Mariel looked at Ligeia with a smile, "That still makes you a hero. Your just a..." Mariel thought for a moment, trying to remember what it was called...secret basement uy...no no that wasnt it...Medic...no he didnt heal..Mariel frowned at herself. She couldnt remember what it was called, those superheroes that stayed behind sometimes...like Oracle or Nick Fury....Luna had allowed Mariel to raid her childhood comic books. Though actually Ligeia did get out and see things so maybe it wasnt the same. Maybe he was just being modest....Mariel wondered what kind of superhero she would be. She couldnt picture herself at the forefront of battle, well actually thats a lie, she could, but she was pretty sure she wouldnt really do that. Maybe she would be like Ligeia, and scout for kids to make into superheroes. Mariel hoped that she would be sent out to gather information, she smiled at the thought, after all it was her goal to know everything, so if she was the scout then she would know everything first for sure! She realised suddenly that she had left her scentence hanging in the air before she had dozed off in her superhero dreams and so tried to finish it.
"Your the superhero that stays home to make sure its safe to come back. But its okay, I know your not supposed to say your a hero, your secrets safe with me, I wont tell." Mariel smiled and looked at Vorel as Ligeia said that he was the only one of his kind. How lonley for him! Mariels mind was quickly trying to figure out a way to solve this. But she didnt know much about Dragons. But then again Vorel didnt look lonely...Vorel nodded and assuredmariel that they were both royalty. She smiled and looked at them both with huge bright eyes. This was definately a special day!
Then her stomach began to growl. Mariel looked back at the door to the kitchen and remembered the massive amounts of food Luna had cooked.
"Are you guys hungry? What do dragons eat? Fish? Meat?" Really that was mostly what they had at the moment so Mariel was hoping that Vorel ate fish/beef. She giggled at the thought of the dragon eating the soup from an oversized bowl. They usually fed the dogs with meduim sized tubs since the dogs usually got all the leftovers...but Luna had definately made enough for a dragon! She always made too much anyway....right? PLus Mariel kind of wanted to be able to say that she had eaten with royalty. OH if they liked the food she could tell Luna that it was fit for a king! Luna would like that!
"We have food in the kitchen...tons of it!"
Ebony had by now made his way to the owl boy and began to nuzzle the boys hand. He wanted a scratch and his girl was...occupied with the big thing. Ebony had to admit he was a little jealous, that was HIS girl nuzzling the big thing....Of course he was sure that when the boy left the big thing would too, but for the moment he was stil jealous.

Ligeia's eyes widened a little and then he gave her a bright smile, "I like the sound of that, I don't mind being the one who stays home to take care of things and take care of everyone else." He told Mariel in a happy manner, wings giving a little flutter of delight, "Ah, thank you." He wondered what Mariel and Vorel were talking about that made her think she had to keep it secret.
Vorel perked up at the thought of food, tail wagging him in a manner that made the owl give a laugh.
"Vorel will eat just about anything, he prepares his food in a special manner though." Ligeia said then turned to look at the dog that was nuzzling against his hand. He smiled as he started to pet the dog in an affectionate manner, "Your a sweet dog aren't you Ebony? You just wanted to protect your family before, that's very brave."
He turned to look over at Mariel, "Your mother told me, do we want to get dinner prepared and then come eat out where with Vorel and Ebony?"

