Luke nodded slowly. Kids... He hadn't been fond of kids, considering the ones he had grown with, and now these two were quickly growing on him. In less than a day!
He looked down in silence, wondering if the little cervi would remember his name from his awkward introduction when he had found her.

The cervi girl giggled at Jaione's touch, then squeaked when she was pulled along. "Tee-yum." She repeated, looking up at the naga curiously. Joooney liked this naga? That couldn't be right...
Then she looked up at Luke, and after a moment her nose crinkled in concentration. "Llllllll... Lllllll.... Loooke." She squeaked happily and ran/toppled forward to cling to Luke's leg, looking back at Jaione with a grin.

Syem watched on curiously, enjoying the company of both the cattaur and the two small ones. After having been raised with a constantly replenished supply of young children, he'd never really had a problem dealing with them. Well, except that many of them seemed afraid of him; he didn't blame them, though. He had, actually, grown larger than he initially thought that he would, and was now a decent amount bigger than most adult 'taur.

Jaione squealed happily and followed her friend, clinging to Luke's leg and snuggling onto it. "Loooowke!!" she chirped, grinning upward at the cattaur as best she could, looking for approval. Her tail swished in the air a bit, before she fell prey to distraction again. She put a finger in her mouth, her stomach grumbling a bit. She looked curiously at it, before tipping her head at the cervi and pointing to her. "Hunguwy?"

Luke looked down in suprise as both little girls started clinging to his legs. When had this started?! He couldn't help but smile though. The girls both looking up at his with their big sweet eyes... He reached down and patted their heads. "That's right. Luke." He said, scratching their ears.
Hungry?! That was a whole new predicament. How much did babies eat?! And what did they like? He looked at Syem. "Do... you know what kids eat?"

The cervi girl flicked her tiny tail at Luke's petting, then looked at Jaione's stomach with wide eyes. What was that?! It had sounded like what had come from her own tummy before...
She rubbed her belly and nodded. "Goo plah."

Syem couldn't help but laugh behind one of his hands at Luke's predicament. He blinked in surprise at the fact that the little cattaur was still hungry, and glanced back up at Luke when the question was posed. "Um... I'm not all that sure. I know that she" -he pointed to the small, glittering cattaur- "liked the appleth that I got for her earlier... but athide from that, I don't really know what elthe they can eat." Thankfully, he felt that, being a naga, he was exempt from being completely aware of what young four-leggers ate, as hunting for them wasn't exactly his forte. "What did you eat when you were little?"

Jaione purred a bit when she was pet, before looking at her friend and nodding a couple times. She made a thoughtful expression, and looked up at Syem and then at Luke, before glancing over to where she and Syem had originally come from. Her face brightened. "Appoes?" she asked the other girl, referencing the crisp fruit that Syem had gotten for her earlier.

Luke snorted. "I don't remember much what I ate. Mostly green stuff since I grew up with centaurs." He tilted his head. "Well, cervis aren't too far from centaurs. She must like plants then. Jaione though... Some plants, but um, probably some meat too." He had remembered he was the only one growing up who got a bit of meat at his meals. Something else the other kids had teased him for.

The cervi girl blinked her deep purple eyes and frowned. She didn't know what appoes were. She looked up at Luke. "Appoes?" She repeated hesitantly.

Syem made mental notes toward what Luke said to feed the little cattaur, before glancing down at both of the girls, curious to know what they were saying. Having been hatched rather than simply birthed, he'd come into the world with a fair grasp of the language that he'd heard through the soft shell of his egg. As a result, he hadn't the slightest idea what the two girls were talking about. Though, judging by the idea of both of them being hungry, and the resemblance that 'appoes' bore to 'apples', he assumed that Jaione was talking about the tree that both of them had met beneath.

Jaione gasped at her friends lack-of-knowledge concerning the fruit, and she took the girl's hand in her own, tugging her off in the direction of the apple tree- which, thankfully, wasn't all that far away. Upon arrival, she pointed upward with a smile, gesturing toward the far-away fruits that she would expect one of the adults to get for her. "Appoes!!"

