Prompt #3

It was a sunny day and there were no clouds to be seen in the sky, “A perfect day to train!” Ciara a Vampire fluffy cat breed with dark purple fur spoke aloud to no one in particular. Just then a light breeze filtered through the air and with it a sent of something that smelled close to her favorite type of fish drifted by. Ciara sniffed the air and being the curious cat she is followed the sent deeper into the woods where she spotted an little house and by the looks of the chipped paint and the missing shingles from the roof it looked as though it hadn’t been lived in for several years. Ciara took in her surroundings a bit longer than decided that it would be alright to go in since it looked like no one lived there, “I’ll just take a peek inside and see what that smell is then I’ll leave” Ciara told herself then headed inside. Once inside a strong gust of wind forced the door to slam shut and when Ciara tried to open the door it wouldn’t budge, “Oh no! The door knob is so rusted that I can’t get out!” Ciara exclaimed.

Now locked inside Ciara decided she needed to find another way out, the food she had smelled earlier was the last thing on her mind. Ciara went from room to room until she stumbled upon a space that looked like it was once a little baby’s room. Ciara was about to leave the room when out of the corner of her eye she spotted a basket by a rocking chair that held her one weakness, a ball of yarn. Ciara tried to turn away from it and tried to convince herself not to give in “I must… resist!” but in the end she just couldn’t help herself, “I know I shouldn’t but I can’t help but be drawn to the yarn!” and with that she ran across the room clawed at the ball of string until she was rolling it all over the room, throwing it into the air and hugging it to her little body. While playing with the yarn it rolled out into the hall where Ciara spotted a hole in a cornor behind an old cabinet that was falling apart, “A way out!” Ciara exclaimed but just as she was going to run for the exit she looked back at the ball of string that she had come to love and she rolled it back up and took it with her, “That was quite the adventure I had today, and I even found some yarn!"

Prompt 1 (reposted for dice roll)User Image
Api looked around rather displeased before peering down at the sound of his stomach growling. He hadn't had a decent meal in days, just nibbles of bread that didn't have mold on it...or fruit that hadn't rotted completely. Sort of nasty, yes, but one must do what they can in order to survive.

Several of his kind, along with himself of course, had gathered in the clearing to discuss what they must do about this shortage of food. There were discussions to neighbors and friends so far, but no one had stood up to address the whole crowd yet. Api was getting annoyed, and hungry, so he huffed to the center and shouted a very loud "HEY!!"

As heads swiveled and mouths shut, Api finally smiled, though it was sort of a sly smile. "Ok you lot," he said. "I have been listening into your conversations and assessing the situation. You all say you don't have much to offer as food. That's ok. Just bring me a pot of water to the clearing, and light a fire around it, and I'll take care of the rest." He then sort of rolled his eyes and vanished into the woods, and while the others found this behavior rather odd, they were too hungry to argue, so they went to do what the cat had told them.

When Api returned, there was a large black kettle in the center of the clearing, water simmering away. All looked at him as he approached the pot, a smooth stone in his paws. Acting like he knew what he was doing, he plunked the stone into the water and looked at it pleasantly. A few of the more scholarly Fluffy Cats immediately knew what he was doing, and went home quickly to grab the few things of food they had to help the story along.

When asked what he was doing by some of the more clueless cats, Api would simply reply in a sarcastic tone. "Why, making stone soup of course!" A few moments later one of the cats that had flew away returned with some vegetables.

"Stone soup itself is indeed a tasty treat, but it tastes better with these in the pot," he commented, giving Api a wink before placing them into the water. Then, one by one the cats who knew the story returned, saying similar things and placing what little food they had into the water. The other cats soon took suit, going to their own homes and getting what little food they had and then rushing back to place it in the pot of stone soup.

Now there was a large pot of wonderful smelling soup in the clearing. Api was quick to serving himself a bowl, digging in.

"Tasty~" was all he said before stuffing his mouth again. And all the cats feasted on the wonderful stone soup, and had decent meals from it for days afterwards.

The outdoors was where she loved to be. Finding her prey was easy this time of year. But better yet...were the bugs.

