Miles looked over at her, slowly, and exhaled smoke loudly. He was not used to being spoken to likely. “Funny, because I remember a provoked attack on your part. After showing everyone who you are in the most revealing way possible of course.”

Kyrin stopped in her tracks, staring at him wide eyed, she opened her mouth to say something, but when she couldn‘t think of anything, she simply stared at him. Her body language showed the obvious anger that was coursing through her at the moment. And her mind screamed, You have got to be kidding me!

“You are such a son of a b***h!” Kyrin yelled after him, her frustration bubbling over. Tears of anger sprung to her eyes, but she fought them back.

Miles turned around exasperatedly, but smiling at her insult. He observed her standing there, angry. “Are you coming princess?” his voice was half annoyed, half teasing.

Kyrin was silent for a moment, battling with her emotions. He had called her by the name that she had been called when she was younger, though when she was a child, it was an endearing term. The way he said it and the smile that spread across his face caused the tears that were finding their way to her eyes to disappear. Without a word she began to walk again.

They walked the rest of the way (a total of 10 blocks), long enough to cool their heads and also long enough to scare any night-owl pedestrians by appearance alone. Miles was on his second cigarette by then, but decided to put it out in the tray before entering the elevator. Once in the building, the pair was met by the curious eyes of some of their associates, but most turned away quickly and none said anything. They were silent the entire time, and didn’t speak before parting ways. Before going to his room, Miles leaned close to her, having half a mind to kiss her, but decided not to in the end. He used his thumb to stroke her cheek instead, and turned around, immediately regretting showing such fondness. He was supposed to still be angry, and decided he would talk with her about it later.

A sigh escaped Kyrin’s lips when he touched her cheek. Having cooled down a bit she found her body responding to his touch, but as he turned away, she realized that their argument wasn’t going to be so easily forgotten. Turning as well, she made her way to her room. Unlocking the door quietly Kyrin entered the room, flipping on the light. Taking off her jacket, she realized that she was still wearing Mile’s jacket. She set both on the bed and winced as her eye began to hurt again.

At the sound the opening door, Nori opened the bathroom door to Ky’s room, seeing her bruised, stained, and disoriented under the light. “Ky!” He rushed to her side, and after seeing her blackened eye, immediately ran back into the bathroom, thrusting a towel under cold water and rushing back. It wasn’t too unusual for Ky to be out late, but Nori had been growing steadily more worried for her as she’d been out late more and more often. He handed her the cold towel to put to her eye, and noticed a man’s jacket beside her’s on the bed. He knew immediately that it was Miles’. Out of everyone, Nori was probably suspicious first; Her absences made him wonder if she had been partying late, but when Miles had stopped by a few times while Nori had been close by, his suspicions rose considerably. But now it seemed like she was getting into trouble with him as well. “Ky…What happened?”

When Nori came back with the towel, Kyrin took it and began to clean herself off with it, thanking him. She still had no idea that her eye was as bad as it was. Wiping the wine away from her neck, she said slowly, “Ran into a bit of trouble.” She smiled, “Its no problem, the wine will come out.”

Nori looked at her, bewildered. “No Ky; Your-…Your eye…” He took the towel from her gently, folding over to a clean side of the towel, starting to dab. “It’s so dark…”

Kyrin flinched, “Ow, don-” She grimaced, “Don’t do that.” Moving away from Nori, Kyrin looked at her reflection in the mirror and nearly lost her temper again, “My… my eye!” She couldn’t keep the horror and anger from her face.

“Sorry,” He bleated. “I don’t know what we can do about it… Did you get in a fight?”

Kyrin touched her face gingerly, her dismay clear, “More or less.” She said, turning back to Nori.

“Ky…” Nori could tell that she was being vague on purpose. He didn’t say anything for a moment. If there was something that Ky was trying to keep secret from him, it must have been something that could get her into a considerable amount of trouble. He wanted her to tell him herself what had happened in case he could help, but Nori couldn’t make her say anything if she didn’t want to. “ Does it… have something to do with Miles?” Although he already knew it did, he was hoping against everything that it wasn’t Miles who had hit her.
