Sleep nudged Water along with her nose, ushering him toward the dry underside of the cave-like area. She joined in, shaking another coven of droplets from her fur, pausing momentarily to sneeze, sending water off the tip of her nose and onto the mud. She shivered a bit, taking solace on the dry land, warming up just from lack of contact with the rain. The filly stretched, trying to find the stars through the breaking storm clouds. "Do you think it will let up soon?"

Flicker looked at the optimistic kimeti and smiled. " yeah its been storming for quite a while it should pass over soon" he said. The lightning struck and the thunder clapped. Flicker was now right besides sleep sitting joyfully, under cover from the storm. Water who was now calm due to the solace of Sleep and Flicker, and the cover from the storm. Water climbed on Flickers backs and decided to take residence there while he sat. Flicker looked at the pink and blue kimeti and asked "What do you like doing, when its not stormy." curious to know more about his new friend.

The filly stretched, watching beads of water drip from her snout downward. She still shivered with every clap of thunder, and winced with every flash of lightning, though it was now far less pronounced. Sleep paused thoughtfully, she couldn't imagine any one activity she enjoyed more than any other, so a downpour of subjects flooded from the little once. "I like exploring, especially on warm days, when all the bugs are out." She began, "I like looking for flowers. And sometimes I climb onto mounds and rocks and look as far out as I can." Her ears flickered, imagination making itself known as she hushed her voice to a whisper. "I think I can see past the swamp. To a place with no trees, where everything is colored like fresh moss." Her eyes lit up, a smile playing across her face, though she gaze Flicker little time to consider what she had seen. "What do you like to do?"

Flicker thought about it and replied. "I like painting with red mud on hot days and letting it dry on my skin leaving an imprint when it is washed off. Water helps paint too! He uses his tiny fingers to make detailed designs and neat patterns. I like eating berries to and playing in the water." He smiled. He wanted to know more about what was beyond the swamp this empty land filled with green. He asked her if she would take him to that place sometime. He knew that kimeti weren't supposed to leave the swamp but he was curious to see what was beyond it.

Of course the little one had never really seen a land devoid of water and trees like she said, it was all in her head, but she was more than happy to imagine it. She nodded in an excited fashion, arching her neck toward the direction where she had first appeared from. "The big rocks are that way." She said between claps of thunder, which were now growing fewer and far less frightening. "When you go to the very top all you have to do is close your eyes a bit. If you focus really hard and block out everything around you, you can see it." Her voice became quite dreamy at this point, her own eyes squinting to view the cloudy sky above the trees on the horizon. "Even now I can see a sky that's always bright blue...do you see it?"

Flicker was amazed by Sleeps imagination. He smiled and laughed. "Sure i do." He said. A land with out water and bright blue skies all the time. Flicker could imagine playing in the fields with Sleep. Laughing, dancing and having a good time under a radiant blue sky and on top of a lush field of green. He nudged his head towards hers. " Your really funny you know that." He said as he giggled and smiled. Water was smiling to. Then Water sniffed the air a few times and got even happier. He could smell the rain leaving the swamp.

Sleep was delighted - someone who could see the brilliant things she saw. What were the chances? And, yes, she really did believe that he was seeing them, too. It was the innocent way she went about thinking that made everything so believable. The filly tilted her head, smiling just as brightly as the others. "Am I?" She looked down, attempting to find the funny parts of herself, before realizing it was her ideas that seemed funny. The filly shrugged it off contently, watching the rain clouds flee the marsh.

To Flickers delight the storm was starting to clear. He had fun while the storm raged on but now that time had come to an end. The Swamp and the Sky had finished dancing and the sun peeked out of the clouds. Leaving an abundance of mud aross the swamp. Flicker looked at Sleep and said, "I mean that in a good way, you make me laugh." Flicker looked at his friend and smiled. Water who had already ran out into the open to catch the slivers of sunlight motioned the kimeti to join him.

Sleep smiled back, her cheeks aching. She had done a lot of smiling that day, and her jaw was scolding her for it. She eagerly jumped off her rump, following water across the slippery muck that took place of the once stable soil. Her coat glistened radiantly beneath stray rays of golden light, this particular shade complimenting her colors effortlessly. She trotted neatly behind the foxbun, prodding his ear with her nose. "Where are you going, little one?"

Water pointed towards a bush filled with his favorite berries. He scurried over to it with a smile. Flicker followed as he little friend began eating the berries that matched his fur. Such bright red berries were often dangerous to eat but Water had seen another foxbun eating them. Flicker ate some berries to. Flicker looked at the green eyed kimeti and smiled. "Its been really fun playing with you." He said. "I hope we do it again sometime." Flicker made a little bed for himself by the bush and sat down.

Sleep trotted after water, sniffing the berries hesitantly, but deciding against them in the end. She viewed the clearing skies with a bright expression, arching her neck in the vague direction of her tree. She gave a fleeting glance to the pair, eager to explore the newly-wet wood. "I've had fun, too...I'll see you again, Flicker." And with that, the pink filly scurried off, bounding over side-laying logs and dripping flowers until she was but a pink blur between far-off trees...
