Prompt 2 Name: Trigu Familiar: Rabbit
Trigu walked into the cave his pelt soaking wet as the water of the waterfall fell over the entrance. He shook his pelt and heard a stirring, a rummaging. His ears perked and he flicked his mane as he saw a golden cub with jewels inbeaded moving. He kicked it real hard with his front hoof and watched as it spun fast. A rabbit spun out its ears flopping over its body a amethyst pendant hanging from its foot and its mouth large with gold coins. It real quickly spit out the gold coins its eyes dizzy and gave Trigu a long mean glare. Trigu hit him lightly in the head with his front hoof though he could have stomped and it would have been over with. The pendant came off and a few diamods came out of its ear. It gave a low growl with was odd since it was a rabbit and kept giving the ' my treasures...' look. Trigu chuckled as he stepped real hard right in front of the rabbit and it and a few pebbles jumped. Yet this is when he noticed the rabbit's wet was not fur like his own. It had not come in from the waterfall then from were? He saw a few cracks and alost past out as a few rabbits poking there head in. He gave a loud nay telling them to ' Get out ' He was never so violent if they would not have touched something of his. Was he geedy? Well yes... Was he timid? Maybe not. He approached his treasures kicking the rabbit out of his way as he scavanged to make sure nothing was taken. A young rabbit not listening to the others approached him with a gold coin in its mouth. The young rabbit put the gold coins in her paws and gave a little " Nyuu?" Sound. It had flobby ears and it was grey with white ears. Trigu took it in his mouth and threw it in the pile. All the bunnies scurried away not htinking the young rabbit would survive. Though the young rabbit gave another " Nyu?" Sound. Trigu knew what had just happend " Am I stuck with you now...." He groaned. He thought for a second and threw a gold coin into the crack of the cave. He tried to get it out and he couldn't. " Now you try..." He said and the rabbit quickly hopped into the cracks and bit onto the gold and carried it out. He knew the other rabbits had not listened and had taken his treasures so why was this one so obediant? He gave a light chuckle. " You could help me..." He said lightly. He picked the young rabbit up and dangled it from the ground. The rabbit was in a hunched little ball and didn't try to move. It licked it paw the tried to lick Trigu's muzzle. That didn't work. Night started to fall and the rabbit shivered and he said " Stay with me and you'll make me rich and you won't die..." it was half a threat though it was muffled. The rabbit seemed to nod then fell asleep in the position. Trigu set the rabbit down in the corner were it was suprisingly warm which he usully slept in. He laid right in front of it to make sure it wouldn't leave and soon even he fell asleep the golden pendant on his kneck dangling.

Prompt for the Tiger's Eye Kirin You were born with the desire for shiny things. Riches or trash, if it shines, you want it. After years of collecting your shinies, you've amassed quite the collection in an undisclosed location (whether it's in the forest, in a cave, etc, up to you). While out one day, you return and find a familiar (you choose what kind) rummaging through your treasures and attempting to take something. What are they trying to steal away from you? How do you react? Roleplay the scenario and the outcome. Name: Deshi (Means Virtuous in Chinese) Familiar: Merrick (Ferret) Today had proved disappointing for the golden stallion. Each morning he would set out to look for items for his growing collection and he simply had no luck this day. Nothing shiny had stood out. Of course, he was sure the rain clouds had a lot to do with it. A shadow seemed to loom over the land and when a few rays of sunlight had managed to sneak their way through, it didn't seem to do him much good.
Though he would be heading home with nothing, he at least had his large hoard to look forward to. He had collected so many things. He wasn't sure what half of them were but it didn't matter much to the stallion. Most came from the paler two leggers that had visited the island. It seemed they had such an assortment of shiny items. He was sure the items wouldn't be missed. In fact, they were left lying around and discarded as far as he could see. He was deep in thought as he made his way around the bends and turns of the mountain, heading for the cave he had hid nearby.
His collection consisted of other pretty tokens as well. Some of these were things he had found on the island, pretty stones that shone in the light or seemed to sparkle at him. This land had so many treasures hiding about and each day was like an adventure, trying to find them. Some days he would come back with several tokens and others, like today, he would come back with naught. He would never let it get him down though. There was always tomorrow. Always new areas to explore.
Soon, he had arrived to his cave and set out to work on dragging the tall branches away from the entrance. Every day he would have to pull the branches away and every day, he would have to situate them back up to hide the entrance. It was quite a chore but it had to be done. The last thing he wanted was to find some animal moving into his cave and messing with his pretties!
CLINK CLINK CLINK CLIIIIIIIIINK came a sound from within the cave when he had pulled away the last big branch. Something was in his cave! The stallion lowered his head and stepped in, moving slowly to the center. Though it was a tight fit in the winded tunnel, it did open up quite nicely in the center. One wouldn't believe such a spacious area resided within. Also there were a few small holes in the crevices that provided some light when the sun was out and some drinking water when it rained. It wasn't a bad place to call home, really.
In an attempt to sound far more intimidating than he really was, he bellowed, "Who is in my cave?" A shuffle of movement came from his right and Deshi saw the rear end of a ferret scamper into a steel pot.
"S..s..sorry," the small creature stuttered. "I.. didn't kn..kn...know this place was t..t..taken, sir. I was j...j..just looking for a home. Thought this th...th..thing would work nicely."
The stallion sighed and walked over to the item in question. It was round and quite big. It had been one of the hardest things to drag to his cave, taking him the better part of an entire day. It was also one of his most treasured items because he could almost see his reflection on the surface of it.
"You won't take it out of this cave," the stallion asked though it was more of a demand.
"No.. no...no sir. I don't think it would even be p..p..possible, sir."
Though a part of him wanted him to chase that creature out of his cave, he knew that his parents had raised him better than that. He was taught to respect other creatures and lend a helping hoof when one was needed. "What is your name, ferret?"
"Name's Merrick, sir," came the quiet reply. As the ferret's nervousness died down, so did his stutter, it seemed.
The stallion lowered his head and whispered back, "Well, Merrick, you are welcome to live here under one condition. You guard this cave when I am away." He knew that was a tall order for such a tiny creature and honestly didn't expect much to come from it. The creature had made himself a home and he was not about to send it out. It would rain soon and even that wasn't much of an excuse.
"Sir!," the ferret exclaimed as he pulled himself up on his hind legs. He puffed his little chest and stood so proud in his little pot home. "I would be honored, sir!"
Though the stallion would not realize it for several more days, he had found a treasure that would mean more to him than anything he kept in his cave. He would find himself looking forward to going home, even empty handed, for he would had the company of an endearing friend to look forward to. He did not know the many nights he would spend laughing at his small friend's wild tales or his new friend's keen eye when it came to finding items in places Deshi would not be able to see, or reach. What was a way of life would become a hobby, and what was a forced intrusion would become a friend for life.

User name: LunaRei_SilverBlood Prompt: Tiger's Eye Kirin Name: Emperor Zoazu Familiar: Ferret
“Oh what a glorious day today is!” Zoazu slowly moved his way down along the path. His scales shone brightly off the sun’s light as he worked his way up the mountain. He regal look gave him a bit of arrogance in his walk, and general stature. He tossed his tail behind him as he made his to the hiding spot of his treasures. Such a place was unnoticed by all, Just off the path there was a landing that’s view was blocked by a line of trees. Just on the other side all his shinies were placed. The Emperor would step through the trees.. “OH! My precious shinies how I have missed you!” He cooed to his shinies. Though what was that noise? -clink… clack.. – Zoazu peered with his golden eyes. “My shinies, are you trying to talk to me?” The slightly oblivious kirin would be surprised when a small ferret popped out of the treasure pile, pulling something with it. It would take a moment for the oh so regal Zoazu to realize just what was happening. “MY SHINIES!” he bounded over to block the ferret. The Ferret took it’s shiny object and tried to scurry away. Obviously frightened by the much larger creature. The ferret scurried with the object into the underbrush, and Zaozu quickly followed in a not so graceful style. “Shiny come back!” After trampling through the brush he saw the ferret pulling the shiny thing up the path, and he stampeded after it.
