Zoo giggled, and pranced in place for a moment before bobbing her head again. "Come on! Lets go!" She turned to face the length of the beach that didn't yet show signs of their play and took off. She enjoyed the feel of the wind wipping through her mane, and sending her tail streaming behind her like a wheat colored banner.

The sight of the beach, stretching out before him like his own private path, calmed him and drew in his inner fire and spirit. He grinned, rearing up into the wind that flung his forelock back away from his forehead, and then plunged forward. His hooves gouged into the sand, biting the beach away easily and naturally, sending the sand flinging every which way. His little legs moved in rapid succession as he sped after Zoomono, his ears pinned back away from the wind and his head bowed against the pressure.

Candar loved to run. There was nothing he could do without having a swift run every day. He loved the wind as it whipped his mane and tail back, and he loved the feeling of his hooves pounding the ground away as he moved faster and faster. He had been born to run, of this he was sure. Born to race down the long stretches of beach and freedom.

Up ahead, he spotted a piece of driftwood, brought in by the waves. More like a log. It anchored into the sand, biting against the gently pull of the waves. It was in his way. And he was going to fast to swerve into the corner - he would crash. He judged the log critically. It was not far away enough for him to start slowing. He kept at his headlong plunge, his legs suddenly feeling weary at the prospect of leaping the log. He kept at it, however, pushing on and on as the log loomed up ahead. He gritted his teeth. Then, at the last moment, he sprange from the ground. He started off somewhat crookedly. Stretching out his forelegs to take the impact of landing, he could see the sand coming up at his face, as if he were about to tumble headlong into the sand. He jerked his head up, hollowing his back, ears pinned as he felt his front hooves dig into the sand. Then his hind legs came over, and he cantered slowly off. Turning back, he eyed the huge ruts he had made into the sand. One wave came in, partially filling the hole. Candar shook his head. His legs shook slightly.

Run he could. Jump he could not.

A soft giggle escaped Zoo. She had seen the little ones jump, it wasn't too bad for one who was still all knees. "More practice and you'll be good." She said nodding. Of course, this came from someone who could do the nearly impossible jumps and had more stamina.

"I'm not into jumpin." Candar shrugged, his eyes rolling out toward the sea, watching the waves as they washed up against the sand. "Not when I can run.

"Running huh?" Zoo replied after a moment of thought, "Running is good, but I like jumping better." She couldn't describe the feeling of joy she felt as she vaulted sucessfully over an obstical in her path, or when she managed to jump two at a time, twisting to get a third. She circled around the colt and nudged him. "Got your feet back?" She asked, knowing that he must have felt the shock of impact travel up those spindilly legs.

Candar shrugged and swung around to trot over to her - only to find that he could now see her nose-to-nose.
"Wh..." He stopped short. Even his voice had changed! It had deepened into a soft bass, rythmic as the waves beating against the beach. He felt taller, and stronger. But what had happened? He snorted. Perhaps it was the jump. He tossed his head, feeling his mane tumbled down about his withers. "Wow..."

He was at a loss for words, peeking over at his reflection in the lolling waves. He looked so much older. He shook his tangled mane and pawed his reflection away, whirling around to face Zoomono again.

Zoo giggled, smiling at the newly grown Equu. "Congradulations!" Was all she said, "I guess I can't call you a colt, or a squirt anymore now can I?" She giggled again and smiled a closed eyed smile at the stallion. "Shall we? I know you want to test out that new body of yours."

"Go ahead, if you want." He shrugged and gave her a grin, shaking his mane into the salty breeze. He swung his head into the wind, laying his ears back. "Against the wind, or away from it?" He asked, his eyes twinkling with confidence. His legs were long and sturdy, and the beach's soft, sandy muck was just the kind of track he loved the most.