Syem's tail-tip flicked, and he sat up when the two girls went of in search of what he presumed was that apple tree. "I'll have to keep that thuggestion in mind; for now, I think we should be following thothe two," he commented, slipping through the brush that Jaione and he had originally appeared through, hoping that Luke wasn't going to stay over there and leave him with both a cervitaur and a cattaur to take care of; after all, he could barely take care of himself properly.

The cervi girl giggled happily as she was pulled along. They were going on a trip? Her eyes widened when she saw the apple tree. It smelled so yummy! "Yum!" She squeaked, making grabby-hands at the out-of-reach fruit. "Loooooke!!" She whined for his help.

Luke stared at the bush the girls had vanished through. And then Syem too. He debated leaving them for a few seconds. What kind of care-giver was he supposed to be? He knew nothing about raising a kid. And they had Syem now...
He had actually started to turn hesitantly away when he heard his name called. "Why...?" He muttered to himself, as he turned back hastily to catch up to the little voice calling for him. How had that kid gotten into his head so easily?

Jaione smiled, and then drove her claws into the tree's trunk, grabbing at whatever places had hand-holds. She gasped when one of her feet slipped, but thankfully didn't fall. When she was only a couple more feet up, she whined, trying to reach out toward a low branch that held some of the fruits on it. She pouted at the fruit that refused to be close enough for her to grab at it. Growling like the kitty that she was, she finally pulled herself up high enough to drag herself out onto one of the branches, where she slowly crept forward and plucked an apple off the tree, thinking that she would give it to Vesna. When she looked down, though, she mewled pitifully and hugged the branch, realizing that her arms were far too short to reach down that far, and that she was much higher up than she'd thought she was.

Syem didn't actually get there until Jaione was up in the tree, having gone to a different apple tree at first- how was he supposed to know the difference? Sighing softly, he looked the tree over, trying to figure out how he was going to get up to the little cattaur. She wasn't as high up as she could have been, thankfully, and she was also on a pretty sturdy-looking branch, but it didn't look like she was all that pleased to be up there. He glanced toward the newly arrived blue cattaur, and then looked back at his ward. "Umm... do you have any idea of how to get her down from up there?"

Watching in awe as her friend climbed, the cervi girl was happily imagining taking a bite of that yummy smelling food. Hearing the mewling brought her back, and realizing that Jaione was afraid, let out a shriek and stumbled toward the adults, pointing and gibbering fearfully. "Down!" She demanded of them.

Luke broke through the brush and frowned at the young cattaur. How'd she manage to get up there? He held back a laugh seeing that both girls were really afraid and he cocked an eye curiously at Syem. "Since when can't nagas get up a tree?"
"Stay there Jaione. Don't move." He said calmly, knocking and picking at the trunk to see if he would be able get up there himself, using the same method Jai had.

Jaione clung desperately to the tree, and avoided crying as best as she could at such a young age. Truly, she'd never been up this high, and she'd been so distracted with getting some of the apples, she hadn't been paying attention to how high she was getting. She cracked open her purple eyes and glanced down at the cattaur, who was telling her not to move and to stay where she was. She nodded rapidly, hugging onto the trees with both arms and all four of her legs, claws digging into the tree branch. It was almost unlucky that she was so light, because if she weren't, the branch would probably be able to bend low enough at the end for one of the 'taur to just pluck her off the end of it.

"I can climb treeth," Syem mumbled, eying the little girl as well as the cattaur who was preparing to get her down. As for the cervitaur, he cautiously pat her head, worried that he would scare her more than she already was. "I jutht..." He reached upward with one hand, toward one of the apples, and made a slicing motion. With a small, quick, and precisely oriented gust of wind, the apple's stem was severed from the tree, and it dropped, the naga catching it in the hand that had cut it down. He offered it to Vesna, as though trying to console her. "I jutht prefer to thtay on the ground." His tail twitched fretfully and he glanced back up with concern at the small cattaur in the apple tree. Despite the fact that he didn't plan on climbing to get her down, he remained concerned. If he tried to get her down, he'd probably get stuck in the tree as well.

