Taneko came walking down the small path. Until now, she hadn't really seen anything... but she was still alert, the smallest sound made her jump... AND gain a disbelieving look from Ari.

"If you keep jumping around like that, you'll scare away all the sssssspiiiiiiiddderrrrrsssss!" the pink sprite said.

"Hey, I'm SORRY if I don't want to be ambushed by those... icky things... AGAIN!"

"Fine, fine... I get it..."

The walked in silence again for a while. Taneko knuckles were turning white from grabbing the net so hard. "Why am I so scared... I mean... I got away from the other spider before... and these are supposedly MUCH smaller... yeah... nothing to be scared of" she tried to convince herself, her internal battle was visible on her face and Ari just rolled her eyes at her before she turned back to scouting for spiders. Taneko's train of thoughs were broken by the tiny sprite's sudden

"whats that?"

"Whats what?"

"That yellow dot over by the greenhouse? The dot that is moving towards us right now?" Ari replied, not sounding scared at ALL.

Taneko's first impulse was to turn around on the spot and run away, but she braced herself, ready to face what was coming, reminding herself over and over again that she was doing this for all the innocent people and animals here in the park...

The spider waved its chelicerae, although it was too far away for Taneko and Ari to see that yet. Curious, it headed towards them to investigate. Was this some sort of super-bug that it had never seen?

Skittering rapidly, the miniature arachnid came straight toward them.

"Ohhh!! lookie lookie!" Ari said "Spider!"

Taneko gulped "Yeah, I sorta noticed... and it's kinda comming right towards us"

"Let's catch that SPIDER!" Ari said crawling out og Taneko's pocket and running towards the yellow spider

"Ari what are yo... ARI WOULD YOU GET BACK HERE RIGHT THIS SECOND" Taneko shouted running after the tiny pink sprite that could move incredibly fast for such short legs. When Taneko finally caught up with Ari, it would be too late to turn back.

"You're so slow" Ari said

"We'll talk about this later, right now I think we have a spider to catch... but don't you DARE do that EVER again"

As the sprite ran straight for it, the spider stopped. 'OhMyGodz, what if that thing is tryin' to eat me??!!one?' it thought, looking around frantcially. Not knowing what else to do, it scrambled under a nearby leaf and cowered there.

Taneko stopped and stared. Where did the spider go?

"THERE! THERE!" the pink sprite shouted, pointing to what looked like nothing more than a bunch of leaves, but true enough, there Neko could see the distinctive yellow color that gave the spiders away.

"What do you think we should do now?"

"Well... OBVIOUSLY we'll catch it! It's in a trap, can't you see? It can't see us, be we know where it is!"

"but... spiders can sense movement you know..." Taneko pointed out

"Coward!" the sprite hmpf'd

Rolling her eyes, Taneko gave in, once again... this was becoming a very bad habit!

"Fine, but it it starts coming towards us, we run, and thats it! understood?!" the pink sprite just nodded

Taking a deep breath, Taneko, with the net in her hand, advanced towards the spiders hideout. Moving slowly, she raised the net. This was it.

(( xd I am trying to catch it!! Oh well...))

The net raced towards where the spider was and hit the ground with a soft thud. Taneko had closed her eyes while trying to catch the spider, and therefore hadn't seen if she had actually caught it or not.

"Did we catch it!?!"

((THERE!!! Is that better?! xd ))

((YES! xd Heehee))

Sad yellow eyes peered up at Taneko and Ari as the spider waved its legs around under the net, getting more tangled up as it did. Or rather, they would have looked sad if spider faces could convey emotions. Soon the spider resigned itself to being caught. By which I mean it got itself so thoroughly tangled that it was impossible for it to struggle any further.

((YAY!!! WE BEAT THE EBIL-SPIDER-SPAWN!!!! YAYAYAY!! God I love that word... it cracked me up xd ))

"EEEEEEEKK!!! WE CAUGHT IT!! YA YA YA!!" Ari was jumping up and down and runing around in circels and doing all sorts of other weird things that there doess't seem to be any words for. Taneko on the other hand, was just standing there looking at the spider, who was looking back at her.

