"He doesn't have one, unfortunately," Gwen sighed. Nearly 300 years, and no husband! She still had her hope chest at the floor of her bed, too...
"He was born of magic. Much like I'm beginning to think you were."
David just giggled and put his other hand on the cold metal, then pausing a moment to think. Was nice and cold! He sighed and rested his cheek against Ethe'oj's hand. D'awwww~

"This one never asked about his creation, so you might be right." He replied airily, uncertain what to say or make of her earlier comment.
His eyes stared at the child and what the child would do with it. Upon having a cheek rested against the hand and Ethe smiled. "'Ai, David."

And the man's smile only mad Gwen grin broader. Oh, it was a touching moment. He would make a good father, for sure! David just gave a little burble and nuzzled Ethe'oj's hand softly before releasing him. There we go!

His hand released it fell to his side as he stood up glancing from child now to the woman and concentrating his gaze on her, "You are an aesthetically pleasing woman." It was a compliment, at least as much a compliment as he could shoot for right now.
A tick or two of seconds pass before he adds, "I am certain you will find a worthy man."

Gwen turned a deep red. Oh, my...she knew what that meant, and while it was strangely scientific it was still rather flattering.
"And you're a very aesthetically pleasing man," she said softly, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. She shuffled her feet slightly and brushed some hair behind her ear. Oh, she wished she had a telephone to give him a number to!
"Can I...can I have your phone number?"
She could always attack a payphone!

He paused a moment at her question and it was for two different reasons:
1. Trying to recall if he even had a phone, for he knew what those were. 2. Trying to recall the actual phone number.
Either way he didn't seem to see anything wrong with allowing the woman, whom was kind to him, have his number once he had ascertained the existence of both.
"My phone number is..." he said quietly as he clearly stated the series of numbers that would be needed to contact him, and would repeat the numbers if asked.

Gwen just smiled and nodded. her memory was very good...it had to be, when you lived so far away from available technology! "Thank you," she said softly, and then scampered over the grabbed a potted wisteria. She didn't really care so much which one she picked now, and so she gave the man a little wave as she headed out of the room.
"Goodbye, Ethe'oj."
"BAAAAI!"

He watched her move about with no real expression on his face now. Ethe was perhaps only mildly confused but it didn't show as the woman abruptly picked up a potted wisteria and left.
"Good bye, Gwendolyn and David." After a while of standing idly by when they had left he two wandered off for parts unknown.
