Once Morgan had finished her section of the circle she whisked away to ferret out the items requested, disappearing over the edge of the ridge that secluded this little section of beach in search of some suitable sticks for the gate. There wasn't really anything large in the immediate area for all that there was quite a bit of scrub past the point where the waves washed up the highest.

Endless had stood as soon as the circle was done, straightening just in time to get the affectionate bump from Aurum. It made him feel warm and happy, and he paused for a moment before retrieving his own bucket to watch her. She was a fine mix of her parents, and a wonderful person in her own right. Sometimes he found himself wondering if she might even be more beautiful than her mother, but it was a tough call. With a lopsided grin and a shake of his head he retrieved his bucket and joined Aurum. One thing was for sure, she was going to make some unbelievably lucky guy incredibly happy some day. It was silly but he was almost jealous at the idea.

End was going back for a second bucket when Morgan returned with some sticks that were straight up to about the same hight and then sprouted a bunch of smaller branches at the top that would curve inward and form a bit of an arch. With a grin she deposited them and was off again to search for a tidal pool to see if she could find some seaweed.

Morgan, too, had grown into something special, though she was a lot more rough and tumble, and her energy far less quiet. She would need someone to go on adventures and joke and rough-house with. Endless chuckled a bit and shook his head, wondering why he'd even started thinking about such things. "Ed's going to flip when the day comes that you two find guys to fall in love with..." He chuckled again, flashing Aurum a grin after his comment before shrugging and picking up the sticks. "So, where should we put our gate?"

Flashing her sister a bright grin at her findings, tails wagging, Aurum did not get a chance to comment before she was off again. It made her smile even more, because it was so like Morgan to keep moving like that.

She was starting to fill her bucket with damp sand when Endless' comment made her pause. For some reason... an odd yet strangely pleasant little tingle went through her small little body as she turned to look at him with her head tilted curiously and her green eyes bright and wide. Where... had that come from? And... why... why did it ... make her feel funny-tingly like this? At End's grin and shrug though it was easy for Aurum to smile again, giving a little giggle. "Um... Towards the cliff. So we can take a picture of it with the sea behind it. Who'd put a gate only opening to the water anyway, right?"

Aurum was 'cheating' -using her wand to float her bucket over to the outside of the circle they had drawn to make the first side of the gate so she could talk while she did so. She walked too, as if carrying it which she would have been had there been another way but in her mouth. By the time she was finished talking she was able to lift the bucket from the sand 'tower' with her white-gloved paws. Smiling at her accomplishment she looked up to catch the older male's shining white eyes. Faintly her playful sandcastle-making smile softened to something a little more serious. "If that ever happens... you'll be the first non-family I'll tell, okay Starry?" Smile. Pause. Slight worried frown. He voice softened slightly. "I don't want Daddy to flip..."

Softly she chuckled and lightly shook her head, flashing a smile. It would be inevitable, wouldn't it? her daddy flipping when any of his girls found someone to love. Idly, Aurum wondered if he would if William found someone too and crinkling her eyes with a grin trotted with bucket handle in mouth to fetch another pail of damp sand.

Endless placed the sticks by where he figured they should go and went to retrieve another bucket of sand to prop the other stick up with before returning to place the bucket and then the sticks into the sand. He watched with a soft grin as her expression changed and changed again before giving her a bemused wink. "Well, when ever it happens, I'll try to keep Ed from glaring the guy to death before we get to know him." He stuck his tongue out playfully then. He doubted Ed would actually do anything to whoever it was unless they really deserved it but Ed would certainly be very grumpy about it for a while.

Morgan crested the ridge again then, trotting down to rejoin the two with several strands of seaweed trailing behind her. She was moving them with her wand much like Aurum had her bucket... but for different reasons. Seaweed tasted weird and she didn't want it in her mouth. "Think this'll do it, Rum?"

She made a face and stuck her tongue out back at Endless. Aurum was glad he would be there... and yet... at the same time there was an odd little feeling of discomfort, even of unhappiness trying to think of introducing someone to her Starry so he could help her break it to her daddy. It... did not make sense and it actually hurt a little so the little alchemist-witch pushed it aside.

Pushed the funny feelings she did not understand aside and spun to check out what her sister brought back with a beaming smile. "Yes!! Yes, I think so! Oh let's get working on the castle so we can dig the moat around it!"

The little kitsu flipped over her bucket for the other side of the gate. As she was lifting the bucket from the sand Aurum turned her head to the older male so quickly her long braid fell and swayed over her shoulder and into the sand. "Are we doing this right, Starry?" He was older, the artist -no... the sculptor. This was more his area of expertise. Of course, Aurum would probably have turned to him for advice and guidance even if it was not, but that was not the point right now.

"There's not that much of a right or wrong when you're making a sand castle. As long as the sand is packed together well enough to stay upright it usually turns out well. And we're all three making this one, so we can all pitch in ideas and try things with it. That's part of the fun of doing things like this with friends." Endless smiled and wagged his tails, an easy and happy gesture from the male that few aside from Aurum and Morgan had been witness to for a while.

And work they did, between the three of them and two wands the sand piled up and quickly started taking form. The end result might not necessarily be what most would call a masterpiece, but the paw of all three "artists" could be seen in the end result. Once satisfied that their creation wouldn't topple over, Endless led the way under the little arch and into the courtyard, grinning at the two girls. "I think we did a good job, ladies, what do you say?"

"It's fantastic! Morgan exclaimed, with an innocent and kitlike giggle following soon after. "'Rum did great with the ideas for the moat and all. We all do a bit of artsy stuff with transmutation and Charms and things but I didn't realize she was so good at it."

The small kitsu grinned with the direction, happy simply for it and from whom it came. It was not even a conscious reaction, it merely was. Confidence with their progress and path now solidified Aurum worked diligently and happily on their group endeavor, tails wagging and eyes bright. Sand clung to her white & gold fur and even her long braid where it fell and trailed forgotten but automatically stepped over on the sandy ground. She had no words or even understanding to explain how happy she was to see the others happy and having so much fun. No words to explain the sheer joy that always came when Starry was showing his happiness around them. Not even a thought that he was not so carefree and easy with others, Aurum of course thought he was, for why would he not be. Endless was Endless.

Aurum was in an awed silence as she followed Endless and her sister beneath the arch, glancing up with wide green eyes that the arch was holding. Oh, she knew it would hold & even knew all the science and alchemy for why it would but that did not diminish the wonder. She turned with them and sat, gazing at their creation wide-eyed and mute. It looked... different from the outside. How did it seem so grand? To her it looked even better than it really did, and happy tears wet her eyes and statyed there as a smile slowly crept and relit her face. It was fantastic, as Morgan said. Better than fantastic. But before she could exclaim her own words on this Aurum found herself mute once again -this time blushing hotly making red cheeks glow through soft white fur instantly though she was not sure why the compliments made her feel this way.

Finally Arum found her voice, shaking her head as a giggle slipped out. "It was all of us." She said softly, wanting to list off the wonderful things Morgan and Endless did and showing how much better their inputs were than hers but finding her mouth felt full of sand at the overwhelming prospect of it. Besides... she was still in shock. Morgan thought she was good with the artsy stuff? Her braid dragged through the sand as she glanced momentarily shy eyes from her sister to Starry, subconsciously seeking the artist's opinion on that but not expecting one and certainly not inclined to ask.

Still blushing she used her wand to fetch the camera to take a picture of their work from the outside before making a small pillar of sand to hold the camera so that they could use the timer to take pictures of themselves with the castle.

"Well... sure we all chipped in, 'Rum, but that doesn't mean you didn't do really good at it. Right?" She turned to look at Endless with that last.

"Right." He gave both girls an affectionate bump with his nose, though he went ahead and gave Aurum a brief nuzzle along with it to reassure her unasked question. "But the best thing is we all did it together, right?"