"riiiight... Well... let's get this thing back to the main office thingy and then figure out where we want to go from there."

"ooh... can I decide where we go?!?!!"

"Sure, yeah, whatever" Taneko just replied, extremely pre-occupied with the yellow ebil-spider-spawn that was now seemingly done trashing around in the net.

Song led Sherrinda up the hill toward the South Arbor Greenhouse, carefully side-stepping an ostentatious pile of green and brown goo with some crunchy-bits sticking out at odd angles.

Pulling open the door, Song was momentarily shrouded in a puff of unseasonable warm air. She stopped at the first table, one right beside the window-wall, and bent over a small pot full of small, round cactus buttons.

"Well, here it is...this is your plant, Peyote. Since your plant is potted here, you are welcome inside this greenhouse anytime. Just make sure you remember to water it regularly...it doesn't rain in here!"

Sherrinda looked all about the greenhouse, wondering how in the world it managed to be so warm in here. But there was so much magic around these gardens already, why should a little more surprise her?

Leaning over the plant with a smile, Sherrinda practically got nose to nose with the tiny cactus buttons.

"Hey! Careful! Not so close!" came a tiny voice as a sprite jumped out from among the cacti and shooed Sherrinda away.

Sherrinda's grin only broadened, and as she leaned back she reached for the sprite with one hand and plucked the little being up into the air.

"Oi! Watch it! Put me down!"

The sprite struggled for a moment, then glared at Sherrinda, who was still grinning like a fool as she regarded Peyote. "Oh, no...don't tell me you're my guardian?"

Peyote gave a dramatic sigh, even as Sherrinda nodded eagerly.

"I should have known...NOW PUT ME DOWN!"

And thus began the start of a beautiful relationship.

Song gave a hearty chuckle as Sherrinda's plant berated her.

"Well, it looks like you two are going to get along fine...I'm thinking about doing a little cook-out party for all of the parents sometime soon. It would be great if you guys can make it! Anyway, I have to head back to the office...have some paperwork to catch up on. If there's anything you need, just find me or Natasha. See you!"

Song waggled her fingers at the pair, popping out the glass door and heading back down the trail.

((Yay, all met up!))

((Continued from Ian's interview....))

Krys was out to take Mr. Ian Drayton to meet his new plant Cannabis. After leaving the entrance and the offices, they stepped onto the path. The woman told Ian about the rules of the Abortoreum while they walked, and about some of the... finer points to remember.

"Now, remember where we are going. You have free reign around the grounds, but it is always better to know where your plant is located. And stick to the trails as much as possible. We'll be going to the Greenhouse, so the trail does go directly there. If you do step off the trail, all we ask is that you are careful where you step. Plants are everywhere, and very precious to us. Remember, most of the plants here have caretakers themselves."

They reached a fork in the trail, and tool the left to go back around.

"Under no circumstances do you uproot or move your plant unless you've talked with the tech's, and only in an emergency would that be done. And due to the special circumstances of your plant, you cannot take any of the leaves off the grounds." Here, Krys turned around and looked up at Ian. She was small, but the stance she took underlined that if he broke that rule, he'll have problems. "We only have such an illegal sprout because we've gotten permission from the government, and even then under the conditions that it stays here and is not taken out."

Ian nodded as the directions were given, and peered idly at the other plants they passed. This place was well set up, and taken excellent care of. There was very little, if anything, the plants around him seemed to be wanting for. Everywhere he looked - greens, reds, purples, pinks, blues - all shades of the rainbow contained in one facility! It was remarkable to him, and he said as much to himself as he committed to memory the place to which he was headed. His eyes roved the path, and took in everything. For the most part, Ian didn't talk - he observed. And this place was a feast for the eyes.

"I'd never think of 'smoking' my plant." he said quietly, and nodded at the other directions.

Express consent from the government? Wow. Quite a special little thing, wasn't it? Ian gave no indication that he was any sort of trouble-maker. He looked trustworthy, honest, and appeared more than a little genuinely interested in the experiment as it was presented.
