Both adults ignored the green child, and there was a moment or two more of feverish struggle before Izzy's hand miraculously pulled free and she flung from the water, gasping for air at first and then giggling happily.
"She got me!"
The lifeguard left, mumbling something, and Henri just held the girl to him.
"Don't do that, Iizzy. Daddy thought you were hurt."
"Oh."

She was not dead? Huh. Well, that was that mystery solved. "Thee wath just playing dead!" Yeesha hollered over her shoulder to her guardian, who had started to join the adult trying to pry Izzy off the bottom of the wading pool. "Thee just got thtuck! Ith okay!" She gave him a reassuring wave before turning her attention back to Izzy. Her guardian wouldn't come over once he knew that everything was alright. Too much commotion. "I did get you! But you can't jutht die! Ith not fun!"

So Izzy looked back to Yeesha. "Oh," she repeated, "Otay." So she wasn't supposed to die? But what did you do when an alligator got you? Maybe flail a bit. She'd try that next time. Henri put the girl down and moved to sit on his chair again. Alright. He was going to keep a better eye on her now...

"Bye Mithter adult." Yeesha gave Izzy's guardian a small wave, before turning her attention back to the chiton. Adults were always so worried about things. If there was no blood or no serious injuries then they didn't need to come running like someone was dying. It made everybody all stressed out, and Yeesha didn't like being stressed. The only time she was stressed was when she feared she would get in trouble for whatever had caused the adults to come running. This adult seemed pretty calm about the whole thing though, so Yeesha could acknowledge him.
"But you don't need to die. You can jutht flail around a bit or thomething." She paused to give the water around her a little splash. "Tho... what do you want to do now?"

Izzy plopped down in the water, sitting cross-legged. Hm. What was there to play here? Not much, really, aside from splash fights or tag. And there were so many kids! They were sure to yell and be mean if they got wet or bumped-into.

Hmm... Yeesha's expression turned thoughtful. She only really knew one game to play in the water, and that was Lake Monster. The alligator girl would have been game to get Izzy to play the Lake Monster this round, but she didn't want to get in trouble. Her adult probably wouldn't be too happy if one of them faked death again. "Well... what about thplathing? Or tag? Or... we could play thome other game that you like. What gameth do you play?"

"I pway...baw'w," Izzy nodded, "An'...an' tag, but noddin he'w." She motioned to the children around, one of which had taken to squeezing her mantle. It was squishy, and she liked it herself, so she ignored it.

So she played ball (or something that sounded like ball) and tag, but she wouldn't play tag with all of these kids. Yeesha would have played anyways, since she didn't really care if she knocked people over. But Izzy was probably one of those really nice people who didn't like hurting people if she didn't have to, so Yeesha would be nice too. It would make her look better to Jasper anyways. "Well... do we have a ball or something? We could play over there tho we don't knock over peoples."

Izzy looked around. Well, there was the kid that had almost tripped her, but she was big and scary and would probably hit them or yell. Daddy hadn't brought a ball, she knew that much.
"No?"

"Huh." Yeesha hadn't brought a ball either. Yellow eyes scanned the wading pool for a moment, before she spotted a lone beach ball floating towards them. A quick look around confirmed that nobody was out looking for it, and that meant it was free game. "That one!" She made a grab for it, and then hit it with her tail towards Izzy. "Now we play ball!" Yeesha grinned broadly. She'd give the ball back once they were finished. Nobody needed it anyways.

Izzy nodded and sloshed out of the water, pulling herself up with those eerily strong hands. She turned back then, taking the ball from Yeesha and offering to help her from the pool before wandering off toward the rubberized playground where they could play without kids getting hurt.

Yeesha took the hand and made her way out of the water. Normally she would have been quite hesitant to get out of it, but Izzy was promising to play with her. Besides, she really wasn't supposed to be all wet like this. Jasper would be happy if she dried off before she had to go back in his car. It was his own fault though, for not thinking ahead. Jasper should know better than to let her go anywhere with water and not bring her bathing suit. He would have to pay the price with wet seats.
The alligator girl gave her pants and her shirt a squeeze before trotting after Izzy. "I'm open!" She waved her hands up in the air, tail also at the ready. It was time to play ball!

Huh! Izzy heard that on Daddy's programme with the big orange ball. Hm! When they said that they got the ball,so Izzy, logically, threw the ball at Yeesha. It was partially deflated and so flew kind of like a plastic bag might.

... Darn this ball sucked. Yeesha was forced to make a lunge for the ball, swatting upwards with her hand. She had to find a way to pass it to Izzy! With a grunt, she turned and swung her tail at it, hoping that would send it in the right direction. That, or it was going to pop the ball, and some poor kid was going to go home with a deflated ball. Oh well. At least it wasn't going to be Yeesha's deflated ball. "Catch Iddy!"

Izzy giggled and reached up as the ball came...vaguely back to her. A little to the right, but it was there! She ran after it and leaped up, landing on her back plates and rolling over to throw at Yeesha. My, my, she really was a strong little girl!