Mariel wondered what Ligeia meant when he said that Vorel prepared his food in a strange way...maybe the dragon liked more spices...maybe she should cut a lemon...She giggled at how Vorel wagged his tail, he was just like a large puppy! Mariel wondered what her dragon would be like, maybe they would make ebony into a dragon? Mariel didnt think that would be what happened, Luna liked Ebony as a dog....but she was still wondering at what she would get.
"The food is in all da pots! Its all ready! The albondigas are still warm, cause they were boileded, and the ceviche is cold. We can bring both out!" Mariel gave Vorel one more afectionate rub and a pat before starting to head for the door. In the kitchen there were two large pots, still sitting on the stove where the Albondigas (meatball soup) was and mariel opened the fridge to grab the large cold container of Ceviche. Luna always cooked massive amounts of food but even to Mariel this was ridiculous..well I'm glad a dragon is here, Vorel will be VERY usefull today! Mariel thought to herself. Luna had used the biggest pots in the house to cook these dishes, and she was sure that a family of four could eat 3 square meals for a week with this food.
Mariel saw Ligeia following her into the kitchen and pointed at the soup pots. She was too small to carry the pots, especially when they were full, but Ligeia might be able to carry them, even if they might be a little heavy. Mariel suddenly got an idea, she put down the large Ceviche bowl and began digging in the cabinets. After sending pots and pans flying in all directions she came away with two large mixing bowls.
"If you cant carry the pot we can use these," She held up one, "For Vorel," She held up the other, "For Ebony and Kuka." Mariel smiled at her compromise. She knew that her and Ligeia might eat one or two bowls but of course to the dragon and the dogs a bowl might be a sip/bite of food. But the pots were to heavy, so she thought the mixing bowls were perfect! And they were light so they wouldnt be THAT heavy when they were full...even though they would be an armfull.
Ebony liked the boy, he had gotten a scratch from him and the boy had called him a good dog...well maybe he hadnt used those words exactly but it was in that general area. Ebony only knew a few human words, none of which the boy had used but he had spoken in a crooning tone and that generally meant he was getting praise or a compliment. He was sad to see the boy go into the house but he did know one of those words. Ebony knew the word food, THAT was a gooooood word. Ebony glanced over to the big thing and saw that it was wagging its tail too! It knew the word food too!! Ebony gave an excited bark, "Food soon!" half wondering if the big thing would understand dog.

The owl followed Mariel inside and watched as she dug around in the cabinets, tossing some pots and pans out of her way before she found her prize of large mixing bowls, "That's a good idea." He said as picked up the pot of meat stew for a moment to test its weight, "It might be easier to transfer some of food to the bowls first."
He looked around and then back to Mariel, "Do you know where a big spoon is that we can use to serve the food?" He asked of Mariel, since he was new to the house and didn't know the placements of things.
Vorel was sitting outside, watching the door in an excited manner. They were going to get food! Even the wolf seemed excited by whatever was being brought out for them. He was drooling a bit already at the thought, his belly giving a little rumble.

Mariel rumaged in a drawer that seemed to have all kinds of spatulas. She found a shallow wooden spoon, a spoon with holes....AH a big deep metal spoon. She handed he spoon to Ligeia and continued to rummage through for a spoon that maybe she could use.She found a spoon with spiky tips, another shallow spoon, plastic this time..but no more deep spoons.... She took the shallow plastic spoon and put it in the Large Ceviche bowl, they would need that later. She then took the shallow wooden spoon and began to help Ligeia fill the bowls.
The shallow spoon helped with getting the meat and potatoes out, but it did nothing for the broth. The broth was one of Mariels favorite part, Luna used this strange spice from jar called Maggie that made food taste amazing!! Mariel did work patiently, trying her best to pile the broth onto the spoon and get as much possible into the bowl. But the spoon didnt hold much so the going was slow. In the end she did fill the bowl and smiled as she put it down on the floor. Mariel looked at Ligeia and at the three bowls, two with Albondigas and one with Ceviche.
"Do we take for Vorel and the doggies first?" Mariel didnt think they could take all three bowls, they were rather large, and she knew for a fact that she could carry only one. She didnt know how strong Ligeia was, but she didnt think balancing a bowl like that on one arm would be a good idea anyway. She looked to Ligeia for guidance, after all he was the superhero.
Ebony began to pace, slowly at first then a little faster, he was excited. He had caught the scent of meat, it was covered in potato and flavored water but it was MEAT!! Ebony always liked the taste of cooked meat, his brother Kuka liked poultry and even caught a bird once. But Ebony liked meat. He let his tounge loll out as he paced around and let out a soft eager whine, willing the people to go faster.

