Watching Padma as she helped him take the mudd from around his lower legs, he became amused. Amused over something as simple as the muddy flakes being swept away from him. He began to smile, and it only turned into a light chuckle. He could get amused by the simplest things. It really was amazing..
Looking from his hooves to the mare next to him. He only came to see her markings more clearly now. He was rather amused and intrigued by them. He always thought that others markings and coloration were more interesting then his. Even if they would think the opposite of him. Turning his attention back to his hooves, they were basically all clean now! It was like a golden surprise! It made him want to run around in the mud again, but he knew the mare would not be pleased. Especially after all the hard work of getting it off.
"Thanks!" He mentioned, with a smiling face of glee!
Wonder what else this day would bring..

Padma was focused enough on her task that she didn't notice the stallion examining her own markings. That is... she didn't notice much. She couldn't help but glance quickly to his face between sweeping leaves around. He had such beautiful silver eyes. She flushed a little with self-consciousness when she realized he was looking at the markings on her feet but kept her head down so he wouldn't be able to see.
He didn't mind the eyes on your face, so why would he mind the patterns on your feet? she asked herself. Though she had no reason to be so flustered she couldn't help it in the presence of a cute stallion who was showing interest towards her. He had such beautiful wings, too. If I also had wings then I could join him in flying through the sky. The rain wouldn't matter if we could fly above the clouds. She stopped working at the mud and let the wave of jealousy wash over her. What had Ame done to deserve such a gift as flight? What had anyone?
That was when his "Thanks" drew back her attention. She had finished, hadn't she? She straightened back up and became aware of her surroundings once more.
"It isn't raining anymore," she observed. Droplets still fell from the wet leaves but no new rain was falling. It was still dim and cloudy... but not raining.
She hesitated for a moment, as if steeling herself for what she was about to do next.
Then she smiled. "Ame, we should do something together. Now. Want to?"

Hearing that it wasn't raining. Ame began to look around. He hadn't noticed that the rain had stopped. I suppose he was to drawn in by the mare around him. But that was alright, nothing wrong with being drawn in by a pretty mare. He just smiled as he looked at all the falling droplets from the trees. It amused him, just like almost everything else.
His attention being directed back towards Padma. She spoke of them doing something together. The first thing that came to mind was them playing a game. Ame was to naive to think of anything romantic with a mare. No matter how beautiful she was, the thought of romance wouldn't cross his mind. But he didn't think that Padma would hurt him in any way either. So, he would willingly go to "do something" with her. Why not?
"Sure! What do you wanna do?" He asked.
He became excited with the thought that they might do something fun. Games the only thing in thought though. Haha. How cute?

Padma's smile grew more assured when he agreed. A bit of smugness filled her as well. It had worked! Though she had yet to work out exactly what it was that she wanted with this stallion she figured that this was a good first step. She had thought and half hoped that he might suggest something for them to do. When he didn't that left her to think of what would be interesting.
Or maybe it wasn't something "interesting" she wanted... maybe it was something else...
Where did mares go when they wanted to enjoy their time with a cute stallion? It made her wish she had talked this over with her mother. Her mother loved nothing more than giving out advice to her children. But I didn't talk to her about it so I'll just have to think of something myself. Something like...
"There is a waterfall pretty close to here. I haven't ever seen it in autumn. Do you want to go?" That wasn't entirely the truth. She had gone to the waterfall with her mother a few weeks ago but the trees hadn't been in proper autumn colors then. They'd probably be much prettier now. Prettier and maybe... maybe a little romantic?

Ame waited for what Padma might suggest them to do. He wasn't sure she'd suggest a game. But either way, he would surely enjoy the time spent with her. Wouldn't he? Sure he would! Seeing that he was about to speak, the mention of a near by waterfall came up. That wasn't a game, but he'd surely go. And the more he thought about it.. The more he suddenly became thirsty.. Padma may be thinking something completely different.. But Ame wasn't on her thinking level..
"Sure! I am starting to get kinda thirsty.." He chuckled.
But other then suddenly becoming thirsty. He had never been to a waterfall before. And the autumn leaves would surely make it a sight to see. He may find the sight nice to see, but he would think nothing other then that. And no matte how many hints Padma would throw at him about anything.. They'd surely just fly right over his head. Haha.. No lie there.

Thirsty? He wants to go to a waterfall because... he's thirsty? Padma didn't understand the stallion. He seemed... a little oblivious. But maybe that could be an advantage, she thought. She could find some way to make it into one. She was certain of it.
Stepping away from Ame, she walked out from under the tree that they had been sheltering under. She was careful to watch where she stepped to avoid the same mud that had clung to her companion. She had no intention of wasting more time getting mud off anyone, let alone her. "The waterfall is this way."
She lifted her head high and with an artful flick of her mane turned it away from him. She tried to put some sway into her step as she began to lead the way. A mare had to use what she had if she wanted to get the attention of a cute stallion, or so Padma thought.