Morgon nodded agreement and then moved to help position the camera properly, and then to help with the taking of all the pictures until they got a shot with all three of them by the archway. Then, as if on cue, her stomach rumbled. "...I'm glad I thought to pack something to eat."

Endless laughed at that and helped with setting out everything so they could all sit and relax the faster. It was a good day today... with time well spent.

Her sister's words pleased and warmed Aurum but it was the older male's single word and touch that sent a pleasant tingle through her petite body. A happy smile broke out over her blushing face as she nodded, the sand touched end of her braid making trails upon the ground beside her. "Right!"

She giggled softly watching Morgan set up the camera and as her face cooled hoped that it had done so enough not to tinge her fur for the picture. That was something the little alchemist-witch forced herself not to check right away. Really... as much as Aurum wanted to know the answer she did not want to know now. On an inner level she knew... that if she checked now and she was blushing in the picture she would only blush again more furiously even than before.

Aurum's giggle burst out with more volume and mirth as Morgan's belly indicated the end of their 'photo shoot' audibly. "Bet your belly is too, hey Morgan?" She teased her older sister, skip-bounding out of the way with a grin and a small flutter of her wings. Not too much flutter -she did not want to stir up any sand. It would be horrible to get fur onto their food, or worse into any of their eyes. The thought of hurting or damaging her sister or Endless' eyes caused a dull ache to grip in her chest. It won't happen. Aurum insisted to herself and the ache softened.

Returning to a state of contentment Aurum brushed the sand off her white gloves to clean the alchemy circles stitched onto the palms as she sat on her haunches. Her face went thoughtful for a moment before she shook her head with a slightly sheepish grin. She did not need alchemy for this. Grinning Aurum set about fixing a fire by paw. "Starry did you find the teapot? We could set the water boiling..." Slightly Aurum frowned in thought then grinned in a soft yet silly way. "Suppose I could use some alchemy to get the salt out of the water first, yes?"

"Getting the salt out first would probably be a good thing, huh?" Endless grinned, somewhat sheepishly, as he pulled the teabags out of the pot in question and handed it to Aurum. "I'll let you do that first."

Once it was done he returned the teabags to the pot and helped set it up to boil while they set out a cloth to rest on nearby and set the bit of food out. It was only snacks, but it was wonderful all the same.

During all of this Morgan kept casting idle but curious glances between Aurum and Endless, something she couldn't quite place setting off a bell in the back of her mind. 'Rum seemed to be reacting to their old friend differently, somehow, but Morgan just couldn't put her paw on what it was. The pot started whistling before she could puzzle over it too much longer. "You wanna get it, 'Rum, or should I?"

"You girls don't have to get it."

It was the start of a protest that Morgan waved away before sticking her tongue out at him. "We've got wands, and there's no reason to risk having you burn a paw or something when we can do it safely without anyone having to touch anything hot."

Endless started to protest again, but closed his mouth when Morgan proceeded to raise an eyebrow at him. "I suppose you're right," he admitted, though he didn't let it go without an affectionately exasperated eyeroll.

Something in her chest fluttered and flipped in response to the way the older kitsusagi smiled. The combination had Aurum giggling as she took the teapot with a grin and worked her alchemy upon the water before handing it back. She was somewhat teasing Endless, yet at the same time not because she had not thought of it at the very first either. Still... it was fun to be 'one-up' in a way to the more experienced male.

Bounding around helping with their 'meal' Aurum worked around a slightly giddy feeling she could not place yet passed off as simply being happy to be spending so much fun time with Morgan & Endless. She did not notice the glances of her sister, smiling brightly at Morgan the one time she did notice the dark furred kitsu was looking her way.

Her pause came midstride after the kettle's whistle, green eyes shifting to blink at her sister with a silly 'huh?' expression as if Aurum had been caught deep in thought. Truthfully, she had been idly wondering if the bubbly feeling she was experiencing was anything like a soda or bottle of champagne might feel like. Her head flicked quickly like a magnet when Endless spoke and for a brief moment Aurum startled herself. Her breath suddenly picked up as she watched, still having not moved since her sister called to her. She heard the conversation, saw it... even giggling when Morgan stuck out her tongue at Endless, then more seeing the elder male 'put in his place' and her sister acting so mature in a sense. A grin spread warmly across her face almost to beat the warmth pooling through her body. Shaking her head as if at her two companions the white and gold kitsu slipped her wand from its holster and drew the magic that would levitate their teakettle from the fire to a stone beside it. So it would stay warm.