Srinking away slightly from Syem's pat, the little cervitaur looked up at the naga with large eyes. Had her parents really been lying? She looked at the apple hungrily, hesitantly reaching her hand toward it, then snatching it and clutching it to her chest. She looked between it and Syem repeatedly before risking a small bite. YUM!! With a tiny smile, she took a careful half-step closer to Syem and sat down. "Nank yoo." She said softly before munching more on the apple and watching the cattaurs.

Luke nodded distractedly to Syem, only half paying attention now. He figured he could get into the tree and get Jai safely. Crouching into pounce form, he jumped up the trunk which got him just below the lowest trunk. He clung with his claws, using his hands to brace himself and find the best spots to grip next. He soon reached the brach Jai was in, for extremely high to her was only a short climb to him. He crouched on the branch, slinking slowly along it. He felt it start to bend down slightly, but it was a sturdy low branch, and he wasn't worried.
"Come on Jai. I've got you." He pat Jai's back a little for comfort and wrapped his hands around her sides. "You can let go."

Syem chuckled lightly at the hesitance of the small cervitaur, as well as her happiness upon taking a bite of the apple he'd given her. The tip of his tail twitched a bit, before he curled himself up, watching the scene unfolding with a mild amount of interest and a heap of concern for both parties involved. When the little girl thanked him, he looked almost surprised, and glanced down at her. He gave the little one a small smile and a half of a nod. "You're welcome, little one," he replied, before turning his attention back to the tree, though he was quite glad that the little girl seemed to like him a bit now. It was at least a step in the right direction.

Jaione kept her eyes fastened shut, and her grip only got tighter when the branch started to lean down a little bit. Of course, with her eyes closed, this only seemed scarier to her, as though it would be any moment that she was going to fall out of the tree. When she felt Luke's hands wrap around her, she immediately released the tree, and instead clung to the cattaur who'd been brave enough to rescue her. "Tankoo, Loowke..." she said quietly, clamping her eyes shut once more and shivering a bit.

Luke cooed softly to the frightened baby, pulling her close with the arm she was clinging to. Making sure she was secure, he slid off the branch holding it by one arm, then dropping the rest of the way. Landing as gracefully as any cattaur, he walked back to the others. "Okay Jaione. You're down now." He inclined his head toward Vensa. "Thanks for feeding her." He said to Syem with a nod.

The cervi-girl munched happily on the large apple. She held it carefully with both hands, her attention pulled between her friends and the yummy food. When the cattaurs returned, Vesna noticed Jaione shaking. With a concerned frown, she stood up and trotted over to her, holding out the half eaten apple. "Jaiooon? Food?"

Even after the both of them had reached the ground, Jaione was clinging tightly to the cattaur who'd lifted her out of the tree, as though she thought that she would fall even from such a low height, in such trusting arms. She shuddered just a bit, her eyes clamped shut. When Luke told her that she was down now, her purple eyes opened very slowly, before she carefully jumped to the ground, landing on unsteady legs. When Vesna offered her the apple, she smiled happily, and took it for herself, taking a bit of it and munching on it happily, before she hugged her friend. It was good to be on the ground...

Syem smiled a bit at the cattaur, glad that he could help. "You're quite welcome. Thank you for getting Jaione down from the tree," he said, laughing softly, and secretly hoping that they girl didn't ever get herself caught in a tree again. Geez, what would he do without Luke to get her out?

Luke nodded modestly. "It was no problem." He looked down at the two girls hugging and he smirked slightly. He couldn't deny how adorable and sweet they looked right then.
"Well, I suppose I should be getting along. See if I can find the kid's parents or someone to look after her. Later." So he scooped up the cervi babe and headed off.

The cervi girl clung to Jaione, happy to see the cattaur back safely and smiling again. "No up Jiooonee." She said in a motherly kind of fashion, telling Jai to stop climbing trees. That had been scary, seeing her friend so frightened.
Squeaking slightly when Luke picked her up, she waved her small arm at her new friends, hoping to see them again soon.
