Bhek smiled as he heard his brother chirp back, his eyes trained carefully on the parakeet. He crouched, his tail swishing quietly behind him as he took a step forward. Suddenly, he let his muscles uncoil and he leapt forward, sending the bird up into the air in a flash of white feathers. "Get it Sumati!" Bhek called in a panic.

Sumati jumped as soon as he saw that his brother wasn't going to reach the bird. Panicked, he stepped on Bhek to elevate himself even further and barely managed to catch the parakeet. He clutched it against his chest with his front paws, tight enough to not let it escape, but not to hurt it.
However, in his rush to catch the thing he momentarily forgot he had to come down somehow. And by the time he remembered he was already falling backwards. He hit the ground with his back. He wasn't wasn't that much hurt, but there probably were going to be some bruises.
"Bhek! Don't let it get away!" He managed when he felt the bird slip away from his paws.

"Oof!" Bhek grunted as he was used as a stool, but that didn't stop him from darting foward as the bird began to fly away again. He grabbed the thing gently yet tightly and braced himself for the landing. It was a good thing he did, because he landed with a hard thud on his back legs, the parakeet held gently in his arms.

"Ugh." Sumati grunted as he rolled off his back. "That was the stupidest thing I've ever done." But as soon as he saw the white ball of feathers in his brother's paws the pain was forgotten. He went over to him, grinning from ear to ear. "Hey, you got it! Nice work, brother!" He tilted his head to get a better look of the parakeet and sniffed at it.
"It's a cute little thing, isn- Ouch!" Sumati was suddenly assaulted by another white bird. It viciously attacked his head with it's beak and for some time all the blue cheetah could do was try to escape. At one point he reared and the bird made the mistake to swoop down and try to bite his leg. Thinking fast, Sumati slashed down with his paw and pinned it to the ground. Thankfully he didn't squash it. However, it continued to flutter furiously, giving him a rather unpleasant sensation.
"Yeah, these things bring a lot of luck!" He said sarcastically. "Why did it attack me like that?" He looked at his brother confusedly.

Bhekizitha looked down at the ball of feathers in his legs, smiling softly before he suddenly looked up as another white parakeet dove at his brother's head. As Sumati slashed at his attacker, the bird in his arms thrashed even more widely, it's eyes watching frantically before it relaxed ever so slightly as it realized the other bird was okay. Bhek frowned, instantly making the connection. "They're twins."

"Twins?" Sumati repeated and looked back and forth between the two birds. "Oh. It makes sense." He said sitting down and drawing his captive closer to him. It had calmed somewhat. "Well what do we do with them now?" He asked at a loss of what to do.

That was a very good question... "Well.... We could show them to Mom then let them go... Or maybe we could make friends with them!" Bhek suggested with a smile.
The parakeet in his paws wiggled until its mouth was free. "Hey! We're right here you know!" The bird exclaimed, its voice male. "How about you talk to us too?"

"Yeah, I think we get to have a say in this!" Chirped the parakeet in Sum's paws.
"Um, okay. We want to be your friends. They say a white parakeet brings good luck." Sumati said carefully.
"Why would we stay with you wingless creatures?"
"Well, for one, we could protect you from other predators." Sum suggested.

"And we could help you find food easier. You'd have an easier life with us." Bhek added, peering down at the tiny creatures.
The white parakeet with the green cheetah looked over to his twin, frowning lightly. Well, should they stay with these creatures? Could they even trust them? After all, the cubs had captured them once...

"Yes." Sumati said in agreement. "You'll never have to worry about anything."
The parakeet in his paws looked at his brother with slight distrust in his eyes. These cubs had captured them...but didn't hurt them. They didn't seem bad. He really didn't know what to make of it. "Maybe we could stay with them for a while," he said slowly "And go if we don't like it." He waited for his brother's answer.
"Okay." Sumati said "It's not like we can stop you. Here, I'll let you go."
The parakeet shot up in the air and remained hoovering a meter or so above Sum's head.

((Don't our boys look awesome? 8DD))
Bhekizitha was a tad more hesitant to release the parakeet in his paws, but he did. The bird fluttered up to float next to his brother and stared down at the two cheetahs. "I agree. We'll stay with you for a day and if we like it then we'll stay." He stated firmly.
Down on the ground, Bhek shot his brother a grin. What luck! They'd set out to catch a white parakeet and found two instead and now the parakeets were going to stay with them!

((They're growing up so handsome^^))
Sumati grinned back at his brother. "We're the best!" He said to him. They had two lucky birds. And they could prove useful in more than one way.
"Great!" He said in response to the parakeets. "I suppose we should show you our home then?"

"I suppose it would be nice." The parakeet said as he stared down at the two cheetahs.
Bhek smiled, "Well then, come on." He turned with a flick of his tail and headed back home. He was sure the others would follow.

Sumati fell into step with his brother, throwing a glance back every now and then. The parakeets were following them alright.
"I think you'll like our home." He said to the birds. "We're pretty much like this one big family. Everyone's very nice."

"And our den is nice and big too." Bhek added with a smile.
"As long as no one tries to eat us..." One of the parakeets stated frankly.
((Should we start wrapping this up?))
