The Nameless Liberty MAKQ The Nameless Liberty MAKQ Soulless Perfection You know thats like 5 whole steps right? hell yeah i know that lol cool that you know , not many people know that . am crazy with my low tunings . I couldn't STAND that tuning xD I can barely stand Drop A... it just makes everything so... bassey xD
B and C are perfectoi love my guitar to sound very mammoth like lol I like mine to have those high notes that I love, but I want it to be low enough that even a simple riff can be heavy.
Drop B and C fit that category ;] it still works out with that tuning .

Drop B and C fit that category ;] it still works out with that tuning . Anything bellow drop B is lower than a 7 string guitar...and a seven string guitar is pretty low. Plus to get drop G if theirs such a tuning you'd need like acoustic medium string gauge thickness.

There are lots of bands that do that tuning for certain songs . Or just for there over all tuning . I love it .

In my opinion, venturing below B is pretty dumb, since you're already fighting for the bassist's space in the mix by dropping lower than D. B, A, etc end up making the entire band sound muddy.

I can give you some Deathmetal/Metalcore/Deathcore/etc, etc. that have some AMAZING music. Both in technical prowess and in musicality.
If you're interested, the best is Veil of Maya ;]
Their guitarist is a beast!
They're in Drop B, by the way. Look up "It's Not Safe to Swim Today", "Mark the Lines", or "It's Torn Away".

I know good stuff comes from drop B, I really like the new Slipknot album. I'm just saying, lower than that doesn't seem practical to me.

I understand , but to me it feels so good and different . Its practical and thats the charm for me , plus it sounds like muddy and very huge too . Plus the bass can be heard , just have to eq it abit . But most times you can still hear it , only in recording you really cant hear it cause ya need to mix it and what not .

Its just so much lol but enough to make some interesting stuff . To be honest i meant a 9 string like the guy from High on Fire as his . But a 8 string is pretty good .

ive come to a conclusion that Drop C makes things sound cool and heavy, but the best tuning is Drop D. its annoying to go any lower than Drop C, so i never go lower. and i dont really care because i like to be able to hear music instead of a bunch of rumbling strings. bright tone is the best

I love any tuning as long it sounds good .

Unless you buy an agile, it would be more economic to buy a 7 string and tune it to open c (G,C, G, C, G,C,E) ala Devon Townsend. Only one note difference from the 8 strings F# standard tuning. Personalty I want an 8 string so I can tune to either A standard (A,D,G,C,F,A,E,G) or B standard (B,E,A,D,G,B,E,A). I just have to find a pack of strings that'll take such a high tuned 1st string at that neck length.