She had an odd fascination with them, and usually picked up the more dangerous ones. Today, she found a large, black scorpion. Usually she would approach it from behind, but today she came up in front of it. She stared at it, hissing and lashing her tail and clicking her sickle claws against the ground.

At first, The scorpion was on guard, ready to inject it's poison at a moment's notice...but after a few minutes it scuttled towards her and up her arm. Resting on her shoulder, it arched it's tail like a guardian of sorts.

Letting out a snarl of either happiness or warning, Bellus took off with her new friend, collecting spiders, preying mantises and other dangerous bugs and insects. She welcomed danger...and tamed it.

Prompt 3:

The moon shone brightly overhead as Syr watched in fascination as the fur-less and wing-less anthros entered the giant, brightly lit cave. They seemed to come in two varieties, one of which was plain black and white, heavier built and tall, while the other was colorful and graceful, covered in sparkly things that her paws itched to get a hold of.

Flying quietly down to one of the side entrances to this vast cave network, she peered into an unlit side cave, where most of the space was taken up by a strange box with drapes around it. Eying the only entrance (a small hinged door made of glass which was only slightly ajar) dubiously, she slipped a paw under the door and opened it wide enough for her to slip in. Once getting completely through, the door closed all the way with a click noise, trapping her in the cave. Frowning with annoyance, she glared at the door, then batted it a few times. The door rattled, but remained closed. Shaking her head, she looked around the room, searching for another way out. A glimmer from something on table to her left caught her attention, and she sidled over to it.

Halfway to her new source of interest, there was a sudden movement from under the drape covered box, and a very fast green streak barreled at Syr.

"minemineminemineminemineminemineMineMineMINEMI-YEOWCH!!" shrieked the blur until it ran face first into Syr's flicked tail, doing three barrel rolls in the air before landing in a surprised pile several feet away. Beady red eyes blinked for a moment, then the creature bounced back up and charged again. Syr calmly swatted it to one side, causing it to somersault into a wall, winding up feet in the air and large floppy ears skewed to each side.

"May I help you?" Syr asked, quirking an eyebrow at the strange critter. It wasn't a fluffy either, although its ears seemed similar to one she'd heard called "Wiz". Smaller and slighter than a fluffy, the creture looked more like prey than predator, if you could ignore the sharp pointy teeth and beady red eyes.

The creature looked at Syr in bafflement. "You're not supposed to hit back..." it muttered, not taking its eyes of the large blue fluffy as it righted itself.

"If you attack me, of course I'm going to hit you back." Syr commented, eyes going from the hunched green creature to where she'd spotted the glint of something shiny. "What did I do to you anyway?"

"You come in Grunny's house. You take Grunny's things!" the green creature said accusingly.

Syr shrugged in response. "Are all the things here yours?"

"Well... er... no..." Grunny admitted.

"Then show me something that's not yours, and I'll take that instead. I'm looking for shiny things, like what the furless blessed ones wear." Syr stated, motioning roughly towards the front entrance with a paw.

Grunny's expression was awash with relief. "Oh, Grunny can show you lots of shiny things that aren't Grunny's! Follow me!" it exclaimed, hopping rapidly to and through another doorway. Syrillian followed more sedately.

Grunny led Syr into the next cave, which was dominated by many large boxes covered in smaller boxes that glittered softly in the moonlight. Syr's eyes widened in anticipation as Grunny hopped up onto one of the large boxes and nosed open one of the smaller. Syr jumped up next to him, and looked inside. Nestled delicately in the velvet lined box was an exquisite platinum torque, studded with thumb sized star sapphires. Syr tried very hard not to drool.

"Not Grunny's!" Grunny stated matter-of-factly.

"Nope." Syr agreed. "Mine." Picking up the torque in her teeth, she hopped down and sauntered out of the room into the hall.

Lieutenant Robert Thorne stifled a yawn. He was supposed to be guarding the master's wing, preventing any of the guests from the party from venturing too far into his master's private domain. When he opened his eyes after the huge yawn, he had to blink several times before it registered exactly what he was seeing. How the heck had a large blue winged cat gotten there? The cat turned and met his gaze, curiosity flickering across the strangely intelligent oculars. "Mrne" it said around the incredibly expensive torque in its mouth, then spread its wings and flew out the open window.