Candar turned and sized up the wood again. It looked... small and insignificant. Even the wind that had picked up did little to bother him now. He shot Zoo a glance, brow raised and a crooked smile playing across his muzzle.
"What say I give it another go?" He suggested cockily. He wasn't so much scared of jumping as... resenting it. He didn't want to live with a fear of jumps for the rest of his life. He was young yet.

He size the the log again. He was still pretty close to it, but he was just as good at sprinting as he was at flatout racing. He'd be able to build enough speed at this distance so he wouldn't instictively jerk away. He tossed his head defiantly and plunged forward.

Zoo slowly pushed herself away from the log, and watched as the young stallion decided to give the jump another shot. She like him, and his mind. He wasn't afraid of anything, or so she could see. He reminded her of a young colt in her herd, but he was headstrong and wild. And ultimatly the reason why she'd left. But things like that were better left in the past, and she enjoyed her solitary life as it was now. She cheered on Candar as he built up the speed necessary for him to jump. He'd all but admitted to being afraid of them, and he was built more for speed then jumping, like she was.

Her encouragement drew a fire into his eyes, although he had been going too fast to show it. The wind howled past his ears as he ran, his neck stretched forward in his race, as natural. Then he neared the log, the wood drifting up slowly toward him... excrutiatingly slowly. He snorted, relaxed as he plunged his forehooves into the sand, and pushed off with his hind legs. He was overjumping, and he knew it, but he wasn't about to be caught in the wood.

Again, the sand came up at him with speed fit to kill. He pulled his head up to level off, so he couldn't feel like buckling to his knees, and felt his hind legs touch the ground behind him. He felt he had the momentum to keep going, to keep jumping, but he didn't. Like he'd said, jumping wasn't quite his thing. But he knew he could do it now, and that was what it mattered.

Naira had stayed down in the dunes as this newer equine arrived. Foamy water swirled in little pools around her hooves, but she hadn't even noticed her changes until looking down. Since when was the water that far below? Lids blinked over crimson eyes and a snort echoed from her nostrils before noticing the long navy blue mane hanging over one side of her head. She grew...

A fluttery feeling came across the multi colored uni before raising her head and gazing at the other two race off. A hoof lifted, water dripping from the violet fur, and something of a shrug was issued before Naira raced off after them. Never before had she felt this spead, it didn't feel as fast as the other two ahead, but every time her hooves hit the wet sand they seemed to spring off. It wasn't long before she was alongside the other mare's left flank and snorting in pure enjoyment.

The large grey, red and blue marked stallion galloped across the beach. He looked around for some of his own kind. When would he find them? he wondered to himself. He stopped short of the water and looked across it, he turned his graceful head and began to look around. No one in sight, Ashan sighed. When... he wondered again he snorted and galloped on. It had been ages since he had seen one of his own... would he always be alone? that question hounded him, always.

Ashan reared upon a hill beside the beach looking still the wet sand clung to his hooves. Ashan was becoming bored os looking for one of his own kind, he decided to trot to a palm tree an lay underneath it, stairing out across the ocean.

After some time Naira had grown bored with this bunch and her once speedy pace slowed to a trot as she turned her tri colored body and went back the way she once came. Following the three pairs of hoof prints, the uni moved into the surf. Frothy foam splashed up around her legs and soaked her navy tail.

The surf pounded in her ears as it crashed into the sand, leaving debris up on the wet ground. One such piece caught Naira's attention as soon as her ruby eyes layed upon it. A large coconut. The animal paused and swished her tail. "What's this?" she murmured and moved closer to inspect it. This odd thing had a hold of her attention so much so that she didn't notice the other equine under the palm.

Ashan tore his gaze away from the rolling waves of the sea. A tri coloured equid captured his attention. He stood up and geazed at the other, she was like him but had a horn. "Hello," Ashan called to the creature before him inspecting the coconut. The stallion stood proudly before the strange mare. "I am Ashan, whom might you be?" he questioned.

Ashan took some steps forward to come closer to her, a small green horn he could see peeked out from her forhead.