Emperor Zoazu had no idea what to step on. Not his lovely shinies, but he didn’t want to harm the smaller creature either. Leaning down he picked up the treasure with his teeth, and the ferret was lifting into dangling. “Mah Shinies!” he repeated. It would appear that the ferret was taking a bowl. The ferret squeaked and tried to get the bowl free but it was of no use.
“My family needs this bowl.” The ferret told him. “The travel to the river is just to much, for my mate, and my little ones… With this bowl, we can collect rain water, and snow water.” The ferret pleaded. Zoazu who still had the shiny bowl safe in his grasps, peered at the ferret. “But… Shiny…” He mumbled into the side. He was a kind hearted horse… But this was so tough. His lovely shinies… He didn’t want to even lose one. The ferret looked up at him, with those glistening pleading eyes.
Dropping both the ferret and the bowl, he looked around, and leaned in close. “For t he greater good. You keep my shiny bowl, and don’t tell anyone of the secret shiny treasure holding place. Got it?” The ferret nodded… Not to sure what to say in all honestly. Zoazu had to keep the rest of his precious shines safe…

Prompt for Ruby Angeni You've just arrived in this new land, and already you've run across a problem. During your travel, you spot a young foal in distress. What situation have they gotten themselves into? Are they hurt? Lost? And, what do you do about it? Do you ignore the foal? Help them? WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT IT? -------------------- RP Side notes -------------------- Name: Lehava (Le-hav-a) Meaning: Flames
The two foals used in this RP are fictional; if they have the same name as any actual pets then that is just a coincident. Foal One: Serra (f) Foal Two: Sebastian (m) The two foals are twins, one if female and the other male.
The fire was started through natural causes (spontaneous combustion of dry vegetation). --------------------
Journeying to new places was always such a thrill, after all you never knew quite what to expect, who you would meet, what would happen. She had seen many beautiful places on her travels, including some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire world. Landing softly on the lush green grass she began to trot softly near the river; there was always something calming about water. How it caught the light, how it reflected the image of whomever looked upon its rippling surface.
Gazing to her left as she walked she saw her image wiggle in the ripples as they gently splashed against the bank. It was wonderful. Everything was happy and cheerful. A whole new adventure waited ahead of her, she could feel it.
As she continued to gaze at her reflection, the reflection of the trees, the sky, and the world around her, she noticed something that seemed out of place. She stopped to examine the reflection, it looked like what could be described as nothing other than a pillar of smoke. A pillar of smoke could mean only one thing, FIRE.
Stunned she turned to the right gazing up at the actual pillar of billowing grey and black smoke. The smell of burning was slowly diffusion towards her; it stung at her nose causing her to flinch softly. She wondered what was happening, how had such a horrible thing happened? It was best to stay near the river and out of the forest, her thoughts stumbled through a different number of scenarios ran through her mind as she carried on following the rivers path when suddenly she noticed movement in the corner of her eye. Surely the fire had not reached her already? Instinctively she stepped into the river, its cooling ripples gently splashing against her legs as she looked to see what had really caught her attention.
There running towards her was a what appeared to be a very young foal, with bright scarlet fur, he was very hansom, though fear was stricken across his face, a fear that she had never seen before. Curious she stepped forward speaking gently, her voice cool and collective.
"Come on little one, you may stay with me and I will get you safely away from the fire."
She smiled softly, knowing that it was possible the foals parents had told him to never talk to strangers. Yet her words did not seem to have any effect on him, he was shaking his head as he slowed down before her. Now that he was closer it was obvious that he had been crying, stale tear marks ran down his cheeks.
"No, I am sorry…. I need to go back."
He was huffing and puffing from the long run, and as she watched it was obvious that he was struggling with some terrible trumer.
"You are safe now, we don’t need to go back."
She said, trying to reassure him. Yet again he shook his head.
"My sister…my sister needs help. She is trapped. PLEASE HELP!"
His words seemed laboured but where filled with passion, it was obvious that he was not lying; someone was indeed in trouble, which was a call that could not be ignored. Yet she knew that fire was dangerous, for all they knew the little foal that was trapped was already lost to the world. She looked into his eyes, the sadness was overwhelming, it was worth a try. After all there was always the smallest glimmer of hope that she was alive and well.
"Ok, lets get going little one. What is your sisters name?"
"Her name is Serra, and mine is Sebastian. Please follow me!!"
She watched as he galloped away, he was fast, it must have been the adrenaline rush that was keeping him from crashing out of exhaustion, that and the need to help his sister. She started after him, picking up speed with her step until finally she was also galloping, she caught up to the little foal easily but that was to be expected. After travelling for what felt like an eternity the reached the outskirts of the damaged areas, flames flickering from branch to branch, leaf litter popping beneath their feet. The fire was slowly but surely consuming the forest, it was a devastating sight. The smoke was getting thicker, making her breath laboured, and she struggled to keep up her speed. With each step she felt more and more light headed. She lowered her head below the smokes line and slowed down to a slow trot.
"Sebastian, go back to the River and wait there. Stand in the water so that the flames don’t reach you. It too dangerous here for you now."
"But Serra, I can’t leave Serra!!"
"You have to, you won’t survive long in here, I will keep looking until I find your sister."
"Do you promise?"
She pondered that, she hated breaking her promises, but she couldn’t let him continue risking his life, after all his delicate lungs wouldn’t be able to take as much as her own. She had to; it was the only way to save him.
"I promise. Now go!"
He nodded, before turning around and galloping back towards the edge of the flaming forest. As she watched him until he was out of her sight.
"Ouch."
She jumped up suddenly, something had licked her shoulder burning the fur, it stung. Panic began to take over, flames flickered and licked the air in all directions around her and there was no sign of Serra. In desperation she called out, moving slowly forward, keeping her eyes peeled on the path before her as best as she could through the smoke.
"SERRA… SERRA! Can you hear me Serra?"
There was no response, the heat was overwhelming, the smell continued to sting her nose, and the burn on her shoulder made it difficult to walk. But she had to go on, she had to find Serra, she had made a promised. She would not break that promise, although her eyes started to feel heavy as sleep was slowly setting in.
She carried on walking, dodging falling branches, boulders on the ground and burrows dug by smaller animals as she continued her search. On and on she walked, panic taking over, making her limbs stiff, her mind numb and her nose and eye sting with the dread of death. When suddenly she saw was looked like the body of a small animal on the floor before her. It could be Serra. That thought gave her the power and energy she needed to reach her.
Lowering her head she felt for a pulse. It was there but very week. She had to get her out of here or the flames would consume them both. Nudging Serra softly with her nose she spoke softly.
"Come on little one."
Serra lay lifeless on the ground, not stirring to the nudge or the sound of her voice. There was no other option she would have to carry her as best she could. She lowered her head again reaching for the back of Serra’s neck before grapping her between her teeth picking her up. She was very light, though she could feel her slipping already. She needed to get her out of here and quickly, the longer they stayed around the smoke and the soot the less chance she had. She couldn't use her wings for the flame engulf all the leaves on the trees surrounding her and she would get hurt trying.
