like everyone's been saying, it really all depends on the style of gosurori you wear. plus size girls might want to steer away from too many frills and lace and go for a more classy, sophisticated, Victorian Maiden style gosurori. I'm lucky I'm kinda short- 5'2". surprised

It does not matter at all. This is the free world, for goodness' sake! whee
I'm 5' 5", and I love to dress in lolita. I even wear the tall shoes (not exactly platforms, but, hey.)
You can be big-boned or a shrimp; it doesn't matter with lolita. As long as you don't make it obscene or anything.
The most beautiful lolita that I have seen in my life was worn by a girl who was almost 6 feet tall. Unbelievable. If you search for AnimeFest! 2005, you'll see her in black EGA, her friend in an unbelievable Parisian lolita. Exquisite.

i dont think height should matter at all.
what i think should mater is thin ness.
if a lolita can spend so much time looking for/making dresses ect she should know the inportance of what spending time on one thing can do. she will also lean lolita is a size small please type of affair.
simple as this, if your taking care of apperence you should be taking care of your health. stay in shape, every one should. not fat lolitas

cloudyhead simple as this, if your taking care of apperence you should be taking care of your health. stay in shape, every one should. not fat lolitas The problem with that thought is, there are some medical conditions such as tyroid imbalance or whatever which makes a person not be able to lose weight, and even with medication, it doesn't really help. neutral

-Do you generally think of loli's as short? I do generally think of them as short, but that's rather odd since I'm pretty tall myself.
-Should all loli's be rail-thin or petite? I don't think that lolis need to have a certain figure; I think that a person's attitude and cadence can make them more of a loli than can any body type.
-If you see a tall loli, does it seem odd to you? Only if that person is completely surrounded by lolis who are a foot shorter. It shouldn't be something that stops anyone from dressing loli, though, because it's definitely not necessarily a bad thing to stand out! wink

I think the reason loli models are short and skinny is because, well, most Asians tend to be short and skinny. sweatdrop I do not think size matters when it comes to lolita, but one should, as stated, wear what looks good on one's body type. I have seen pictures of large Japanese lolitas before.
I'm a short and skinny Asian, and wish I could be taller. xd If you are ever unhappy with your height, just know that most Asians want to be tall.

I like tall Lolis- Im not all that tall but I like wearing big shoes, a long velvet skirt and velvet jacket, classic EGL, as it makes me look a lot taller. Then again a tiny little girl in sweet Lolita would be adorable- so basically it doesnt matter.

skie 0 i can see why the models are short and skinny, that is what people want to see, and thats what the magazines want to show. i know it's not fun for us to see, but it is the case (studies media ^^). I've got an extreme hourglass figure, i have a 10" difference between my bust/hips and waist! and i'm always 2 odd inches away from being able to fit into an authentic dress. I'm 5'5", and even my height is concidered tall. In Japan obviously most of the people there are short, so i guess thats what the models are going to be. Short and petite.
I think all women should have a small belly to them, it adds character (:
...sorry if this doesn't answer any questions >> Me too!!
my measurements are 36-22-32. Its hard to find good loli stuff that will fit correctly