A flash in her eyes showed something perplexed her but it was minor and gone as soon as it appeared. It was replaced with a smile and followed by a giggle. So what if she was momentarily at a loss for words? Nothing needed to be said. Not really. Her smile grew & she blushed as another giggle took her. It was nothing really. Simply finding happiness & humor in the day.

Aurum's giggly energy was somewhat infectious, and somewhere along the way Endless started laughing good-naturedly because of it. That in turn set Morgan giggling with a paw over her mouth, which caused Endless to laugh even harder, and the entire scene seemed to devolve into a giant giggle fit for several moments before Morgan started gasping for breath and it finally began to calm.

After catching his own breath Endless moved over by Aurum and wrapped a paw around her shoulders to hold her close for several moments in a rather grateful hug. "Ah, I haven't laughed like that in a while!" Something in the back of his mind registered how nice she smelled as he sat back down to eat. He should ask what sort of soap they used later, or something.

Time passed as they finished their mini-meal, sipped tea, and tweaked at the sand castle and just played in general. The sun started to dip toward the horizon sooner than any of them probably wanted, but the days were shorter now than they had been in the summer and there was naught to do about it.

"You girls want to wait and see the stars come out or do you think we should head back?" Endless asked, peering at the two sisters. It struck him for a moment as it did from time to time that their appearances were almost like night and day in how different they were. But 'Rum was really rather startling in the light of the setting sun, with the way the light shone off of her pale fur. Part of him wanted to make a sculpture of it later... but somehow the thought made him a bit uncomfortable. Why? It was just Aurum...

He shook it off as Morgan pranced up the beach toward the sunset a short way. "I say we wait for the stars. Heck, when do 'Rum and I ever pass up a chance to go stargazing with you, Endless?" She stuck her tongue out at him for yet another time that day and padded back to the blanket to make herself comfortable while they watched the sunset.

Oblivious that her giggles had spurred the laugh-fest Aurum simply enjoyed the occurrence. She loved any time they could get Endless to really, truly smile for there was often the older male seemed sad or somehow too caught up in the past. He was so free when he did let go, and it thrilled the tiny kitsu no end to see it.

At his touch Aurum instinctively nuzzled in, curving her head around Endless' neck to return the hug. She purred softly, not noticing as her long braid slipped from between shoulders and wings to thump softly upon the sand at her paws. Her heartbeat felt too loud but Aurum was smiling, pleased now more than ever that they had brought such joy to Endless as was in his voice. 'He should laugh like that more then.' The petite white and gold kitsusagi decided firmly, reveling in the residual feel that was the starry-male's chest coming back down from such full laughter.

The meal was pleasant. Happy. Of course time spent with two of her favorite individuals would be so, Aurum had no doubt. She was mildly disappointed that the day was drawing to a close as the sun's rays shifted colors due to the changing layers of atmosphere it passed to get to them because though it meant their time was nearly over it also heralded the coming of her favorite time of day.

Unaware that her dear 'Starry' was watching them as her own green eyes looked upon the sunset Aurum nodded her agreement with her sister's words. "Stars. Definitely." A small smile graced her maw as she withdrew her gaze from the sky to playfully crinkle her nose at their one-time baby-sitter of sorts. Her sister was just so silly sticking her tongue out like that. Must get it from their dad because 'Rum could not recall their mother ever doing anything quite like that. The notion had its own mirth. "Morgan's got a point, Starry: why'd you even ask?" A hint of pink showed through the white fur of her cheeks as she settled on the blanket with her sister -leaving just enough room between them for the larger male's form.

