Eglantine's smile widened. "Great! I want to show you my favorite place on the river. It's this clearing where it's nice and sunny, and the water's slow and the sun sparkles off of it." Clumsily, she reached over for his claws, attempting to hold them in hers. "Let's go!"

He blushed as he saw her reaching for his claws. A clearing? sounds romantical! He thought. "Sounds romantic!" He said out loud. "Maybe we can stay there for a little while!" He was thinking maybe he would make his move tonight, even though he had only just met her! it was definitely love at first site if there ever were a thing.

"I hope so," Eglantine murmured as Jay's dark feathers flushed a bit. "It's a very beautiful place." As they made their way down to the river, Eglantine began to talk a little more. She felt so comfortable with Jay, and wanted him to know as much of her story as she could tell him. It wasn't much- she'd had a fairly normal childhood in the lab, and had gotten out at a young age. The lab was what had made her decide to be a vegetarian, because she couldn't stand the death that occurred there. The river was beautiful, sparkling and clean. Fish could be seen jumping occasionally, and songbirds chirped in the trees. The grass was nice and cool, and the sun wasn't too hot. "Well, what do you think?" Eglantine said, cocking her head. "This is it!"

As the sun glinted its final rays over the water, a sudden green flash caught his attention over the horizon as Eglantine asked "Well, what do you think? This is it!" "It's... beautiful." Jay said slowly, totally in awe of this new gorgeous place. He noticed that she was much more talkative than she was earlier, and she told him many secrets one would only tell their husband or wife. After a few minutes of them both looking at the final ray of sunshine slipping down over the horizon, and finally being extinguished under the ocean. "You know, I was born a lab experiment, but within minutes of being branded and tattooed, I escaped into the wild, so I might as well have been born free. That is how I can be so cheery." Jay explained quietly and carefully. "If I had grown up in a factory, I probably would have been differant. I want to help populate the colony of escaped raptors with eggs, and babies." Reaching for her claws, he continued. "As far as I know, there have been little or no wild clutches of eggs. Together, we can make that possible. Together, we can make life." Looking at her face intently, he saw enjoyment at him holding her claws, but a hint of doubt clouding her pretty eyes. "So, what say you?"

"Oh, Jay," Eglantine said in a small, happy voice as tears mysteriously sprung to her eyes. Why was she almost crying? This was the best thing that had ever happened to her. "If I learned anything in that lab, it was that life was precious. All life, no matter how small. I hated seeing how the babies were treated, but here- here we have a chance to nurture new life and let it grow up strong. Here we have a chance to take things into our own talons and make a new life for ourselves and our children." She swallowed before continuing, knowing that her next words would change her life forever. "And I would love to make new life with you."

"Cool...!" Said Jay in a gushy lovesick kind of way. That really made Eglantine laugh!

Aww, he was so cute! Eglantine leaned in and gave her new mate a little lick on the cheek. "Love you, too!"
