Lovett smiled and pulled the basket close tenderly pulling the cover back over the empty clams. She knew she wanted to get them someplace safe right away, the tree. She and Abel would be able to best guard them there from the earth and sky. She hefted the basket in her jaws and grinned at Abel before slipping out with muffled thanks.
Lovett was incredibly eager to give her pups into the hard protective shell of the clams. From there she knew all she would need was patience, infinite patience.