"Yeah, it would be easiest to take them their food first then return to get ours." He said, going to pick up two of the bowls and left the third one for Mariel to carry. He doubted he could get all three of them out back without chancing making a mess of it. He would hate to see any of the delicious food go to waste so better to be safe then sorry, "Thank you for the help Mariel." He said to. She was such a helpful girl, he was very impressed.
Vorel watched the dog as it paced whined, he couldn't help but get excited himself. The wolf's excitement was contagious and the food smelled so good! His tail set to swishing that much faster and he starred at the door as though starring would help to hurry his boy and the one they were babysitting to move faster in bringing dinner.

Mariel smiled at the compliment but didnt fully understand why it was such a big deal. She was supposed to help in the kitchen, it was her job in the house. Luna said everyone had a job and learning the cooking and kitchen duties had been what Luna decided would be Mariels. Luna had said that the older you get the more jobs you get but for now she had only the kitchen. Still it was nice to be praised for it, Maybe cooking wasnt Ligeias religeon like it was Lunas....
Mariel and Luna always spent alot of time in the kitchen, and when Luna was in the kitchen was the best time for Mariel to practice her dancing since she knew Luna wouldnt come out for hours. Mariel had endured many lectures about how sacred cooking was and how it was a religeon and so she assumed that cooking was Lunas religeon...and maybe hers by asosiation...
Mariel still smiled and picked up the bowl, following Ligeia outside, but since he was ahead of her before they got to the door Mariel thoght it fair to warn him about the dogs.
"Becareful when we go out, Ebony and Kuka really like food, they might jump up." Eboy and Kuka tended to jump straight up into the air in front of whomever had their food and it made it pretty hard to maneuver around them sometimes. Ligeia was alot bigger than she was so he might not have as much trouble but EBony and Kuka were still big dogs so it was better to be carefull.
Mariel wondered if Vorel would do that too, he was alot bigger what if he just ate everything!? She didnt think he would eat her...right, but she still didnt know and was a little nervous as they headed outside.
Ebony watched carefully as he saw the humans approaching with the food. The glass doors he knew he could not jump throght but he was still shaking with excitement. He indeed planned tojump as soon as anyone came out of the door, he always did it to try to snatch some early bites, it never worked but he would still try.
Even Kuka was there, standing, ears perked up, waiting for the food to be set down. Both dogs were quiet and tense, this was how they hunted, they waited for the food then sprang for it!

Ligeia gave a nod at her warning, lifting the bowls up as high as he could while still safetly carrying them when they stepped outside. The dogs were both present and looking quite excited for dinner, Vorel was also sitting there looking just as excited which had the owl grinning. He was glad to see that the dogs and Vorel were getting along now, it made him happy, "Alright pretty doggies, give me just a moment to set the bowls down and then you can eat." He told them.
He knelt down and set down first one of the bowls and then the other one, feeding them first so that Mariel could easily bring the bowl she had over to Vorel.
The Frost dragon turned his gaze the way of the bowl that the girl was holding, doing his best not to drool but he was failing. The food smelled really good, like nothing he'd ever tasted before. Also with drool one would be able to see a cloud of cold mist starting to come from his mouth as well.

Mariel was glad to see Ligeia ineed make his way around the ravenous dogs qiute easily. Maybe it was a grown up thing......She waited for both dogs to be busy lapping up and munching on their own bowls before she came out. When she loked at Vorel he looked like one of the dogs, only not so hyper, he was drooling and...smoking?! Mariel could only remember smoke coming out of a mouth in the cartoons when someone ate a chili. Her eyes inmediately arted to the chili tree in the back of the garden, none of the chilis looked missing, but Vorel was smoking. Maybe he needed the food more than Mariel thought! She rushed over and put the large bowl in front of the dragon so that he could eat and be cured of his smokiness! She then wandered back to Ligeia and just HAD to ask.
"Why is Vorel smoking?!" Mariel sounded concerned and watched Vorel carefully.