Her voice softened reverently before trailing off. "As if we could go home without seeing such a clear view of the stars..." Aurum sighed softly, resting her head daintily over crossed white-gloved paws -her eyes for the moment both upon the natural show of the sky's and its resulting display within the reflective stars of Endless' coat. They twinkled in fiery colors, drawing her eye and attention. Aurum found herself wondering if her sister was as transfixed with the display as she was but could not bring herself to have he heart to voice her query. Part of her did not want to know.

These feelings... Aurum could not define them nor put them to words, but she was happy. Unbearably happy, and that was more than enough.

((I'm not really sure what else to do with this so I guess I'm just going to start wrapping this up.))

Endless chuckled and settled between the two girls in the spot obviously left for him and shook his head. "Yes, really, why did I ask?" The mirth from moments ago still lit his face for some time even after conversation faded while the three raptly watched the sky.

Morgan shifted herself just a bit away and stretched out, glancing as much at friend and sibling as the sky, though trying not to do so enough to draw attention to it. There was just that bit of amused suspicion dawning in her eyes when she noticed the way Rum snuggled into Endless and the way he curled his tails around her in turn and smiled. But perhaps it was nothing?... Maybe they were all just very happy with such a wonderful day. Maybe.

At last the stars shone bright and clear above and they all watched them glitter and flicker, though Morgan's occasional glances did note the way Rum seemed to be watching Endless as much as the sky. Maybe... She grinned internally and then quite suddenly found herself yawning. "As much as I'd like to stay here all night, we should probably get back. You know how everyone gets worried if we're out too late... and I'm getting sleepy!" She stretched in an over exaggerated manner and grinned at her companions. "Thanks though, Endless, today was just awesome."

((yeah. Sounds good. Guess I need to hunt down where I saved that Word file of Aurum's musings for when we start the next one. Gosh... was that Last Year I typed that up? *whimpers* yipes.))

Aurum for one did not notice as her sister shifted away on the other side of Endless. Not any more than perhaps a passing thought that Morgan was finding a more comfortable position. She, herself, was beyond comfortable. So beyond it Aurum would label the whole combination 'perfect' -except there was a thin, shimmering sense of yearning she could not quite place nor define somewhere deep, deep inside. But it was tiny, minuscule -like realizing there is a window or transparency upon a scene. The scents were perfect. The company was perfect. The sky was perfect. Aurum snuggled the side of her small body into the starry 'pillow' beside her and simply let herself bask in the moment.

Her sister's words of reason were a jarring jolt like an alarm clock breaking a beautiful dream. Necessary... but no matter how nice the sound, unwelcome. The sigh Aurum released felt heavier than her small size. "Yes... I suppose you're right of course."

Reluctantly the white and gold kitsusagi lifted her hind end and stretched, gloved paws reaching far in front of where her yawning mouth hinted at the little pink tongue within. Fanning out first one red to gold wing and then the other Aurum took her time preparing to leave. Let them accuse her of dallying for once, she could handle that. Was not she complying when her heart was not in it? Of course she did not want to get in trouble with their father... it was just she really did not want the perfect day they had shared to end either.

'An end is only a beginning. I wonder what beginning will be from this end? Could it be any more wonderful?' Shaking out some of the sand from her braid Aurum sighed in resignation and gave a soft yet slightly sad smile. "Well... guess we aught to get this over with."

Unintended tears wet her eyes as she flung her small body to embrace Endless' larger form in a hug. Why, why was it always so hard to part with him? Oh, she knew she could hug him at Haisyn Place when they dropped him off but if her body was going to betray her with things she was not expecting it was better she had that of her system here where only Morgan was audience. Really... 'Rum did not understand her self sometimes lately. "Thank you so much for coming with us, Endless. I had a wonderful time."

She nuzzled his neck. She was not crying. Blithely Aurum pulled back her head to beam a watery but bright smile first at Endless, then her sister. "Right, Morgan."

There was no room left for argument -which in looking back at it was a very un-Aurum-like thing to do. But her tails were wagging, certain her sister had a wonderful time too and truthful to herself that it had been a wonderful day.
