There are a lot of people though that are claiming to be Christians and aren't. I don't know if that's something we can fix or not, that is their own Christian journey that they are working though. What we, true Christians, have to do is reach out to the people that are hurt by the hippocrites. By showing Christ's love through us, we can reach them no matter what the true non-Christians do. That is the point of being Christians, to share the message with others.
"It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice." -Philippians 1:15-18
We can't "fix" the fact that some people claim to be Christians and don't live according to His ways, but if they are preaching the gospel, we should be glad that it is being preached even if we don't always agree with their behavior. :]
Also-- a lot of people seem to think that if you say what you believe is the truth, you're shoving it down their throats. It's true that there are some very aggressive people out there--somehow it's the "christian" that is always secured for television interviews--but Americans especially are really touchy about religion and will claim that a Christian talking about Jesus or church openly is narrow-minded and shoving their believes down their throats.
In short, this problem won't be "solved" because hard-hearted people will always take offense to the gospel. However, I do agree that the problem can be helped if more Christians loved more openly than they bickered.