Glancing around she searched for a gap in the billowing smoke and flickering flames, finding on she moved as fast as she could, ignoring the pain in her shoulder as she went. All that was important now was getting the little foal out with a pulse. Picking up speed she galloped from gap to gap, jumping over flaming logs and dodging falling debris as it stumbled to the ground. Her eyes started to sting in the thickening smoke forcing her to blink more often as she headed back towards the edge of the forest. She couldn’t have been far away now.
Her breath was laboured, her eyes and nose stung with an increased ferocity as she continued, determined to reunite the two little foals.
Looking ahead she could see the river and Sebastian, there was one more obstacle to go. Before her there was no gap in the fire, she would have to jump over it, her legs felt heavy, her breath felt laboured, and her wings felt tight, she knew in her heart of hearts that she would not make it over the flaming wall, the smoke thickened around her, she had to move, to had to keep going, to had to try. The little foal in her mouth slipped slightly from her grip, she was getting heavy now.
"On the count of three."
She thought to herself, closing her eyes to subside the sting for a moment or two.
"One… two… three…"
And with every ounce of strength she had left she jumped as high as she could while attempting to spread her wings as far as she dared between the burning trees of the forest, she closed her eyes. A hope and a prayer in her heart. Everything was down to fate now, would they make it?
Flames flickered angrily at her stomach and the tips of her feathers as she jumped causing her to cry out in pain, releasing the foal from her grip, her eyes snapped open as she gazed on the image before her. Like in a story she was being told the characters moved of her own accord. Serra’s body landed with a heavy thump and rolled helplessly away from her, while her own crashed to the ground moments later sending her also into a roll. She looked unable to move as the world spun into an angry array of colours. Until nothing but darkness.
-----------------------------A short time later-----------------------------
She woke up to feel the coolness of the river around her, soothing the fresh burns on her shoulder, stomach and feathers. They where painful, yet the water helped in relieving the pain. Spreading her wings softly to check they worked she began to notice that it was raining, each drop softly splashing against her skin as it landed. The world looked so much different in the rain, everything was darker, yet at the same time cleansed. Her mind drifted to the places she had been before when suddenly her conscious memories returned, the reason why she was burnt, and the mission she had promised to a young foal. Serra!
Clambering to her feet she searched both of the foals, until her eyes spotted them about three metres ahead of her in the river. Sebastian was helping to prop up a sleepy looking Serra, but at least her eyes where open now. Walking slowly towards them she spoke softly.
"Are you both ok?"
Sebastian nodded, a big smiled peeled across his face where fear had been last time they spoke. It was nice to see him calmer.
"And you Serra?"
She also nodded, it was obvious from the difficultly she seemed to be exhibiting that it would take a while for her to recover, yet being awake was a very good sign for her. To her surprise Serra started to speak. Her voice was shallow and gentle.
"I am fine now, thank you. You saved me and my brother."
"What is your name?"
Taken aback by her words she was momentarily stunned. Now that she thought about it she had saved her, but only because her brother had asked her to, otherwise she would have continued down the river unaware that she was there at all. What a tragedy that would have been, to have lost two beautiful foals to the fire of demons.
"It was my pleasure, think nothing of it little one. My name is Lehava. Strangely enough, it means Flames."
She looked to the forest, the rain had tackled with the flames and won, now there was a mixture of green and burnt trees. It wouldn’t take long for the life to grow again yet it was still a sad thing to see. A tragic thing, and on her first day of all days. She smiled softly, at least she knew this place would be full of adventure. Perhaps she should stay around for a while.
Her journey continues.

User name: LunaRei_SilverBlood Prompt: Foal Name: Rouge Heaven Foal: Lailah
Rouge looked around, as she reached the cross roads in the path. She had no idea where way to go… She was new to the area, and it difficult to determine what way was the right way, for her. She stomped her ruby foot on the ground and she sighed. But it was then that something caught her ear. With a twitch, she was able to tell it was coming from the right. She moved forward, and nudged away the brush. Her wings, folding back, so they didn’t get caught. She eyes peered down at a foal.
“Stupid branch..” She tugged on her leg, trying to get it free from the entanglement. She blinked and looked over at Rouge. “…What do you want?” She sneered. Looking almost impatient.
“Well, I had come to see what the noise was about… Would you like some help?” Rouge’s ruby form moved forward, to getting a look at what was around the foals leg.
“Well duh, do you think I’m hanging out here?” She snapped, moving to the larger horse see. Rouge’s head bent forward and she bit onto the vine, and she pushed her teeth together, and pulled breaking the thinking vine, and releasing the foal. She climbed away and out toward the path. “Thanks a lot lady.”
Rouge shrugged as she moved her herself out, and looked down at her. “I’m Lailah.” The foal insisted. “Could you help me?”
“I’m Rouge, and I guess I could.” Her wings, stretched out, feeling better then being clamped together. She didn’t know anyone in the area, and so turning this down could only cause her trouble… She followed the foal, who kept looking at her kind of funny. “I want that apple up there.” Lailah pointed with her nose. Rouge blinked, and nodded, leaning up, and easily knocking down the apple. “Well if that’s it, I should really be on my way…” This wasn’t really worth her time. She had gotten further off course…
“I need help with something else. Will you?” The foaled looked at the ruby horse sideways. And then trotted off down the path. Rouge followed after her.. unable to turn someone in need down it would seem. She sighed a little and caught up to the foal, who was staring out at a pack of other foals. “See them?” She looked up at Rouge. “They pick on me. Do something about it.”
Rouge looked out at them and then down at her. “Excuse little one… But I’m not some body guard or bouncer. I’m not here to do your bidding. I got you un stuck, but this is just ridiculous. Have some self confidence and tell them to leave you alone yourself.” Rouge sighed and turned around and went back on her way… Whether the foal knew it or not, she gave her some of the best help anyone could give… but what she did with it was another thing.

User Name: Kira of Flames Prompt: 2 Kirin: Huu-Yun Familiar: Bandie The term that best described the Kirin that stood on the slippery rocks in the bay would be ‘hoarder’. His name was Huu-yun and In his mind, anything that glittered and sparkled was a treasure meant to be kept by him and cherished. Taking a deep breath of the salty air, he looked up at the sky, wishing he could take the shimmering clouds and add them to his collection as well. “Eventually….” He spoke to himself, then turned and began walking along the coast line; he had treasures to get back to and check up upon.
Moving from the coast to a meadow, then finally to the foot of a mountain, Huu-yun looked around briefly to make sure no one was watching him, then used his tail to push aside a rather large bush. There, previously hidden by the thick flora, was an opening to a cave, and from deep within, there seemed to be a golden glow. Walking carefully through the tunnel, Huu-yun’s ears flickered; there was a strange scent in the normally earthy air, and that could only mean that there’d been an intruder. His eyes narrowed and his teeth clentched in anger at the thought that he’d been robbed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bandie, a caramel colored ferret, had been having a ball playing around in this new pace he’d found. He was so happy that he’d discovered this cave of mysterious treasures that he was completely oblivious to the soft clip-clopping of hooves as the large Kirin came closer. No, the little trouble maker was too busy playing with a golden ring with glittering orange gem. Easily, he slipped the ring through his paw and onto his wrist; with so many pretty sparkly stuff around, whoever it was that collected it surely wouldn’t miss one tiny ring.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Huu-yun could hear who ever it was scrounging around through his precious treasures. How DARE it scratch the beautiful, sparkling rarities he’d spent so much time collecting? Alright, maybe not everything in there was rare, but he had spent a good deal of time collecting everything there. Taking a deep breath, he puffed his chest out, trying to make himself as intimidating as possible, then he stepped out to confront the intruder.