Slack jawed, Lieutenant Thorne watched as the blue speck sped into the darkness. "Gotta stop using those G-Corp products... they make you see the STRANGEST things..." he muttered, scratching at the goatee he'd paid several month's salary for in Gro-gain. "Next, I'll be seeing green killer rabbits..." he broke off as Grunny hopped into view. This being the straw that broke the camel's back, Thorne screamed in terror and fled into the night, forever haunted by dreams of winged cat thieves and green rabbits with sharp, pointy teeth and beady red eyes.

Prompt #2
It was a long afternoon of reading and laying deep in the trees without much to do. This was the kind of afternoon that Mesaishaem had been longing for since Areikyl came into his life. It wasn't that he minded Areikyl but sometimes she was a little high strung... and then of course.. soon after she into his life he had had two wonderful children. However, now they were grown and he finally had some much needed time to himself..

As Mesaishaem was nestled into the crook of the tree he noticed something buzz over his head. He frowned as his eyes shifted up but seeing nothing he just shook it and went back to flipping the pages of his book. And then there... there was the buzz again. Growling, he slammed the book shut, pushed down his glasses when he noticed a slender insect with a blue twinge to two sets of wings. Musing, with a tilt of his head he inched closer, crawling over the branch until his nose was within an inch of the beautiful bug. Being so close he could see the bulging spots on the head where eyes were located and then he realized he wanted closer... but as he inched forward the bug raised its head and flew off into the air.

I wonder what bug that was... He thought to himself as he pulled off into the tree, grabbing a book out and began to flip through it until he found a picture that matched the bug. "Ah! A damselfly!" He grinned. Jumping down from the limb, making sure that his book was tucked carefully under his arm, he jumped down from his tree and began to walk through the forest to see what other interesting insects he could find. As he moved through he spotted multiple butterflies; swallowtails, monarchs, some that he identified as sulphurs.. He also found beetles, flies and even many spiders such as jumping spiders, wolf spiders and even a golden orb weaver!

Mesaishaem felt pleased and marked each one off in his book, he even caught himself a spider and a butterfly to bring back to his tree. And once he got there he settled back into his little nook, deciding to take a nap after a long day...

Grant walked threw the forest it was his 1st time really away from his home. he did feel bad for leavening his mother but she was on the mend now and could take care of her self. his mother was the one that said he should go out for a few days.

Sleeping in the woods have been new to him. He was used to the safe tree. Grant had been walking exploring from early morning. it was only midday when he found something he had never seen before. it was wood like a tree but it was not. he pushed open what he guessed was the door. he walked in slowly creeping trying not to make a sound.

Grant looked around the shelves and the floor where covered with many wonders. Grant saw some light coming from onto a desk. he jumped up on the desk, what he saw was a bowl of sorts with a fish within it. there was a soft glow coming from the top of the bowl. Next to that was something unlike anything her had seen. he placed his paw on the small black buttons. as he pushed the buttons a light came from the big square above him. he jumped back pushing something on the floor with his behind.

Grant looked down to watch a ball of yarn roll away. he jumped down and followed the yarn every now and then jumping onto the yarn playing with it. doing his best not to be to loud.

the yarn stopped on something small and soft it looked kinda like a blanket, but it was not a leaf it was cloth. he pawed at the blanket looking at all the small shapes. He looked around once more as he wondered if this place would really miss one thing even more so when the place had so many of them.

he laided down on the blanket wondering about the pros and cons of taking the blanket. they ran threw his head for some time till he thought of his mother. he knew it was wrong to take without asking but he knew it would be worth it. he crawled under the blanket and did his best to get it to stay on his back. he then left for the door back into the outside.

he walked on and turned back just before the house was out of view. "I will bring berries latter to pay for this." he told him self. then he went back on his way to give his gift to his beloved mother.

Grant got home from the little house from the day before. he jumped up the tree and looked at the blanket. it was a bit dirty and had a small rip in it but still it was very pretty. Grant dragged the blanket over his mother and gave her a small lick on the cheek. he looked around his home tree when he saw they where running low on berries and such. Knowing he should get some he grabbed the small pouch and jumped down the tree.

It did not take long to fill the pouch but he would have to do it two or three times to be safe. he did not like having to go everyday, and soon it was going to get cold he would have to start putting berries in the keep good area of the tree for the winter.

as he filled up his second run he saw a funny paw print in the ground. this scared him he knew of the evil thing in the woods. it had tired to kill his mother before and had killed over before. could this be proof it was near by? he lessoned to land around him. he still hear bird and other wild life
so it could not be to close. he looked at the paw print wondering if he should follow them. he heard his mother from the home tree. it was then that he knew he should go. he hated living in fear, he hated what this thing had done to his mother. He would go if only to find out more about it.

He places his pouch inside the bush and started to follow the steps. they where long and far apart. what ever it was it was big or it was half flying. we followed the steps to the dead end of the woods.

he looked down into the woods it was dark and cold even if it was warm and sunny behind him. he started to walk into the dead woods still doing his best to follow the steps. it was much harder now with dead leaves covering the grounds.

he walked about a mile in when he saw a cave with something dark in it. they "demon was dark and lanky. he wondered if that was what had gone after his mother. he watched it walk back and forth in its cave he heard something cry from with in. it sounded like a bunny, it sounded it dinner.

he started to take a few steps back. at least he knew where it lived now one day maybe he would come back with help. one day he would get it back for his mother. for now he would go home. he would not tell his mom where he went. he would keep it for himself.

he went on his way home making sure he was not followed. when he got home he picked up his pouch and picked a few more berries and went home. tonight he would have nightmears he was sure. he just hoped he was not followed.

Round 2, Prompt 1

Mesaishaem sighed as he was out yet again in another part of the forest. This almost seemed like his daily routine anymore. The days were growing shorter and he was growing increasingly bored now that Arei was an adult. His days were filled with sleep and reading, quietly watching over his children from time to time. Still... something hung tightly in the air..

He jumped down from his branch, landing on the ground. Musing, his eyes searched the heavens above and he saw the rain heavy in the sky. He managed a small smile before shaking it out, he didn't feel very happy this day. He slammed his book shut and began walking when he saw a strange print on the ground. He paused and began examining it. Of all the books he had looked through nothing had ever given him a clue as to what this could be. Well, what else could he do? It was time for an adventure!

Mesaishaem grinned as he dropped to all fours, beginning to search around for any clues as to what could have left such a large print. Without thinking of his own safety, he began following them until he paused, hearing a high pitch squeal. He gasped, pushing himself up against a tree as his eyes blinked to see beyond the bushes. And then in the distance he saw a strange clothed animal, he moved closer... and closer until he saw his daughter standing there. He gasped, "Fortune! Get away!"

Fortune turned, staring at her father for a moment with wide eyes. A heaviness was welling up in his stomach when the creature turned. And then in one movement it reached up... and off came it's head! Staring at his father from a large orange dragon costume was his son, Ksarigha, "Hey Dad! Fortune and I were practicing for the talent contest, what do you think?"

Mesaishaem felt his stomach finally began to calm. "It was wonderful Son, you did a great job on the costume." He stated with a smile.

Prompt #2
As usually Aine was exploring in the forest admiring the flowers but today she seemed to have gotten lost. She glanced around but nothing seemed familiar. "I probably shouldn't have gone this way. Maybe I can just turn around." But Aine had no idea which way she came from. This was bad news for Aine because she had never gotten lost in the forest and had no idea what to do. She sighs and sits down on a stump. Her best idea was to just start walking and hope she would she something familiar. As she started walking she could see the clouds moving in over her head. "What luck, its probably gonna rain." A few minutes later it starte to down pour. Aine kept walking and after awhile her paws were all muddy. "Yuck, why is mud so gross and soggy?" She kept wandering the forest until she found a spot that looked familiar. She was overjoyed that finally she could get out of the rain but she wasn't sure which way to go again. Aine hoped she chose the right path. Soon enough she made it to the edge of the forest. She headed home for a nice bath. "I need to remember to map out areas of the forest so I don't get lost again." She laughed and went home.
