Khamsyn felt a moment of panic as Abacus got past him and around to his unprotected back. Spinning around, he fully expected to feel the sting of a strike. He knew it was coming and he cringed. But it didn't come. He caught sight of Abacus and quirked and eyebrow, guessing what might have happened. "It seems we both have depth perception issues huh?" He chuckled lightly as he stepped forward.
While he was chuckling, his feet dug in and made sure he was steady and stable. He drew close enough that he knew he was in range this time. Coming to a stop, the smile dropped from his face to be replaced by a stern, ready look. As quickly as he could muster, he pivoted and sent a kick to Abacus' side. He hoped to connect with the Zero's ribs, but any connection at all would be helpful this time.

Abacus clenched his jaw and brought his arm back in. This wasn't turning out too well -- Khamsyn had pushed him to a defensive stance, and at this point... As soon as the other moved, Abacus dodged towards his right and dropped down, dodging yet again while throwing out a low kick. Hopefully he could avoid most of that kick -- he needed to learn more defensive stances, preferably ones that could attack and defend at the same time. Wait, didn't Orry's cov-- focus, Abacus! Flip through that book later!

Once more Khamsyn was treated to the nimbleness of his opponent as Abacus easily evaded the full force of his kick. Still, he'd managed to tag him, that was something. He'd praise Abacus later for that, right now he had a counter attack to deal with. Raising his leg off the ground enough to, hopefully, knock Abacus' kick away thus blocking it, Khamsyn concentrated and punched down at his opponent with all the force he could, knowing it was a longshot at best. He felt his concentration falter at the last moment and had that same sinking feeling he'd had earlier. This could be bad.

WHUMP! Abacus withdrew his leg as Khamsyn successfully blocked it, then turned the withdraw into a roll off to one side to dodge the incoming punch. With that completed, Abacus bounced to his feet and attempted to flank Khamsyn again in order to perform another kick, this time aimed higher.
Ow! He didn't manage to roll fast enough! Abacus winced and rolled, then got up and onto his feet before throwing the punch. He'll have to take time to gasp and clutch his stomach in pain later.

Khamsyn's knuckles tingled a little after his punch connected with Abacus' skull, but he tried his best to shake it off. He had to keep his wits about him, he knew how fast his opponent could be, and how sneaky. It was pure luck thus far that kept Abacus from connecting with Khamsyn, and the latter knew his luck would run out eventually. He had to wrap this up quickly. He attempted to push all distractions from his mind and swept his left arm down to block the incoming kick. Successful or not, he couldn't hestitate even a second to find out. He planted his feet firmly, adjusting his weight and fired out another punch, aiming, like Kallisto had taught him, to strike a point directly behind Abacus' head.
His aim was a little too good and he punched past Abacus' head without connecting. "Oh... crap..."

Another block! Abacus was impressed. Even though they were of the same orientation, Abacus didn't do too well when it came to blocking -- he was either too slow to too fast. Instead, he relied on dodging. I need to work on that. I wonder if he has any pointers? Hey, it's best to be prepared for the moments where dodging is impossible, right?
Abacus felt the breeze Khamsyn's punch left behind as it sailed past his head. Now was his chance! The journeyman threw his fists out in a one-two punch, then he threw his body back to finish the combo off with a kick! He had to give it his all -- he was starting to ache from where Khamsyn made contact.

Khamsyn cocked an eyebrow at Abacus as the latter launched into a combo of attacks. He must be hurting more than Khamsyn realized because the punches and kick were not well aimed and missed their mark. His heart softened a little for his opponent, but it wasn't over yet.
Shifting his weight onto his front leg, Khamsyn lashed out with a quick punch. It was meant as more of a distraction than a useful strike, but if it connected, all the better. It didn't. Shifting his stance once more, he leaned back, aimed for an opening and launched a straight kick to Abacus' chest. A fraction of a second later he saw the opening close up but it was too late to stop the kick.

Abacus hissed his frustration as he missed not one, but three times in a row. He had to find a way to end this quickly, since at this rate...
The journeyman held his ground and prepared to block the incoming attack, and proving he had his timing right he struck back with a kick and punch combo of his own.

Khamsyn continued to curse under his breath as his kick was blocked by his stalwart opponent. "Nice.." was all he was able to say before he was put on the defensive by a nice little flurry of strikes. He did his best to swat away the punch with one arm as he dropped the other down to try and knock the kick wide.
Abacus was starting to find his groove. That was not good for Khamsyn, so he gritted his teeth and searched for steady footing, launching another kick in an attempt to end this here and now.

Block, block -- how was he doing this?! Abacus threw himself to one side to try and dodge the kick, then followed it with a block just in case he wasn't able to get out of range fast enough in his weakened state. Once that was done, he threw out two kicks of his own.
"Agh!" Abacus winced as the attack struck his arm. He was barely able to deflect that! I should invest in some arm-guards at this rate, or something.

Amazingly Abacus managed to dance and contort himself away from the full force of the kick, but Khamsyn did feel a slight touch of connection. He didn't have too much time to dwell on it though as a pair of lightning fast kicks were coming his way. His forearms were starting to get sore from the blocks, but he knew with kicks coming from different directions dodging both would be nearly impossible. He literally threw himself to one side to avoid the kick on that side while trying to sweep the other blow aside.
As he landed, his legs bowed slightly, feet digging into the ground and like a coiled spring his body thrust upward just enough to add force to an uppercut aimed right towards Abacus' chin.

This is it! Abacus thought, throwing his kicks and hitting... nothing? As soon as his foot contacted the ground again, Abacus pushed off of it to spring to one side not once, but twice in an attempt to dodge Khamsyn's next attack. Feeling tired and a little desperate, Abacus reached out and tried to grab ahold of Khamsyn's punch while throwing a kick out to him at the same time.

Again Khamsyn's attack found nothing but empty air. He was starting to get frustrated, but he still maintained his cool... for the moment. Abacus must be getting desperate because he was throwing caution to the wind and going all out. Thankfully his fatigue seemed to be hindering his attempts. Two could play this game.
Going on the offensive one hundred percent, Khamsyn launched a quick one-two punch as he sized up his opponents weak points and shot a kick out towards any opening he could find. He just needed one blow to connect, he could feel it.
Once more he saw the perceived opening shut at the last moment and cursed silently.

Uh-oh. This wasn't good. Abacus shifted his weight to begin a quick hop to the left, then realized quickly that he had no energy left. He couldn't take a hit, and at this rate... He had to make a stand. Abacus bent his knees and curled his hands into fists, and began attempting to block and shift Khamsyn's attacks off and away from him, hoping he made the right choice.