“What do you think you’re doing?!” He demanded, seeing the furry little thing with his ring on its paw. “Put. It. Back.” He warned in a low, angry voice.
Bandie nearly jumped out of his fur when the Kirin barked the demand at him from behind. “Don’t hurt me!” He squeaked out, running and diving into small urn, then peeking out softly. “I- I’m sorry! I didn’t think that you’d notice something so small!”
Huu-yun blinked, then sighed, feeling absolutely guilty for the terror he clearly had just struck through the small animal. “I… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you so badly. How did you find my cave?”
Bandie watched the Kirin, trying to figure out what the creature was that stood before him. It wasn’t a skin waker, thankfully, since it didn’t have a pelt attached to his back. That didn’t mean that whatever he was, he wasn’t dangerous or wouldn’t kill the little ferret for trespassing and trying to steal from him. “I… I was running from a hawk that was hunting me when I dove into the bush in front and found this cave.” Carefully, he pulled the ring off and held it out to the Kirin.
The Kirin, however, shook his head. “No, keep it….” He gave the ferret a smile. “An apology for having scared you even more today. I’m Huu-yun, by the by.”
The ferret blinked, his eyes wide, then he grinned and put the ring back over his paw, wearing it like a bracelet. “Thank you so much!” Clambering out of the urn, Bandie ran up to Huu-yun. “I’m Bandie, and thank you so much again! I promise I’ll take really good care of the ring.” His ears twitched and he closed his eyes, his stomach grumbling. “I should go eat… Would it be ok if I came back sometime?”
Huu-yun was surprised by the request from the small creature for him to return. Slowly the Kirin nodded. “S-sure. You may return here anytime you feel like it.” Giving his new friend one last bid farewell, he watched the small creature scamper out of the cave and into the wild. What a strange day it had been....

Prompt for the Ruby Angeni You've just arrived in this new land, and already you've run across a problem. During your travel, you spot a young foal in distress. What situation have they gotten themselves into? Are they hurt? Lost? And, what do you do about it? Do you ignore the foal? Help them? WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT IT? Name: Rutile (a mineral that had a needle-like quality that is found in rubies and other gemstones. Sometimes called "silk") A flutter of wings was the only noise to announce her coming as she settled onto the ground. The sun was high in the sky and the mare marked it as midday. She closed her faceted eyes slowly, breathing in the new scents all around her. The grass was cool beneath her and the breeze slight and unobtrusive. She slowly drifted into calmness, soaking in the sensations of this new land, a wide smile playing about her face. It was peaceful here and Rutile began to sink into reverie.
A shriek as horrible as any she'd heard ripped through the peace she had settled into and brought her violently out of her daydreams. She glanced about frantically, trying to find the source of the scream. There were so many rocks and trees around her that she could hardly see anything around her. She took to the sky, her four crimson wings working swiftly and in perfect concert to lift her into the nearly-still air. Her many-faceted eyes scanned the area methodically, the sound of distress echoing up to her ears from many directions. She was too high to trust her ears, but her eyes were infallible. She located a small shadow amongst the rocks and descended immediately.
She landed harder than she had intended in her rush to come to the small creature's aid and nearly stumbled into the rocks that the foal was trapped between. Rutile recovered herself and began pushing on one of the rocks that was trapping the young soquili. The foal sniffled and cried out, but was calming as she noticed the rocks beginning to loosen their hold on her as the red angel worked at them. It was mere moments before the foal has wriggled out, tumbling to the ground. Panting, Rutile bowed her head to catch her breath, shaking off the dirt and bits of rock that had coated her wings and mane. She looked over at the foal with concern. "Are you ok?" Rutile paused, her breath caught in her throat. She rose her head slowly, examining the now fully visible foal.
The young filly gathered her strength and stood to face the angel that had saved her, smiling at her gratefully. Rutile merely stared, at a loss as to what to do. The foal had a pointed tail and demon's wings that Rutile had not noticed in her hast to help the poor child. The angeni ground her front hoof into the dirt as she tried to determine the best course of action. She'd never been in this particular land before, but she had heard of the demons, the Kalona, that pillaged and caused pain and havoc. This was clearly one of their young, left to fend for itself in the wild.
Rutile glanced about nervously, wondering if the foal had not, in fact, been abandoned. "Where are your parents," she asked, her voice devoid of emotion. The foal looked at her curiously, not comprehending the angel's sudden coldness. "I am alone," she replied with a frown, "My family is dead." The foal's eyes welled with tears and she sniffled. "I am Adelaide," she muttered through her tears, "Pleased to meet you." It was obviously a greeting she had been taught, probably from a kind mother Rutile reasoned. Her sparkling eyes softened and she approached the little filly, nuzzling her comfortingly. "What happened," she asked softly, wrapping her wings around the trembling child.
"I am different." Adelaide offered it as a statement and paused in her explanation. Rutile nudged her gently, encouraging her to go on. Adelaide heaved a sigh that was heavy with guilt. Rutile's heart ached that such a small creature should be weighed down by something so terrible. "I have the devil's wings, they said," the filly continued, "I am a freak, a wicked thing. They were mean to my mommy." Tears rolled down the small foal's face and her words were lost in her sobs. Rutile nuzzled her, tightening her wing's embrace. "It's ok, you're with me now," she soothed, "no one will get you with me." Adelaide looked up with large eyes at the angel beside her. "They killed her and sent me away." She broke into uncontrollable sobs and Rutile was at a loss.
The angeni could not leave the defenseless foal out here to be hunted by those she trusted. It was obvious that Adelaide was the victim of Fate, a halfling in an unforgiving world. If left out here the foal would die, or worse to the angeni's mind, she would learn to survive only for thoughts of vengeance against those that harmed her. The crimson mare couldn't allow such a thing to pass. She felt there was still hope for the halfling's redemption and if she could keep the demon out of Adelaide's heart she could live in peace.
Rutile let the foal cry out her pain for a long time before turning her faceted eyes upon her. "I am Rutile. I'll be your mother from now on, little one. I will teach you the ways of forgiveness."

User Name: Kira of Flames Prompt: 1 Angeni: Serena Foal: Deegan Serena drifted easily through the sky, her wings fully outstretched as she landed on the soft, grassy fields of the meadow. She was a little tired from having flown so far in one day, but decided that a rest would be good. She gave a soft sigh, a portion of her feeling a bit guilty for having left a small foal, one that was probably fresh from the basket, alone by himself. ‘The little p***k deserved it though…’ She though bitterly to herself, trying to push down the guilt bubbling up in her that was conveniently accompanied by an urge to fly off back to check on the little foal.
‘Yes, he did call you an old hag, but he’s still just a child…’ The gentle voice of her conscious spoke up to her inside her head. ‘And he’s smaller then most colts, he’s probably in great need of an Adult’s protection.’
Giving a heavy sigh, Serena stretched out her wings. “Fine fine, I’ll go check on the ungrateful little brat…. I’m never going to have kids, I swear.” She muttered as she took to the sky grudgingly; she was still bitter over being called an ‘old hag’… she was [1]not[/1] old. Her jewelry jingled as the wind whipped around her, and her long mane and tail brushed back behind her, shimmering healthily in the sunlight. Retracing her flight over the forest back to the clearing where she’d met the small colt earlier, her stomach took a sudden dive.
