"Ahh, so I'm talking to myself then." She laughed quietly, having no idea how right she was. Jo had thought he wasn't listening, but wasn't aware her words were somewhat of a blurr.

Dropping her gaze to the ground, she shifted uncomfortably. It was awkward laying near him like this, them smell drifting over. She cleared her throat and turned to look back at the birds still circling overhead.

"I have. But no one actually treats their equal like that. And if someone says they do, they are a liar." She stated curtly, leaning down to swipe her tongue over her paw. Maybe it was because she had experienced this sort of thing herself, but Jo was bitter about the whole subject. In fact, her mouth felt sour and odd talking about it. She didn't quite know what brought on her sudden need to bring it up, maybe she missed her cubs. She wasn't sure.

"Lots of people lie. About lots of things."

He blinked at her, a bit bewildered. He'd never met someone that talked as much as her. It didn't annoy him, he just found it a bit hard to follow... He wasn't really used to having in depth conversations with someone. But the fact that she was actually talking to him at all made him... well, quite pleased. Most people ignored him, at best.

"Ah..." He didn't really know what to say. He could lie more, try to be charming... But lying didn't seem the right thing to do right now. Since, she had just pointed out that he was.

"Eeh..." For the first time he looked akward and unsure, ears tilting back slightly.

"Maybe... I guess. Uh.... You're pretty?" That wasn't a lie, at least... It was really the only bit of truth he could think of.

Jo grinned and chuckled lightly. "Well thank you, but that doesn't pertain to the conversation. But it's nice of you to say so."

She glanced in his direction and was upset to see he looked somewhat confused. Maybe he hadn't been the right person for her to talk to about that sort of thing. She could go in search for one of her friends from the Nchi pride in a while and talk to them about this. If she remembered correctly, the girl she had met their went through the same sort of thing.

"I'm sorry." She apologized quickly. "I don't know how to shut up." Jo shook her head, and look back towards the direction she had come.

"I could go now if you want. I must be starting to get annoying."

"No." He didn't quite yell the word, but there was clear panic behind it. Then he blinked, a bit startled by his reaction. He... didn't want the girl to leave. Sure, she talked a lot about things he didn't understand. However, being the first person that had even given him the time of day in... who knows how long, he didn't their time to be over quite yet.

"Uh.. I mean..." He said, almost sheepishly. "Ya don't gotta go. I mean... I'm enjoying being with you. Uh..." Murdoc's mind sped threw line after line, but he could find nothing interesting to say. Nothing to interest her enough into staying.

Aha. The girl liked talking about herself, so...

"What do you, uh... do? I mean, while you're traveling."

Jo smiled, glad he seemed to want her around for at least a while. Maybe she hadn't been annoying as she though?

"Well...then I'll stay." She said after a moment, nodding. It was probably true, she did like talking about herself, but she might have stayed anyway. Not only had the sun risen in the sky and their was no shade around, but he was very amusing.

"Well, sing. It gets very boring when you travel alone, so their usually isn't much to do." She shrugged.

"I run into others here and there, a few times I have traveled with them. But I always end up going on my own. They have other things to do." She explained, not sure if he was really listening or not.

"And you? Do you have someone you travel with or meet people during your travels?"

His eyes seemed to light up then... Sing? He certainly didn't seem like the type, but Murdoc adored music. He didn't have much of a singing voice, but he frequently came up with odd little tunes to hum to himself.

"You sing..?" He grinned, his full attention on her, and not her body for the first time. His excitement was a bit dulled by her question. "Eeh..." The male looked a bit sheepish at first. "Nah. Just travel alone. No one really..." He paused, shocked that he had almost admitted that no one wanted to be around him. Recovering quickly, he smirked. "No one is really able to handle my greatness, is all."

Shrugging off the subject quickly, he cocked his head to the side. "Sing for me, babe?"

"Hmm." She said with a nod, wrinkling her nose at his request. He certainly wouldn't be the type she normally sang for. In her pride as a cub, it was strictly nobles and royalty. But a good natured laugh followed.

"I suppose? Mind you, I'm no song writer." She warned, glaring at him. Jo was sensitive about this. She had often been told things like, 'it's a shame you don't have a song to go to that lovely voice.' and other insults. She took them all personally, and didn't like receiving such comments.

"It's only humming and other nonsensical tunes for me." She said flatly, if not a little bitter.

"Sometimes wordless music is the best." He nodded excitedly, eyes locked on her's now, barely blinking. Her voice was pleasant when she spoke, he could only imagine when she sang!

The tip of his tail thumped against the dirt slowly, as is subconsciously keeping some kind of beat. "Go on. I'm sure it will be fine, yeah." Then he was quiet, and would listen to the singing without any interruptions.

Silently, she stood from her spot. Clearing her throat, she smiles and tilted her chin slightly upward.

The words that came out of her mouth made no sense. It was a mix of humming and nonsensical words, strung together by Jo's soft voice. One note flowed into another, flawlessly smooth. She had a rather high, light voice.

After a few moments, she stopped. Nodding her head very low in an over exaggerated bow.

Murdoc's eyes fell half lidded as he listened, chin tilting down lazily once he'd gotten caught up in the music. He found himself humming along, well... in his head anyway. He didn't dare interfere with her song. Though, his tail softly thumped to the rhythm.

When it was over he instantly wanted more, and had to bite back the demand for her to continue. Instead he looked back up at her and smiled widely, exposing his sharp yellowed teeth. "Was beautiful. Should sing more, if ya want to. But I agree, it'd be really perfect with a song. I.. should write ya one sometime."

"You could do that?" She asked, awe in her voice. He wasn't the first to offer to write her a song. Others had suggested they could write her a song, but it had been a bluff. They always backed out in the end.

"I guess I'd like an actual song, but I've gotten so used to humming and no-words singing...I suppose it would be a nice change though." She nodded, glancing away absent mindedly.

He bobbed his head, ears fanned forward excitedly. His eyes were a bit wide, giving him a slightly eccentric look, with how mismatched they were. "Yeah, I'm not too bad at writing music. Just.... Ain't got much of a voice, really. But I got all these tunes in my head, yeah, I'll think of something for you!" He stood quickly and smirked, starting to wander off into the hot grass, seemingly lost in concentration. "I'll come back with a song for ya, Babe." He called back, vanishing into the tall savanah.

His rough, deep voice could be heard muttering and humming for a while, until he was too far away to hear.