He watched Padma, waiting for her begin her way towards the waterfall. As she stepped out of under the tree they were being sheltered by, he followed. He probably had been to a waterfall yet, and even if he did.. He probably wouldn't remember. Watching where he stepped some, he didn't want to get to dirty again. Padma did, pretty much, clean him up. And he was sure she probably didn't want to do it again.. Hearing her speak, he looked over to her. Apparently, they were close to their destination!
"Okay!" He smiled.
As he paid more attention to the mare.. She suddenly seemed to be acting strange, and walking funny? She didn't seem to be acting this way before.. Or was she? He couldn't even remember. Was this even something normal mares did? Ame had met a couple of mares.. or fillies before. He didn't remember them acting like that before.. Maybe it was just him..? Who knows! All he knew was that he was going to a waterfall.. Where he could get something to drink! I bet it'll be pretty!, was the only think that crossed his mind. Even while looking at Padma.

He must be impressed with me by now. Padma was full of smugness as she walked in front of the stallion. She had carefully studied the most beautiful mares she had met and had learned their tricks. She even practiced them from time to time on her own. Now was the first time she was truly getting to put them into practice... but it couldn't be that hard. Certainly he'd be utterly captivated by her femininity. She looked back with a small coy smile on her face...
A smile that creased into a small irritated frown. He still had that spacey smile on his face. Why didn't he look any different? It was as if he wasn't affected at all. "What are you thinking about?" she asked. She tried to keep her voice sweet and even but an edge still managed to creep into it. She was trying her hardest to get attention. Why was nothing working?
They were almost to the waterfall but she wanted to hear his explanation for his odd behavior before they got there.

Ame wasn't paying attention to anything different Padma was doing. He was to busy thinking about the waterfall they were headed for. And even if he did notice, he probably wouldn't think anything of it. Ame had never encountered any kind of friendship that was platonic. Sure he has thought that some stallions and mares were pretty in various way, but that was the only thing his mind lead to. His mind couldn't let him see beyond that. And there for, thought of others as nothing more then just friends. If someone wanted his attention in a more romantic kind of way... They would surely have to try very hard for him to understand what they wanted..
Hearing the voice of his guide, his attention quickly shifted to her. He was surely not thinking about what she wanted him to be thinking about. She surely wouldn't be pleased with the thoughts roaming his mind.
"Umm, the waterfall! I'm sure it'll be a beautiful place to sit and relax." Ame nodded, as small droplets of water ran down his face from his mane.
Ame never really thought of love.. Unless he was thinking of his family. And never thought of "like" in any sort of romantic way. Ame was probably one of the least romantic stallions you could find. Padma is surely going to have her hands full with this situation.

And just like that they were at the waterfall. Her damp mane was made yet more damper as the mist rising up from the waterfall clung to it. One long strand of her hair clung to the side of her face and Padma gave it a small and irritated shake to dislodge it. The waterfall before them was beautiful.... but she couldn't appreciate it in the mood she was in now.
What's wrong with him? Doesn't he like mares? Her mother had explained to her once that some stallions liked the company of other stallions better and the same with mares but she had never met one like that. Could he be one? Or was he really just that oblivious? She couldn't tell and that filled her with an anguished sort of frustration. Was she just wasting her time?
It was time to get less subtle. She turned herself around and planted herself squarely in front of Ame. She turned her head down so that she was staring deeply into his eyes. "Ame...." She blinked the water droplets from her eyelashes, a calculated move that she knew to be an alluring one. "Do you think the color of the waterfall matches my eyes?"
If he still didn't understand the meaning of that... then she might have to get dramatic.

Finally, they had arrived at the waterfall. It was quite beautiful, and he was amazed at the sight. He had never seen a waterfall before, so, he was quite amused. So amused, he actually forgot that he was a bit thirsty. But the mist lingering around the place, sure left nice on his pelt.. That, however, was something that should've been far from his mind.. With such a sight in front of him, he could possibly forget he had company with him.. What a shame that would be..
With such attention focused on the waterfall.. Ame almost jumped as Padma planted herself right in front of him. Staring deeply at him. He tilted his head a little with confusion. Why was she staring at him exactly? Did he have something on his face? He listened as his name was said.. Not expecting such a question like that. He looked at the waterfall.. Then back at Pada.. Looking deep into her eyes.. He took another look at the waterfall, and back at her. He was quite surprised..
"Wow! Now that you mention it.. It kinda does! :D" He smiled and let out a little chuckle.