There, in the clearing, the colt was now struggling for his life as a pack of wolves clawed and tore their teeth into him. They had taken advantage of the weak little colt being alone and had moved quickly to surround him. Taking the small thing down was going to be relatively easy, a few bites to the throat and slashing of the claws and the young thing would fall pray to them. The yells of pain and cries of fear begging for help was more than enough to bring the waves of guilt crashing over Serena and, without a moment’s hesitation to think about her own safety, she dove down at the wolves. Her hooves pawing a bit at the air, she brought one of them down with a sharp crack, smacking one wolf on the head and dropping the creature to the ground.
Instantly, the other wolves stopped, looking to see what caused their comrade to fall. Seeing the full grown Angeni there, their fur raised and they snarled and growled, showing off their teeth; they weren’t about ready to let go of their pray just yet. They began to circle around the Angeni, trying to intimidate the female.
This mare, however, wasn’t one to be intimidated easily, and the scent of the colt’s blood in the air only drove her instincts to protect the small, frail thing farther. Rearing up on her hind legs and kicking out her front hooves, she hit the ground and tore after the nearest wolf. Without a chance to move out of the way, however, two of the wolves lept onto her back, their claws tearing into her flesh. “AH!” She let out a cry of pain, then used her wings to slap off the carnivorous animals. Looking them over again, she picked out the largest wolf there and decided that this one was more than likely the alpha of the pack.
Movement from the corner of her eye caught her attention and she saw that the colt was trying to get himself up. “Stay down and don’t move much.” She was able to catch his eyes with hers and she gave him a reassuring smile, then turned her complete focus to the wolves. She had to figure out how to take down the alpha without the rest of the pack bringing her down. Her thoughts where cut short at the sharp howl that came from the Alpha and the appearance of more wolves; she needed to get these predators away from the colt and she needed to do it now.
Spreading her wings, she leapt up into the air, catching the breeze with her wings to give her jump a little more height. Tucking her wings back into her body, she aimed her full self at the pack alpha in a sharp dive. The alpha nimbly leapt to the side, but before he could regain his footing, Serena had kicked out powerfully with her hind legs, catching the wolf in the ribs. Cracks could be heard about the painful yelp of the wolf as several ribs broke, and once the wolf crashed into the ground, he didn’t rise again.
Quickly, Serena made her way to the colt’s side as the pack of wolves dispersed, leaving the alpha on the ground. Gently she nuzzled the small colt. “Not so much of an old hag no, am I...?” She smirked a little to the kid, knowing that he recognized her.
The colt blushed a little and looked away in shame. “I….” He winced a little, the wounds on him stinging. “I’m sorry…”
Serena chuckled softly and looked over him, checking over his injuries. “Your bleeding has stopped it looks like. Where are your parents? I’m sure they’re worried about you…” She used a wing to help the colt up to his feet. “What’s your name?”
The colt was a regular soquili, and, though he was shaking a little while on his feet, he was keeping himself up without having to lean too much on Serena. “I’m Deegan, and I don’t know where my parents are. I got lost from them in the fore-“
“DEEGAN!” The voice cut through the air and another mare rushed into the clearing, her eyes full of worry and concern. “There you are. My god, what happened to you?!”
“Mom!” Deegan’s face lit up with a brilliant smile and he stumbled his way over to the second mare.
Serena smiled, feeling her heart warm at the reunion that was taking place in front of her. Giving Deegan a nod with her head, she turned her attention to the mare. “He was attacked by a wolf pack. If I may make a suggestion, move from this area before the come back and then take care of your little one’s wounds.” That having been said, she spread her wings and took to the air again. The sun was beginning to set and she needed to find a place to rest for the night.
Landing an hour later in a meadow, she took the time to look over herself; she felt sore and tired, and upon closer inspection the feathers on her wings were now in poor condition from having fought off the wolves and there were cuts all over her hide. Giving a groan of exhaustion, she gently nuzzled her wings, trying to fix some of the feathers, then plunked down in the grasses to get some sleep. She was going to feel that fight in the morning, she was sure of it.

My entry for the ruby angeni!
User name: Roniel Revenge Angeni's name: Tatiana
--------
The rain pattered down. It wet through Tatiana’s mane until it was hanging in stringy strands along either side of her face. Her shorter fur had long since been wet to soaking and even her feathers were feeling heavy and damp.
What a day to have chosen not to fly.
When it had first started sprinkling she assumed that it was a passing late summer shower. By the time the small sprinkles had turned into pelting sheets it was too late to safely get aloft and over the clouds. Now she was trapped. Grounded like any other mare. Without any other option she kept walking. The sound of one hoof stepping in front of the other was punctuation to her thoughts. Ahead of her she could hear the roar of a river. Crossing that would be problematic. She expected to have to-
What was that? She stopped and pricked her ears up. She thought she had heard something else over the sounds of the storm. Had it just been the howling of wind?
No. There it was again. It was the weakest of calls but she was certain she heard it clearly this time. It was coming... from the rain-swollen river ahead of her. Though Tatiana was filled with dread of what might be ahead of her she quickened her pace to the edge of the ravine that housed the flowing water.
Down below her was a foal. She was clinging to the bank with her two front hooves dug deep into the mud but that was as far as she could go. Tatiana could see how the water had pulled her back legs out from under her and how it threatened to pull her from her tenuous grip on land. Seeing her, the foal gave out another cry. “Help! Please! Help me!”
Though she still felt half-frozen with shock the cry was enough to set Tatiana in motion. She spread her wings to dive down to the trapped foal but she underestimated the force of the winds that were blowing with the storm. As soon as her four wings were spread the wind caught them and sent her staggering and tumbling down the ravine herself. Her hooves lost their purchase and she slammed sideways into the steep mud and slid downwards until she too was immersed in the raging waters.
For one terrifying moment her head went under. Her eyes squeezed shut as her heart pounded within her and all she could do was try to stand... try to get her hooves beneath her and her head above water. Though it was only an instant before she did it seemed like an eternity of breathless entrapment. She burst through the surface of the water not far from the foal and her height allowed her to take slow and dragging steps towards her.
“I’m coming! Stay there!” She choked on inhaled water as she shouted and almost became doubled over with coughing. Somehow she managed to keep herself moving forward until she was beside the struggling foal. The water was not nearly so deep for her but the mud beneath it still made maneuvering difficult. She gave the foal an unsuccessful push with her flank before realizing that she’d have to resort to something far less graceful.
With her mane so tangled in her face that she almost couldn’t see, Tatiana leaned down over the foal. She seized the foal’s own mane in her teeth and gave it a sharp heave. The foal cried out and Tatiana didn’t know whether it was from fear or from the pain at the tugging but she did not let go. One sharp pull brought the foal out of the water onto the muddy bank and another started her scrabbling upwards.
It was only barely that they managed to climb out of the steep and muddy ravine. Tatiana ended up having to spread her wings again, risking the howling winds. It was by flapping all four of her wings in unison that she was able to give them the extra push to get up and out. When she finally felt grass beneath her she dropped the foal’s mane and staggered to her knees. Her breathing came in short gasps and beside her the foal was doing the same.
They had survived. They had both somehow survived that. She shut her eyes and felt herself calm. It was over.
“Thank you,” sobbed the exhausted foal beside her. “Thank you so much! Thank you!”