Ligeia looked over at the dragon then chuckled, "Its a cloud, just watch what he does." The owl said, knowing what his dragon was up to after hanging out with him for so long.
Vorel nudged at the bowl of food before he drew in a deep breath into his lungs. A moment later he released the cold rush of air and the food in his bowl was frozen in an instant. Once it was a block of delicious flavored ice he leaned over and set to eating.
"See, that is how Frost dragon's prepare their food. They like it best when their meals are frozen solid." He explained to Mariel with a smile.

Oh, so he didnt eat a chile, that was good. Still the sight was facinating to Mariel. She wondered if all dragons had weird ways of eating, maybe Vorel was just cool and uber powerfull like that! Mariel oohed as she watched him eat his...welll it was pretty close to ice cream now. Wait...you cant have Ice cream for dinner!! But this was dinner flavored ice cream....Mariel had to think about it for a moment.
"So all he ever eats is Ice cream?!" Mariel was a little shocked at this, "That cant is not good for him" she added as an afterthought. Luna always said dessert first was bad. But Vorel was big and strong... maybe she would use this later to see if Luna would allow her to eat her dessert first too...maybe she would turn into a dragon like Vorel if all she ever ate was ice cream...

Vorel looked over at Mariel, confused for a moment before he picked up the block of food and drew all of it into his mouth to chew. What did she mean ice cream for dinner?
"There is ice cream? Can I have some?" Vorel asked, of his boy, with his mouth full, eyes shining, and his tail wagging.
Ligeia gave a little chuckle, lifting a hand up to cover his mouth, "I don't think she meant real ice cream Vorel." He told him with a smile before he turned to look over at Mariel, "Shall we go and get our dinner while these three eat?"

Mariel was surprised at first. She had been watching Vorel so intently and thinking about ice cream and how Vorel must live off the stuff when Ligeia suddenly brought the thought of food back into her mind.
"oh!" Mariel nodded and began to scurry inside. She suddenly remembered how hungry she was. Ligeia must be hungry too, especially since he was asking for food. She quickly searched the cabinets and found the bowls needed, the regular sized ones. She quickly filled them with the Albondiga soup and inhaled deeply. The scent of meat and potatoes was so delicious, as well as the scent of the broth. mariel loved this soup. She placed the bowls carefully in the counter as she tried to remember which drawer held the silverware. Usually Luna set the table and so Mariel didnt really know exactly where the silverware and napkins were.
She looked all over the place, continually muttering "spoon...spoon...spoon" half hoping that if she said it enough the spoons would jump out of their hiding place and into the bowls where they were currently needed. Finally she opened the right drawer. "SPOON!" She held them up triumphantly like the trophies they were.

Ligeia looked at the two dogs and at Vorel, making sure that they were happy and content with their food before he quickly hurried after Mariel to help her in gathering the food that the two of them would eat. He arrived in the kitchen in time to see her hold up a spoon for him to see, calling out the name of the eating utensil in an excited manner.
He gave a little giggle and then nodded, moving to look in the cabinets to find a pair of bowls their size to use, "Alright, which type of food do you want, Mariel? Or would you like a little of each?" He asked of her, setting the bowls on the counter.

Mariel smiled at Ligeia and pointed to the refridgerator.
"Ceviche!" Mariel had asecret love for seafood. She really didnt know why, or understand that she was part animal, she just knew that fish tasted better than everything else. Granted everything else tasted pretty good too...but fish could beat everything anyday. Ceviche was a dish made with shrimp, fish, crab (And Luna used real crab, she hated the taste of imitation) as well as cilantro, tomato, onion, and lemon. It was all shredded and mixed and doused in lemon. Mariel always thought it was amazing! She woundered what Ligeia would want, he had wings...and he was a superhero....what did superheroes eat?.....
Mariel half wondered what he would choose. Would the winged man go for the meat stew or the fish mix...did it matter...did he even eat?! Mariel absentmindedly found the tostadas (Crunchy tortillas...think tortilla sized chips) and began to munch on one of them. She offered one to Ligeia as he was choosing and wondered if he would like them.
