Tunda looks up at Ed gratefully, leaning against the other for a moment before giving the crutches another try. "This is better than trying to walk around on my own without them, though. Also better than being forced to crawl or drag myself around." He murmurs, voice barely above a whisper, as if he had indeed been through all three situations before.

You have got to be kidding me. Ed watched Tunda carefully to make sure he could walk with some relative ease. He had no trouble hearing what the other anthro was uttering, and though he had come to expect that Tunda was being mistreated, it still evoked all kinds of images in the wolf's mind. "Almost there..."
"You won't have to worry about those kinds of injuries anymore." Mel was biting his lip and frowning; he was not sure what else to say. Instead he hurried ahead, into one of the guest suites. The light suddenly shone through to the hallway as he disappeared inside. The room was ready for its next occupant, or occupants, should it need to house more. It was just that big, like a spacious hotel room. He peeked back out at them after only a moment of surveying the surroundings. "It's ready," he grinned.

Tunda gives a small nod of understanding, hearing Ed speak before looking up at Mel, the hint of a genuine smile crossing his face. "Y-you two didn't really have to take me in... Most others would have just left me there. I... Dunno if I can ever repay you both for your kindness, but... I'll do what I can, since I think of myself as a burden to everyone in this condition. Can't cook, clean, or run errands..." He deliberately let the sentence trail off, not wanting to talk about what else he had done under Mull and Aion's 'loving' care.

Ed chuckled and withheld a slap on the back that he would normally have given. "Everyone pays rent here. Maybe not in money, but there's always something to do."
"Money's helpful though" Mel interjected with a laugh, eyes rolled up to the ceiling. "But everyone has something they're good at so it always balances out. Ed has the bar and does other stuff. Carlos keeps everyone's cars... and the appliances... and the lawnmower... tip-top. Others help out with kids. Others cook; others are helping with the remodel. Asalind is everyone's doctor, which has really come in handy with all the nail-in-thumb injuries." The dragon shrugged, grinning sheepishly because he had caught himself rambling. "Don't worry about it. Just get yourself well."
"Ha-ha, it's like one big happy family."
"Yeah, something like that..." Mel cleared his throat. Perhaps it was like a family... there were some doozer fights while most people got along, most of the time. "Maybe. Call it a community and call it good."

Tunda frowns slightly, looking down at his feet. Money was something he obviously didn't have, and the only skills he really possessed were the typical things people got slaves for. House work and bed work. His ears flick slightly as he cast a small glance in the dragon's direction, then shook his head. Tail flicking, he slowly looks around the room that he had been led to, his eyes widening slightly. "T-This is too big a room for something like me.." He blurts out, feeling very awkward and out of place, even more so than he had earlier.

Clearing his throat, the wolf scratched behind an ear. "I'm gonna get going... unless there's something else..."
"Er, no... We should be fine." Why did it suddenly feel awkward in here? Mel took the ice pack from Ed and waved good-night to him as he closed the door behind him. How late was it anyway?
Some...thing? The dragon winced a little before heading further inside. He left the ice pack on an end table next to the head of the bed, then switched on the lamp sitting there. "Don't worry about it; it's just for tonight. It's kinda large like this so we can accommodate just about anyone and whatever possessions they're carrying with them." He turned back to Tunda. "If you want, I can go back to the shop tomorrow and pick up any of your things you left behind."

Tunda blinks at the response, then gives a bit of a shy smile. "I... I don't own anything other than the clothes I'm wearing..." He mumbles, looking back down at his feet. He was really going to start feeling bad if the other kept offering him things. He was, was being the operative word, a slave. Slaves aren't supposed to be treated like normal people, they were possessions, plain and simple. Something for their owner to use and abuse as they saw fit. He was still trying to get used to the fact that the other didn't want or need a slave, nor did he know the first thing about owning one.

"Oh... I figured you might have something..." he muttered, averting his gaze. He had felt the need to ask out of politeness. Offering was the least he could do for taking him just like that. He frowned slightly; he'd done the right thing... right?
No sense doubting himself now... He could not take it back and he was not about to. He just had to figure out a way to make Tunda more comfortable, and not just by healing his leg.
"Come on... let's get you propped up in bed so you can rest." Perturbed, his tail swished as he stepped around the bed to arrange the pillows, so that Tunda would have some elevation for his knee.

Tunda blinks, hobbling forward with the crutches and stopping near the bed. He was more used to sleeping on the floor or the foot of the bed, in all honesty, than actually being able to use the pillows or even sleep under the covers. He fidgets slightly, chewing on his lower lip in vexation. "Ah... O... Okay."

Mel frowned, watching Tunda pensively. He was going to need help... The most excellent news was now that he was a dragon he could just pick Tunda up. How cool was that? So he did just that, sweeping him off his feet more awkwardly than he would ever care to admit, but hopefully less painful than Tunda could managed had he tried to climb in by himself. The crutches clattered to the floor as Mel paused and considered just how to set him down. "I suppose I should have just done this before..." he laughed faintly before leaning with one knee on the bed and setting Tunda against the pillows.

When Mel had picked Tunda up, it had indeed startled the former slave. His arms had automatically locked themselves around Mel's neck the moment he had been scooped up. Blinking rather rapidly, he releases his grip rather quickly the moment he felt the bed underneath him. He hoped the other didn't look at his face, for if Mel did, he'd see the other's face a much darker color than it had been earlier. He simply lay there rather awkwardly, as if afraid to move or say anything about what had happened.

Mel was doing a fine job of trying to ignore the ridiculous awkwardness of this whole situation. The darkness spreading across Tunda's face was most likely mirrored in his own as he frowned (still frowning, amid in a set, determined expression) down at the other, hands at his hips. "How are the pillows? I can move them." Then, remembering the crutches, he scooped them up off the floor and eyed the bed, which was more than wide enough, before setting them beside Tunda.

Tunda mentally shook himself before swallowing briefly, forcing his throat to clear up so he could actually speak. "I... In all honesty... The pillows m-might end up on the f-floor... Being in the situation I was in... I wasn't allowed creature comforts like p-pillows and blankets..." Not unless I was performing other tasks at the same time, that is... He thought to himself, eyes flicking to the crutches at his side.

"Well... whatever's most comfortable for you. I'm not going to force you to do anything you're uncomfortable with." He sighed, "Even if that means you feel more comfortable on the floor. I know it's going to be difficult to adjust. Just... make sure you ice the knee."

Tunda blinks at what the other said, then nods slowly. Since he could tell that Mel didn't like the idea of him sleeping on the floor, he'd do his best to deal with actually sleeping on the bed. He knew it was going to be hard for him to adjust, but he was willing to make the effort. "O-Okay." He says softly, looking up at Mel for a moment.