“You’re welcome,” was all that she replied. She was too tired to say anything else. This was the day she had chosen not to fly... and she thought she understood the reason now.

Ruby Angeni Prompt:You've just arrived in this new land, and already you've run across a problem. During your travel, you spot a young foal in distress. What situation have they gotten themselves into? Are they hurt? Lost? And, what do you do about it? Do you ignore the foal? Help them? WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT IT?
Angeni Name: Hoai-Duyen (“always/eternal Charm and grace”) Foal –for the sake of the prompt the foal will be a wind, called Huy-Nhi (“glorious little one”) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hoai-Dunyen shook out her mane. The weight she often bore in the land she was born in, among a proud herd had disappeared. Everyone there was almost the same. Suffering under the delusion of their superiority and perfection. Looking on those not of their race as inferior and not worthy of any real protection or notice. But that was wrong. They were created to guard and protect. They had become little more than the Kalona they so hated. Why couldn’t her herd understand that?
It was in her nature to guide, to protect and shelter those who needed it. And amongst her herd there was no need for her brand of care and compassion, so she left. Leaving the Heavens to which others could only aspire, so she could go where she had a purpose was one of the easiest and hardest things that she had ever done, but so far, in her life, it was the most rewarding.
She had been walking along the base of the mountains, searching, ignoring the rain which was falling steadily when she first felt it. A wave of malevolence so strong it nearly took her breath away. And along with it, a thread of fear. Turning around to follow the emotions to wheresoever they led, she felt whole. There was someone in need. Here was a chance for her to do what was intended for her race all along.
Had she needed to follow her sight or her ears, it was unlikely that she would be able to find who so desperately needed her. She was lucky that she was empathic and could follow the emotions to their source. The malevolence had started to fade, but the stark terror still remained. She only hoped that she wasn’t too late, that the fear was the last emotion the creature- a foal, she noted absently-had felt.
The sight she stumbled upon was horrifying. Two Soquili mangled so horribly that it was impossible to tell gender or race. That they had been attacked, with no intent beyond that to see bloodshed, was the strongest emotion that had left its mark on this place. Her sides heaved as she struggled vainly to hold the contents of her stomach in place. This cruelty was unspeakable. Steeling herself, she looked around the clearing once more to imprint the image forever on her memory. The creature who had caused this would pay, and dearly.
All life is sacred, and for anyone to take it, and so horribly… Hoai needed to see justice done for the lives she couldn’t save. She heard a faint rustling in the bushes just along the edge of the clearing. She had been so distracted and disgusted by the carnage around that she had completely missed another presence. She felt out cautiously with her abilities. The foal. It was still alive. She walked slowly towards the bushes, spreading her wings out and lowering her head, hoping to show that she meant no harm.
A small head rose, little at a time, ready to pull back and dash if the presence was unfriendly.
“It’s alright Huy-Nhi. The scary creature is gone.”
The foal looked warily at her before looking around. She stilled trying to send out a soothing aura to make the foal more comfortable. He noticed the mangled bodies in the clearing. His parents, he cried. Wobbling out of the bushes, he lurched unsteadily to the corpses. He was so young, he couldn’t have left his basket more than a few days ago.
Hoai was uneasy. Yes, she knew she had to protect this little one, and any innocents who needed her, but she hadn’t realized she would have to adopt someone so soon after arriving in the Kawani lands. She didn’t have anyplace to stay for herself, let alone a foal. Besides that, she was too young. There was no way she was ready to be a mom just yet.
The foal turned his beautiful sapphire blue eyes on her, and in that moment, all her reasons and justifications for not taking him melted away. Here was someone who needed her. Someone who had just lost all that was important in his world. She couldn’t, in all conscious just leave him alone. He would likely die. She couldn’t live with herself if that happened. So she had even more reason now to seek justice. And it was a beautiful, leggy colt with jeweled eyes and feathered wings similar to her own. Even if it was just one set.
She walked over to the trembling colt and lay a wing carefully over his shoulder.
“It’s alright Huy-Nhi. They’re in a better place. It’s ok to cry. I’m here. I’ll take care of you.”

Angeni's Name: Mitsukai (Angel in Japanese) Reply:
Mitsukai flew over the low waterless valley searching for something to do on this beautiful morning. There wasn't a single sound that could be heard for miles except the gentle wind whistling past Mitsukai's wings. Her brilliant eyes scanned the valley hoping for something that would catch her gaze. There was a small black and magenta shape lying on the empty valley and Mitsuakai's was instantly diving down splitting the calm winds into two.
Slower and slower Mitsukai went as she landed. The black and magenta shape was a foal. A delicate little female with two wings much like Mitsukai herself. The female was splayed on the ground and currently motionless. Mitsukai ran over to the female and sniffed her cautiously. She was still alive for Mitsukai saw the small rise and fall of her chest. Relief flooded over her and she poked at the foal with one of her hooves.
The female's eyes opened and she stared at Mitsukai carefully through one eye. She didn't know whether to be afraid or relieved by this strange angel like soquili. Either way she was in no condition to escape. "What do you want?" She asked hoarsely trying to sit up a little.
Mitsukai's eyes shone with relief and joy as the female sat up a little. She really didn't want anything nor did she know why she was here in the first place. "Are you ok?" She asked slowly. By the looks of it this female was in horrible condition, but she had to also care not to injure her pride by instantly assessing that she was in horrible condition. She smiled a little trying to show this female that she could be trusted.
The female still stared at Mitsukai cautiously. Part of her just wanted to explode to this strange soquili all of her dramas and everything else. "No I'm not ok." She replied bitterly. Slowly she stood up and wobbled a little on her feet. She was still a little unsteady. One of her wings that had recently scabbed over started bleeding again from the sudden movement and she flinched.
Mitsukai felt sympathy for this little female. She was so badly injured and yet her pride wouldn't allow her to submit to that completely. "Stay right here" She said in a soft angelic tone as if she were singing. She turned around and ran. Her eyes narrowed as she covered meters upon meters within seconds. There was one thing she was looking for now. Cobwebs. Moments passed and still no luck. Just when Mistsukai was ready to give up she saw the precious web hanging in a small tree. She untangled it and raced back to where the female was.
Her eyes were in shock as she watched Mitsukai race off. This horse had such great speed. A few moments later she spotted Mitsukai running back already with some cobwebs in her mouth. The truth hit her hard as she realized that not everyone was as cruel and evil as she imagined.
Mitsukai gently wrapped the cobwebs around the bleeding parts of the female's wings. They looked too bad for just a crash. Was this female in a fight before Mitsukai had gotten here? "What happened young one?" She asked softly.
"I was in a fight. A fight for land." The female responded looking into the distance. "These kalonas attacked from no where and took away my home."
Mitsukai felt so moved by what she had said. Normally she would've been crying by now, but she kept strong and let a little smile fall in. "I'm so sorry." She replied. "If you like, you can stay at my place tonight."
Gratitude flooded in her eyes for the first time as she stared at Mitsukai. "If... If you'd let me." She replied, still somewhat in shock.
Mitsukai smiled. "Well, since we'll be staying together tonight I should probably tell you my name. It's Mitsukai." She said with a smile and started bending down for the other female to get on.
She smiled warmly at Mitsukai and hoped on her back. The moment she was on Mitsukai soared to the sky. "Mine's Claire." She replied as they flew forward. Together.

