What about those werid assed mouth movements. Looks really creepy. Especially when Steve Vai does it. eek confused You mean during a guitar solo? I mean come on Yngwie doesn't do it. I love when Dave Murray from Iron Maiden does it Dude! You noticed that too!? Me and my friend have a theory. He's reading off his shopping list as he plays. Eggs... Milk... Bread... Oh bugger, what else? And Nicko is always looking at one spot, so we figure he's reading Dave's list and saying it into a mic so Dave can hear it. lmfao rofl It could be true xp

MegaTherion777 Digital Malevolence MegaTherion777 Digital Malevolence MegaTherion777 it's an effect that you plug into your guitar amp. there's a tube that you put in your mouth, and when the effect is on changing the shape of your mouth will change the way the guitar sounds. peter frampton and joe walsh used it a lot in the 70s, zakk wylde uses it a bit today...but overall, it's hard to use properly and so not a very popular effect. sounds good, though, when done right The real name is a Vocoder. And I enjoy an amazing stage show, with a lot of theatre, it just makes it more fun. Example: Gwar. actually the vocoder is a similar, but slightly different, effect. the talk box was handmade by peter frampton, he was the first to use it, and he later gave some company (i forget which one) rights to produce it for mass consumption. Really? I thought they were the same thing.....well they do the same thing, except the Vocoder may be a wee bit more advanced because you can hook it to the computer or just buy a generator on the computer to do it. to my understanding the vocoder needs to be hooked up to a computer. it mimics the talk box. the talk box has no computer involved, however, and you can get more nuances of sound out of it, i believe Maybe, I really need to do some reading on them...or get one. ninja

I think it's cool when you do it once or twice like Satriani or when you show your teeth. But when Vai does it... He like like an old person without teeth trying hard to chew his food. stressed

But I meant I want a Vocoder so I can make my voice all electronic and stuff. You said you were going to buy a guitar or bought one, and you said you were going to teach yourself how to play.
