I usually see underlined passages and highlighted sentences. Sometimes bookmarks like slips of paper, or notes that say "Don't read this!".
When I lend my friends books, they usually find movie tickets 'cause that's what I use for bookmarks most of the time.

I was reading a library copy of the Catcher in the Rye, and somebody had scribbled on one of the pages. If it had said "******** You" I think I probably would have died laughing.

Once I was in the public library and I opened up a book that had an interesting cover and found a vocabulary flashcard. Then I looked closer at the writing and realized that it was one of the SAT word cards that my best friend had made to study for a test we had awhile back. xd

I barely find anything in them. But that might be because I borrow most books in the library, and they check most books if there's anything in. And when you wrote in it. You have to pay.

I hate when I find writing or food stains on books especially when those marks are found in my favorite parts. I love when I find money that i had used as a bookmark. Usually I find random recipts that i had used as bookmarks.

I've found papers used as book marks, checkout slips, notes, real bookmarks, tears, water marks, but never money.

I bought a book about hugs with my friend, we discovered a message that someone gave this book to her friend before.
In the book I'm actually reading, I found some little bugs (wich mean my uncle read outdoors) and a bookmark that someone wrote ******** you at him. personnaly it was hilarious

i havent found anything all that great, receits, papers, bugs, juice stains, and crayon markings (my least favorite).