I had to try at the least :3 Prompt for the Ruby Angeni You've just arrived in this new land, and already you've run across a problem. During your travel, you spot a young foal in distress. What situation have they gotten themselves into? Are they hurt? Lost? And, what do you do about it? Do you ignore the foal? Help them? WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT IT? Nootau inhaled the crisp morning air, marveling at the exquisite scents surrounding her. She hadn't a single regret since journeying to these parts. That wasn't saying much, of course, for she had only been here since yesterday's sunset. Just thinking of how the sun painted the sky in shades of scarlet and tangerine made her wings flutter. It was peaceful here. Finally, the mare had her serene solitude.
"Hi there!" A rather high pitched voice shrilled, breaking Nootau's tranquil atmosphere as a hoof would break thin ice upon a lake in the winter. She turned about and began walking in the opposite direction, refusing to confront whoever or whatever it was. Unfortunately for her, the other entity kept persistently nagging her, "Would you mind helping me, miss?" Surprisingly, the voice was closer than she imagined it would be. She picked up her pace, keeping her unconcerned demeanor. This was her day. It was going to be perfect.
After a hesitant interval, the voice rang out once more, "Miss?"
That's done it. The now furious mare came to a halt, turning with an accusing wrath about her, her nostrils flaring. The trembling shape before her was that of a young filly, gazing up at her with wide hazel eyes. The filly stuttered out something that sounded like an apology, only muffled by her shock. Nootau stood there glaring at her for a short moment, shocked as the filly herself. Then she rolled her crimson eyes, her rage cooling down, "What is it, kid?" She despised younglings.
"Well, you see..." Stuttering, the filly struggled for words.
"Do not stall my time. If you have something to ask of me, do it now, would you?" The mare cared none for this filly, as should have been obvious from the beginning. Even she, however, could not obliviously ignore the look on the young one's face. Her brows rose in sympathy, something new for her, "Now, really, what's eatin' you?"
The young filly, instantly taking note of the mare's change of tone, whinnied lightly and smiled, "Oh, thank you miss! This means a lot to me, really!" Then, realizing that she'd left an opening for her 'companion' to object, decided to spill out her predicament. "You see... I was playing, running around in the forest, alone," Her face fell as she uttered the last word. "I was having fun, though! And as I frolicked about, my mother's circlet seemed to have... Fallen off..."
Nootau cocked her head, now curious. Circlets were pretty little trinkets, that they were, but never were such objects hard to obtain, "What's so special about a flimsy old tiara and why would you need me to find it?" She found that this wasn't the best way to inquire what value it had to the filly, but the words were already spoken. The filly's expression was murderous to the mare, one that crumpled up with genuine sorrow.
"It was my late mother's... I just thought... With your wings..."
The mare knew that it were her mother's, the filly had mentioned it before. But now the pieces began to fall into place in Nootau's head. The filly was still needy, but perhaps she was the only one that could truly help her within the proximity of the forest. "I'll help you find it, then!" She declared, even though the activity would be strenuous at the least and most likely prove futile. However, the child's now beaming face lit up her own. She found that solitude and inner peace were nothing compared to the feeling she got out of aiding another. Even if they did not find the lost article, at least their alliance would remain intact. And on that thought, they trod off to face their challenge together.

Prompt: 1 Name: Roslynn Foal: Sengdroma (From my herd, she's mute. Her image is adult, but she hasn't reached that stage IC yet.) Quote: You've just arrived in this new land, and already you've run across a problem. During your travel, you spot a young foal in distress. What situation have they gotten themselves into? Are they hurt? Lost? And, what do you do about it? Do you ignore the foal? Help them? WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT IT? It was sunny, hot, and miserable out. Roslynn didn't understand why other soquili enjoyed being out in such weather. It caused her to sweat, and that, was just unacceptable to her. Her fine coat would become sweaty, covered in foam and filth as she walked along. The heat caused her to become exhausted, so tired that she could no longer carry her tail high enough to keep from dragging the ground, capturing dirt and other debris as she moved along. "Miserable..." she mumbled to herself as she tried to find solace in the shade of the forest.
She tucked all of her wings in close to her body, not wanting them to be tarnished by contaminants. She wanted to them to stay prestine and dirt free. Her philosophy on life, You never know when you might happen upon a gorgeous stallion who would want to woo you.
Roslynn was a very vain soquili if one couldn't tell. She thought her place was somewhere in the upper ranks of soquili. Her coat was always shiney, and her jewels sparkling. She didn't dare walk through mud, or near any bushes that could leave behind traces of their bark or leaves on her coat. She had done it now. Sengdroma had wandered too far from her parent's side, and now she was in a load of trouble. She had been exploring close to the river, not realizing that the water's edge was dangerous in some places. The mud had seemed sturdy enough when she first started. She soon found herself encompassed by the sticky substance, up past her knees and she couldn't make her way out. Try as she might, the young filly was stuck. In a panic, the normally silent foal began to sqeal in a panic, hopeing that someone...anyone would hear her and come to her aid. Ears pivoted as the sound of panic crossed her ears, Roslynn stopped. The decibel of the cries lead her to believe it was a foal calling out and not an older soquili. She kept walking, surely there was another adult in the area that would help the kid? After taking a few more paces while listening to the calls, Roslynn took a deep breath and sighed. "I could at least, take a look..." she said to herself. Maybe it wouldn't be anything too dramatic?
Following the sound of the bellows, Roslynn soon found herself face to face with one of her worst enemies, Mud. Peering over the situation, Roslynn saw the small framed filly, up past her belly now in the horrible substance. "You've got to be joking.." she said more to herself than the foal. "Why did you go way out there?" Sengdroma's ears perked as she heard the voice of a female, her eyes locking on to the vibrant red figure standing at the edge of the mud. Her eyes pleading for help, her whinies even higher in pitch as the panic began to over whelm her. She did her best to buck and fight the hold that the mud had on her, but the pressure of her hooves in the mud seemed to cause suction beneath the surface that wouldn't let the small filly go. Again, she 'called' out to the older female for help."What? You can't talk? I should leave you there if you can't answer!" Roslynn almost seemed to mock the poor foal. She wanted to help, truely she did...but...mud? Really?
Roslynn paced back and forth at the edge, she couldn't think of a way to ge the filly out without getting dirty. She could use her wings and hover above the filly, but that still gave her no way to get the poor girl out. She was going to have to get dirty if she wasn't going to leave the filly there. She gave a disgusted sigh. "Hold on..."
Roslynn made her way back into the nearby forest, snapping a decent sized vine from a tree. The foal would have to hold on tight, but Roslynn thought she'd be able to pull her free. She quickly made her way back, she had told herself that she would just charge out into the murky territory, but she came to a skidding stop just before her hooves hit the muck. She snorted. Sengroma had calmed momentarily as the angeni had been speaking to her, she again set into panic when the adult told her to hold on and left her eye sight. Surely she would come back? Surely she would help? Jerking her small body in all directions, Sengdroma didn't realize that the more she fought, the deeper and deeper into the sink hole she became. Finally, she saw the vibrant red coat reappearing from the forest, a long vine dragging along beside her. Brilliant!"You owe me...You SO owe me..." Roslynn called out to the foal. With a stutter step, Roslynn closed her eyes tightly and jumped out into the sink hole, vine clenched in her teeth. "Oh, My, Gods!" she screamed, vine still between her teeth, as the mud splashed up on her beatiful coat and her face. She dare not even look back at her precious wings. Luckly, the mud wasn't near as deep on her as it was the foal, she struggled, but she made her way to the filly. "Here." she demanded, thrusting the vine toward the girl, "Here! Grab this."
