'd managed before, though.

Nataya sat up, shaking sand out of her hair slowly. "I'm okay...." she said softly, looking up at Kaimi. She took Kaimi's hand, carefully pulling herself up. "I think I stayed up a bit longer." she said, grinning from ear to ear. Then again, she wasn't completely sure... "Are you okay? I didn't hit you or anything, did I?"

"I'm fine, you didn't hit me." Kaimi frowned thoughtfully. "I wonder how come it didn't work. I wonder if it takes meditation or something... like, maybe you have to think about it for longer?" It was, of course, awesome that Nataya had stayed up as long as she had. But still, it wasn't prolongued flight and that was the goal. "Or maybe it's magic. Maybe theres some kind of magic that we're missing." She had sudden visions of fairy dust.

"Maybe I'm flapping my wings wrong...." Nataya said, tapping her finger to her lips thoughtfully. She nodded once....maybe she hadn't thought of it long enough. She blinked at the mention of magic. "Magic..." she murmered, thinking it over. Momma knew how to use magic; even though she hadn't said anything about it, she'd seen what her momma was capable of. "Maybe you're right, Kaimi...." she said, looking to the girl with a small smile.

Kaimi gave her a smile back, then turned her gaze up to the overcast sky. "I dont know how to do any magic..." She murmurred thoughtfully. "Do you? The only thing I know is about ouija boards and seances. But I just saw that stuff in the movies. I dont know if it really works." She shrugged. "I dont think channeling spirits is the kind of magic we'd want anyways."

Nataya shook her head. "Not yet. Momma says I don't need to learn any." she said, looking down at the sand. "Magic isn't like in the movies...but it is real." She began drawing in the sand again, smiling lightly. "Yes. We'd need something like levitation or something." She looked up at the sky, just in time to catch a rain-drop with her face as it started lightly sprinkling, nothing too heavy.

Kaimi flinched slightly as a raindrop hit her. She loved sunshine. This whole spat of dark and wet weather didn't particularly agree with her. But the conversation was going in a direction she simply couldn't resist. Naomi tended toward practicality and pragmatism, magic didn't really fit in anywhere in her ideology. And Kaimi hardly thought hearing invisible voices counted as much.
Eyes lighting up, she watched Nataya. "But you'll learn it someday? Do you think your mom could teach us some kind of levitation or something?" She was terribly fascinated by anything that could be magical, though she'd never really witnessed anything herself. That didn't mean it wasn't real for some people. Or that it couldn't be real for her someday. And Nataya was a fairy, even if she had trouble flying. "Whats it like really?" Kaimi asked in what could almost pass as a reverent whisper.

Nataya looked at Kaimi just in time to see the girl flinch. She didn't like rain? Personally, the little fairy absolutely LOVED the rain; it was so soothing. But, she understood that not everyone shared that same fondness. She stood up, doing her best to block some of the rain with her wings so it wouldn't her her sunshine-loving friend.
"I don't know," she said, pressing a finger to her lips. "I've never seen Momma use that kind of magic. She might know it, though she's not as good at stuff like that as Uncle Matthias is..." She then smiled slightly. "Magic is...well...hard to explain. I've only seen it, never experienced it or done it. Maybe you could ask my momma; she'd be able to explain it better than I could."

The offer was better than Kaimi had imagined. "Do you really think she would? That would be so neat! Maybe we can ask her together..." She smiled gratefully as the rain was shielded by her friend. "Maybe she or your uncle can tell us how to help you fly. I've never even seen magic. Only pretended about it."

Nataya nodded, grinning. "Momma thinks I'm too young to fly...she doesn't plan to teach me until 'I'm older'. Uncle Matthias might, though." she said, pondering the thought. She then blinked. "You've never seen magic?" she asked, looking confused. Wasn't magic a part of everyone's house hold?

Kaimi shook her head. "Not real magic, no..." She thought about it for a moment. "I dont see how you can be too young to fly. I mean, you have wings. So you should be able to fly no matter how old you are. Right?"

"I don't know..." Nataya said, sighing slightly. "Momma worries, that's all. She doesn't want me to get hurt. But I agree with you; if I'm ready, I should be able to fly." She then smiled slightly. "I'm not sure if counts as magic, but you want to see something really cool?"
