whole oats? You mean groats (the whole seed/kernel so to speak)? They take a really long time to cook, make sure you read the instructions.

No.. they're flattened, but not the finest of packaged oatmeal. It's also thicker then the regular whole oats. I made some today with coconut, raisins (found them) and a bit of honey. I just boil water and let it soak for a minute and then eat them. I'm so lazy. emo

Okay, so I bought myself a small, wide mouth thermos. Can I say one word:

A W E S O M E.

Last night I put my whole oats, some coconut and raisins in it. This morning I boiled water and put it in and then put it in my bag and went to school. Half hour later, sat down and had them - they weren't as mooshy-watery as I like, but really good. Still warm and much better then the water and oats (because I don't leave them long enough) in the morning. I was very thankful to be able to sit down and eat a nice warm breakfast like that.

Speaking of warmth..
Often I don't have time in the mornings to sit down and enjoy my breakfast; I have to pour my tea in a thermos and take it with me to work/wherever I'm going, but usually by the time I get there, it's gotten lukewarm at best.
What kind of thermos do you use, and where did you buy it?

onicoe: lol

I got my thermos at Canadian Tire. It's a no name brand.

It came with a paper with tips on it, and it said for maximum effect, to heat the thermos up first with hot water, let it sit, then pour it out and then add what you want to it.

If you don't need a thermos, I would recommend a Starbucks mug. I fill mine with hot water at 8am and it's still warm by 2pm. That things crazy.

I'm not able to find the exact mug on their store, so I will take a picture and post that. The thing is - awesome - because the top locks on and I can turn it upside down with no spills. Great for mixing up the water and honey. biggrin

This morning i made a garden omelet with salsa < 3

SOOOOO good!
My photo does not give it any justice!

I put green peppers, tomatoes and onions in the omelet.
Then put some cheese on top while it was in the pan, let it melt.

Put it on a plate, and put salsa on it 3nodding

British Style Flap Jacks! ((NOT pancakes))

Melted Butter - 3/4th cup
Sugar - 3/4th cup
Honey - 1/4th cup
Oats - 4 cups
Raisins or dried fruit of choice - 1/2 cup
1 Egg

A tsp of cinnamon
A tsp of nutmeg
Also, add a little water for lubrication, like 1/4th cup

Mix in a bowl, place on a greased pan, this will fill a 9 inch pan.
Bake at 300 degrees F, for 50 minutes.

I am making some now and will post a photo when they come out!
So yummy!

Are the oats what makes the difference between flapjacks and pancakes??

Do you put your pancakes in the oven? x3

I honestly think it has nothing to do with pancakes, because they dont call pancakes 'flapjacks'

I would compare this recipe, to an....oat/granola bar that you buy in the box.
They come out the same as those, only homemade and cheaper.

Here are mine:
