Colette nodded, taking his hand as well. She saw no harm in it. Nor anythign embaressing about what holding hands might imply, ignorance is bliss afterall. Besides it was nice to hold your friends hand. She held her moms hand... and her brothers hands. So why not Spiro?
She ofcourse had taken every little thing arafel had handed to her and held onto it for dear life. God only knows what might happen to her if she lost one of the objects. For all she knew they might burst into flame the second it touched the ground. So they were all stuffed into a backpack(of which I'm just now mentioning, but she had it before. Honestly.) and secured safely to her back.

The only harm in the innocent gesture was... The contact. Spiro wasn't much for physical contact, as everyone should very well know by now.. But he was getting better. He actually didn't really mind it when Avery or Colette touched him, although he still couldn't be touched by anyone else without at the least flinching.
The boy began his walk forward, onwards in the direction that Colette had told them they needed to go. Alexei stirred at his neckline, crawling up the nape of his neck to nestle comfortably at the top of his head. Spiro was so used to the little guy being there, he seemed to take no notice. Just kept walking. Watched out for puddles... Although he caught one, of course. He wasn't coordinated enough to avoid them all. He didn't mind- his combat boot was still dry on the inside and it was a small puddle. He stopped by the light post, stopping to look towards the girl curiously, "Where now...?" A group of people bustled past them. This area was much more busy than by the house.

Miraculously she didn't get more than her shoe wet from the puddles. The girl frowned in thought. Where next? "Uhm. I think.. down that road.. and YEA. The big building there." she beamed, seeing the top of it.

The boy turned and stood on his toes slightly, glancing towards the building thoughtfully. He probably didn't really need to stand on his toes, and he probably shouldn't have, as his already heavy boots got heavier after being soaked. He missed wearing just socks- but last time he did that his socks got ripped up. Drat. "Okay..." He began his walk onwards, toward the building.. And then he stopped, looking towards a little box on the side of the sidewalk. He kneeled down and reached out a hand to a little black kitten that was settled inside. He still didn't believe animals likes him, but he often felt bad and brought home all kinds of strays and took care of them for awhile before he and Freize found them a home. Oh, and he brought a frog home, but it was still around, oh and... Well, nevermind.
The creature sniffed at his hand before being petted and then scooped up. The boy cradled it in one arm, strategically holding it a good distance away from where Alexei was sleeping.. As he stood up, he spotted some guys grouped up in an alley.. What was going on? He decided it would be best not to stop and see. He remembered Colette now, and turned to show her the cat, "Look..."

"aa!" she gave a startled squeak "Poor thing! It was probably out in the rain too..." she frowned a bit, before moving foreward with a bright smile. Slowly reachign her hand out to see if it would accept her petting. The kitten ofcourse accepted it greatfully, causing Colette's smile to widen as she scratched it behidn the ears "Its so cute!"

"Yeah..." He looked down at the little creature thoughtfully, before deciding it would be another of the many animals he brought home that neither Freize or Arafel knew about. He was good at caring for them in his room, or the huge yard- or even the attic sometimes. Or just one of the many vacant rooms.. He shifted a bit, "It's kind of sad... How nobody wants it..." Spiro pointed out softly as he moved a hand to cautiously scritch under it's chin. It accepted all of the attention, mewing softly whilst beginning to purr. Spiro smiled slightly.

Colette frowned thoughtfuly, nodding a bit "Well. I'd want him!" she gave a firm nod and a smile towards the small creature. That was her job as chosen right? To save everyone. That meant animals too... Right?
She thought so... And for the moment, had completely forgotten about their groceries mission.

The boy shifted his weight from side to side, "Really...?" He wasn't quite sure as to why he asked- after all, he would want the kitten too. He just let it go there, and asked the critter if it wanted to come with them. He didn't get a response, of course. Alexei was the only animal that he could hear. Speaking of Alexei...
The little guy poked his head up from the collar of Spiro's shirt, peering out sleepily- and then his little heart started racing and he ducked back down upon seeing the cat.
Then Spiro looked to Colette, "I'm going to take care of it for a little while... Do you... Well, you probably don't, but... Do you want to, um... Help or something?" He kicked at the ground idly.

Colette gave a light giggle upon noticing hte little mouse's actions. "Of course i'll help-ouf!" Face, meet ground. Ground, face. In the moment the girl had gone to take a step foreward she'd managed to get her feet tangled up in the box. Face connecting with wet pavement. "nnn..." she gave a light noise, pushing herself up wincing a bit. "I...I'm fine!" she smiled, a bit of blood trickling down her lip.

The boy looked at her and managed to do so right as she hit the ground. His eyes widdened slightly and he moved to try and help her up hurriedly.. He eyed the blood and frowned slightly, touching his own lip.. "It... Doesn't... It doesn't hurt? Your lip...? Um..." He was used to being the injured one, so now he had to figure out what to do. "Um... You didn't scrape your knees or anything, right? Or, um..."

"It hurts... Alittle..." she admitted, smiling anyways. "But I..I'm fine!" She was used to being the one worrying. Apparently the two had slipped into the twilight zone somewhere along the line. "We gotta take care of the kitten... and get mom's stuff." she nodded, attempting to change the subject with a smile and the mentioning of somethign other than herself.

"Okay... But we have to take care of it when we get back... Um... Promise?" The halfbreed halfway looked her in the eyes before turning away, "Let's go." He shifted the kitten in his arms, cradling it gently. They arrived at the store moments later, and the child frowned when they wouldn't allow the kitten in. He then decided to sneak the creature in by stashing it beneath his rather baggy shirt. After they got inside he took it back out and then the two began venturing the store. Everything seemed to huge to someone as small as himself. And the store was almost completely empty, so it seemed even bigger. "What's first?"

"O..Okay." She smiled, making an x with her finger across her heart.
Soon they were inside, with a tiny bit of hassle... But she had been fairly oblivious to the whole thing. She peered around the store, grinnin.. It was just like playing grocery store.
Ofcourse that was rather obvious but.. sho cared. "We gotta get a cart!" She nodded, heading over to reach up to the large metal things grunting as she tried to pull it out and foreward. "There..." she huffed, smiling at her acomplisment. "First thing..." She peered at the list "Uhm. Milk!"
