He could tell? He could hear? Leilani liked to think she was good at a few things, but her hearing was slightly better than average at best. While she didn't usually wish it to be better, she did now, wondering if he was as cool as he acted. Perhaps he'd miss the next little flutter as he brushed her hair away from her eyes.
"I...haven't been to the beach in quite some time," she said with a small smile. It wasn't exactly a lie. "And I've never really come with anyone else. It's nice. The water is beautiful today." It's the color of your eyes. But her words were belied by the fact that she seemed quite content to let him hold her, forsaking the view of the water she talked about for looking up at him.

He smiled coolly, pondering a few things in his head. Questions and maybe possible moves. They all seemed sudden for only knowing her for a day. One question he wanted to ask her but refrained from it. It would be best left for another time.
The salty air fluttered his wings and moved his hair. The sun grazed over the water and made the blue brighter. "So m'lady, what would you like to do? It's all up to you. I aim to please." His hands went behind him as he turned and looked at her.

Well, he didn't say anything, so his being a lie detector was out. Probably. Or he was tactful. She didn't much mind, because admitting that she had a crush on someone had looked forward to seeing him much more than she had the ocean was a little weird to herself, much less anyone else. Maybe later. Maybe again.
"You were picking up seashells," she said, more of an observation than anything. "We could look for more, or walk in the surf. Its a fine day for it." When the wind blew his hair, she couldn't help but mirror his motion--reaching forward slightly brushing a loch of the earthy-colored hair out of his face. Laughing, a little at herself, she turned and stepped lightly, following the line in the sand that marked the ocean's last passing.
"Are you coming?" she called over her shoulder.

Aiden followed her and tried to find conversation. He never liked talking about himself. He could tell her about the new girl in his family but he hadn't talked to her yet. She was laying in the grass when he left, whether sleeping or waiting, he didn't know. "If I kiss.....if I kiss you.." His face turned scarlet.
"Would you kiss me back?" It was his own way of asking her did she like him without actually asking it. His innocence around her killed him. He was often reckless, a smart a**, and a show off.

Midstep, Leilani paused, turning all the way back around to face him. The flutter was back in her heartbeat, and in her stomach, and...well, everywhere it seemed like. After a moment's contemplation, she spoke softly.
"I think I would." An impish grin on her face, she gracefully picked her way back the few paces he'd fallen behind, to look up at his face. He was so cute, and so flustered. For whatever reason, it gave her a little extra shot of courage. He wouldn't be so flustered if he didn't like her, right?
"Would you like to find out?"

Aiden felt like holding her and kissing her like he wanted to but the moment didn't seem right. He shook his head and the blush remained there. It wasn't that he didn't want her. But it would be his first kiss and it seemed weird.
He heard her heartbeat and it gave him a shy edge. "Don't...take it wrong or anything. I love you..." He admitted almost to himself. "Your eyes, smile, your blush..." His eyes couldn't focus on her for some odd reason. "I don't know why. I feel nervous all of a sudden." He looked at her then wrapped his arms around her. "I feel like it's too soon to be feeling this way but I can't help it." He whispered.

He didn't want to kiss her, but he would say that he loved her. The look on Leilani's face was certainly confused, really confused, and if he thought her heart was pounding before....now it was a thunderclap in her ears.
Because she couldn't say the same thing.
"I..." she stammered, wondering what to say. It felt so good to have him hold her close like this, but could she honestly say that she loved him? "I l..." Just say it. "I l-like you a lot," she finally managed. Nervous herself, she brought her hands up to his chest, fingers gently curling in the soft fabric of his shirt.

Aiden pondered a moment then sighed. "Oh." He said softly and let go of her. He didn't expect the words to flow from him so soon. "I will be back." He slightly felt hurt but he made a full of himself in front of her. It made him seem so eager...but he was one of those who believed in love as first sight.
He walked past a lady in a red and black shirt and a few others but he was content on getting something for Leilani. He paid no attention to their faces. "Sorry" He said as he bumped into one of them.
Jezebel was bumped into but paid no mind. She could hear the pain in this voice. What troubled him? She didn't know. "It's no problem, sir." She carried the bowl full of crystals in ease as she walked along with the others.
Annabell reached out a hand to Aiden but then looked out at the ocean water and went running to swim. "Water!" She said and giggled happily.
Val glared at Aiden. He smelled strongly of that female he was with yesterday but it was none of her business. "Be careful, Annabell!" She yelled at her but just smiled from the childlike nature of that girl. She looked out and looked at the fairy woman Aiden had left. Was that the girl he was with? What happened between them?

"O-okay..." Frustrated at her apparent inability to make a single word come out correctly and the situation in general, Leilani didn't follow when he left. Plus, he said he'd be back.
We'll see if he means it. She'd heard all sorts of things about not having the right words for guys, but she'd thought she was supposed to say that she...that is to say, that it was...She sighed heavily, looking down at the shell she still held in her hands.
And to be seen by everyone that he lives with just about...even better. There was a tightening in her chest. He really was walking away. Her gaze was drawn to the chandra walking behind him, clad in black and red, with a bowl full of sparklies. It wasn't enough to completely divert her attention, he obviously wasn't having anything to do with her.
"I hate to intrude..." she was going to excuse herself, but she had to ask, "but those are beautiful crystals, miss. Where did you get them?"

Jezebel shifted the bowl in her arms then looked in Val's direction. It was her way of saying she didn't know.
"We got them from a cave southwest of here. Aiden knows where it is. Go with him sometime." Val's tone was mean without meaning to be. "By the way, what did you do to him to make him walk out on you like that?" She was curious to why he would do that. Once he had hit on her and she nearly killed him.

Well, see if she'd ask that one any more questions. She'd been snubbed enough for one day, thank you very much. Leilani mostly didn't want to admit that it had kinda stung when Aiden had walked away. With barely a word! Perhaps it was because of that that she responded to the demon a little too forcefully.
"Nothing," she said, a little sharper than she meant to. "He decided to leave on his own." And she could go to that cave by herself. She'd been around these islands long enough--she might be able to find it.

Val smiled then followed Aiden curiously to see what was up. "Bell hun, watch our for Annabell and keep the crystals here. "I will be back. "
Jezebel nodded and looked in the way of Lelani. "Will you at least tell me what happened? I maybe could help. Aiden was up and about when I got into the group. But...like...he...Val.." She snorted. "I don't like Val. She is a very mean person." The word sin could be heard if you listened well enough. "from what I heard..Aiden is a womanizer....can you tell me what happened between you two before he walked off?" There was a plea in her face. She could tell his fairy wouldn't turn her request away just like that but you never know.
In the distance she heard Annabell splashing in the water. "My name is Jezebel by the way."

Slightly confused and a little concerned, Leilani watched 'Val' walk off towards Aiden. What was going on? She didn't really know these chandra, and was hesitant about divulging their conversation to either of them. And then a word caught ear hear. Maybe they were sensitive enough, huh?
"A womanizer?" she said, as calmly as she could manage. Which was...almost calm. Mostly calm. "I hadn't heard that."
"It's nice to meet you, Jezebel," she said on a very quiet sigh. "I'm Leilani." She paused to think about it for a moment, not really wanting to talk to anyone about what happened. Now that she thought...that Aiden might be a womanizer (could he be, really?), she didn't know if she wanted to share what happened. She felt like a fool.
"Nothing much happened, really," she continued softly. "I just...couldn't tell him what he wanted to hear. That's all." Maybe it was for the better, after all.

Jezebel looked her way for a moment then smiled. She could run over the things Val told her but for once, she didn't believe a word Val said. "Want to make pendants with me?" She offered and whistled to Annabell who came running. "They are fun to make. I'm working on making rings now." She placed the crystals down. "Pick a color and size."

Leilani had to think about that for a moment, but the alternative was going back to her home alone. She didn't mind being alone--she was generally content with her solitary existence. But after a morning spent in his arms, could she enjoy it right now?
"Sure," she said with a weak smile. "Thanks. I love gems." Looking down into the bowl, she saw a good many that were very pretty. Green, red, even yellow. But her hand was drawn to the blue one, the color of the ocean and...well, it would match with her outfit and her home, alright? Sheesh. Like it was a big deal that it also happened to be almost the same color as his eyes.
"I like this one," she said, pointing to the blue gem, only a little bigger than the size of her thumb.
