Ah, yeas, I remember reading up a bit here before! Your miasma is a really interesting idea.
Is something like miasma usually visible? I thought it was usually just a really rank smell, or low-quality air. Then again, Beijing's air quality is, eh, visibly poor last I heard, so. Color-changing? Not likely, buuuut this is also a fictional environment.
Interesting soul choice, in that the mongoose seems to be an average kind of animal, with not too many distinctive qualities. I'm a little concerned that you reversed one of its more stand-out ones - the sociability, as seen in the pack behavior and the baboon cooperation.
The Raevan itself is an interesting character, though one wonders what sort of variations of interaction could really happen with such a stubbornly introverted personality. One grumpy, reluctant meeting after another? The five-word quirk is definitely interesting <: would very much like to see how that plays out.
His powers are very appropriate to his essence and well thought-out, I think.
The guardian seems a little too two-faced to me, but that could just be personal taste.
I'm left wondering about his adopted daughter, though. Does she have any kind of personality or backstory yet?

In a less crit-related question, the artwork in the guardian post - is it specifically of your characters? I fit's not, I'd appreciate it if you cited the artists somehow - being an artist myself, I am a little concerned when I see unlabeled and uncredited illustrations floating around.

Giving such an uncaring character to another uncaring character... might not result in the growth you are looking for on either parts. It doesn't make too much sense to me :I;; Good luck with it, though, if you're really set.

Hm.... the billowy zephyr sounds really similar to Eye of Storm/Piece of Cloud, as weather and wind. Might want to be careful of stepping on any toes.
As for the miasma.... the emotions part is giving off a vibe very similar to Cloud of Despair. Though the effects are opposite ( bring good feelings instead of bad ), it's definitely in the same realm, so you might want to do a tally between the two of them, as in what's the same and what's not.

Soul sounds fine. It's not boring, but rather another animal with interesting possibilities. One thing I recommend is just making a list of all the soul ideas you are interested in. You don't have to elaborate on all of them, but having the list gives you a better idea of what some different options for you are 3nodding