Padma's heart skipped a beat. Had he... had he actually responded to something? A surprised smile broke out across her face, one far more honest than the calculated alluring looks she had been giving him until now. "Do you really mean it?" she asked with her smile still firmly in place.
Maybe... maybe he wasn't as thick-headed as he seemed! Maybe he did really think she was pretty, and not just an interesting curiosity! Maybe he would be interested in something a little more than friendship...
Ever since she had found out that both her siblings had "significant others," Padma had been torn apart by jealousy. Why did they deserve to have love and fun in their life when she didn't? Ame was the first stallion she had met since that realization and she didn't like to think she was just throwing herself at him...
But he would be quite the catch. Silver, gold, and winged. All she could ever want in a stallion, right? If only he caught on to things a little faster... But that was a small improvement that needed to be made. He could be perfect! He could be everything she wanted! "You should be my boyfriend," she said before she even realized she was talking.
With the roar of the waterfall behind her, Padma suddenly realized what it was that had come out of her mouth. She gave a startled and mortified gasp but no other words could come out of her choked throat. Out of all the thoughts she could have vocalized... why did it have to be that one?

He noticed a sudden smile on Padma's face.. He had to have said something right. She was smiling, that could only mean something good, right? But with her suddenly questioning his answer.. He didn't know what to think. Was he not that believable? Or was he just someone you couldn't take seriously? Either way, he was telling the truth.. But in a sense that was probably a bit more obvious then Padma would have liked..
"Well yeah! They're both blue, aren't they?"
Ame didn't know if he should be confused, or happy.. Having company was always a good thing. But he was suddenly beginning to get a weird feeling hanging about this pretty mare. Not a bad weird feeling.. More like a suspenseful kind of weird feeling. He didn't seem to know what to expect from her at this moment. Beginning to lose focus, he heard something. It was Padma! She said something.. Something he had never heard of before. B-boyfriend.. What's that?
Ame had never heard a term like that used before. He hadn't met many others. So that never really seemed to pop into any conversation.. And he had never heard his parents say it.. But then again.. She could just be meaning it as a friend.. Ame had made a few friends before. And he is a boy? Is that was she was talking about. He was beginning to get overwhelmed with thoughts. But it surely had to mean that! A friend that is a boy! I GET IT!
Ame smiled~ "Of course I'd be your friend.. That is a boy?" He said the last part as if questioning what he was saying. Good thing to..

"Ooooooh...." An exclamation as tense and hot as steam hissing from a spout came from Padma at Ame's reaction. "You... you don't understand anything!" The roar of the waterfall seemed to fill her ears, punctuated by the throbbing of her own heartbeat. How could he not know what she was talking about? How could it be possible that he just... didn't get it?
He probably did. He probably understood perfectly and was just pretending like he wasn't... to reject her.
A sort of despairing frustration put a quiver in her legs. No, she didn't really know this male. Yes, she had thrown herself at him without knowing anything more than his name and pretty looks. But... she had allowed herself to hope... and now...
"Nevermind." She looked away from him, towards the beautiful scene of the waterfall behind her. Had it suddenly gotten mistier? For some reason it was getting harder for Padma to see. "Just nevermind about everything." The shaking in her legs was matched by the shaking in her voice.
This is stupid. I don't need a boyfriend. Who cares? She tried to convince herself but her thoughts still rang false. She was lonely. Why did everyone have to reject her when she was just so lonely?

You know, Padma was right.. Ame didn't understand ANYTHING. He only looked at things the obvious way. He could never seem past things that could mean something more. What is she talking about? Was the only thing that popped into him head. He became a bit saddened.. As she seemed disappointed in something. He had no idea what! He only told her what he saw, and what made sense. I suppose that just wasn't what she wanted to hear.. Now was it? But he wouldn't catch onto that unless it was made completely obvious. As in, told him straight forward kind of way.. And even then, he could probably take it in a different direction. As he did the whole "boyfriend" thing. But that was only because he had never really heard the term before.. But even if she admitted to liking him. He'd only do the same. Meaning, as friends sort of like.. Yeeaah..
Ame looked around, trying to find as to why she seemed to have gotten so upset all of a sudden. Maybe it was because he really had no idea. Or maybe he was hoping it didn't have to deal with him. He didn't like others to have any sort of disappointing feelings toward him. It made him feel bad. As to rejection, Ame, probably doesn't even know such a word either. He had never been in such a situation were rejection had ever come up. As to liking someone, in a more then friends, sorta way. So, surely, anything Padma was trying was going to fly straight over his head. And surely she didn't know him well enough to know that he was like that. I suppose his looks got the best of her.. However.. Ame had to know what was wrong..
"But, but.. I wanna know. What's wrong?" He said, a bit pleading. His eyes beginning to squint a little.. As the fog drew a bit thicker.