Once the foal had taken the vine in her mouth, Roslynn mumbled, "Hold tightly, and work with me...." she still could not believe what she was doing. She felt...so...filthy.
Slowly, Roslynn began to back out of the hole, the small filly struggling, slowly began to reach the shallow sides and eventually made her way free from the danger. Once they were both freed, Roslynn dropped the vine, her eyes crossing as she focused on the splotches of mud at the end of her nose, "Oh great..." she muttered as she then looked to her once polished hooves, now covered with disgusting dirt and grime.Taking a few moments, Sengdroma dropped the vine once she was sure she was safe, drawing in deep breaths, thankful for the red mare. Her eyes locked onto her hero, her small legs, though tired, slowly moved her close to the mare. Sengdroma almost seemed to throw herself into the side of the mare, nuzzling her with great appreciation and thanks.Roslynn had been so caught up in her damaged looks that she hadn't seen the foal coming closer. She jumped slightly as the foal began to...thank her? Questioning eyes looked at the foal for a moment, then a smile crossed Roslynn's face. For only a moment, she forgot how disgraceful she looked, she was proud that she had free'd a trapped filly. Only, for that moment, she didn't care how dirty she was...she knew she was beautiful to that child.

Prompt: Tiger's Eye Kirin
Chimalsi had always held an appreciation for the finer things in life, fancying himself a collector of sorts as he went to great lengths when augmenting a growing hoard. He surveyed it daily, taking the time to sort through the piles of stones, metals, and miscellanea. There were twisted lengths of brass and bits of thread woven with spider silk; ungainly buffalo shapes that stood stoic in their carven turquoise states, and obsidian arrowheads holding volcanic dreams with the afterimage of a painless kill reflected in biting, translucent edges. The bearded Kirin had beads that caught the sunlight and created puddles of makeshift fire when set out on pitted boulders, feathers from the wings of birds he'd never cared to learn the names of, shells from a faraway sea, the waters of which he’d tried to carry back to his cavernous home by the mouthful, never quite succeeding. All of it his and his alone, his burden and his joy, a constant companion that seemed to live and breathe honeyed secrets inside his ear as he slept in the shadows of an alcove, lulled by the gleam.
It was true that he sometimes exaggerated or misunderstood the origins of his prizes, taking water-polished pebbles from the banks and somehow knowing that a tricky river spirit had left them just for him. But he was wise enough to realize that the natives were the ones that dropped a variety of baubles out on the road when they traveled, constantly moving and abandoning treasures, stomping them in the soft soil so that he could gleefully dig them out. Using hoof and teeth alike, he extracted the valuables with an archeologist's devotion, the curving horn that sat proudly upon his brow subjected to the common act of creating chasms in dirt, reduced to an implement not unlike a boar's tusks as he rooted around for shimmering sustenance. He craved beauty, yearned for the untarnished, the flawless, something that could not be eradicated in the blink of an eye and on a whim. He wanted immortality, and this was the way to obtain it. He would not be told differently.
One day, he knew, the gathering would be done and he could simply lay in bliss while the trove spoke to him, praised him, adored him with jeweled eyes and stroked with gold fingers. Working in concert, the many would become the one and he could be happy forever in its luminous embrace. Such was the thought that kept his mood buoyant and made him pleasant, if a bit remote from others. He did not care for company, sought out no one and called none friend; it was only the cache that he loved. Nothing else was better suited to him or his unique needs, and he would not take the time to discover otherwise.
After a long evening of searching and finding nothing worthy of his cause, the tawny Soquili had elected to return to his dwelling, silently fearing the inevitable rebuke that would arrive from the precious mound at his evident failure. His hooves carried him slowly forward, ears laid back while the muscles working beneath his skin caused the swirled majesty of his legs and belly to quiver with an unspent wealth of reluctance.
Then a sound, soft and compelling as it found purchase in his attention, gave the Kirin pause enough to listen for the source, not wishing to be trailed back to where he spent his nights. The noise came again while he stood stock-still in the twilight, followed by a dull clang that the stallion realized with dawning horror came from inside the yawning mouth of his grotto. Embarrassment was superseded by a stronger plea, and he surged forward in a great heave of aureate power and armored plating, his hooves sparking to lead the way. Down, down, into the dark throat of the cave, and the invader's breath was still somehow audible above it all. What was it? Why was it here? What did it want? Something darker than upset lay coiled like a serpent in his stomach as he turned a corner and found the perpetrator, a small, furry creature that quick thought told him was little more than a ferret.
The mammal glanced up curiously when Chimalsi's large frame filled the threshold, seemingly unbothered by the greater beast's appearance as it turned over a flattened piece of mirror-like substance in its grubby paws, turning its snout into profile and observing the echo of movement with admiration. "Hello there, scale-butt." It greeted him amiably, the voice unmistakably male. "I was wondering when the owner of all this'd show. You've got a lot of junk down here, you know?"
The Soquili made no immediate answer, rendered speechless even as the hateful thing inside him began to grow, the nuances that he recognized and attributed to being wholly Chimalsi shoved aside for this new entity. Seeing the lithe figure splayed across his monument to undying, his dear, wonderful hoard, made the twinkling radiance seem somehow lessened. The ferret was a thief, a brigand come to take the splendor away from him. It had already disposed of something, stolen it and hidden it away - it had already ruined everything.
The gentle glow of his eyes was suddenly upended in a violent sea of scarlet, and he rose back onto his hind legs with a scream that shook the stalactites above, thrashing in a blur of corrugated gold. There was a hushed cry of surprise even as he felt his feet come down, lightning tinged with a snake's winding form as he smashed again and again, half-mad in an instant of vexation. Crack. He heard shells shatter, beads fly apart, tumbling down into the dark crevasses of nothing. Crack. There was the buffalo lying in ruins, its great humped back separated from its lower half like the arrowhead that had never found it. Crack. And there was the prone figure of the ferret, finally driven into the ground by a devastating blow, its tiny paws caught up in the weave of loose fibers that were slowly turning red.
He stopped, panting and feeling damp heat splattered across his forelegs and chest. The pile was in shambles, all of his carefully arranged dedication now a heap of broken fealty. There were garnet crusts forming in rusted patterns on some of the shells that surrounded the tiny body at his feet like a funeral party, and he knew then that he had not simply made it go away, leave him and his beauties in peace. He had made it quiet, made it still; he had made it stop.
The voice that had spoken to him every night, had vowed love to him the closer he came to its completion, was gone. The dream was as dead as innocence, demolished by his own hooves, immolated by the spark of a rare and potent anger. And all around him were the rubies he might never have found, tainting what whole pieces remained.

Quote: You were born with the desire for shiny things. RP Notes: Soquili's Name: Borka Familar is: Bear Familar's name: Kabili -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The striped Kirin dug his hoof deeper into the mud, as rain poured down from the skies and over his yellow-brown back. His leg muscles hurt from digging but the sudden glint of something drove him on. Borka had to have this stone.
Another scoop of mud, he could see part of a red stone. Ruby perhaps? He grumbled as the rain forced more mud into the hole then he could scoop out. Again, he was driven on by another glint, though this time it was gold. Another flick of mud and Borka realized that some careless soquili had dropped what was probably their most prize position and had never found it again. But Borka was an expert at finding precious stones, lost jewellery or anything shiny for that matter. His whole life revolved around things that were shiny, glittering in the sunlight. The Kirin’s whole cave, who’s entrance was hidden well by thick forest trees, was a giant organized jewellery box. He had treasures from far and wide, of all shapes and sizes. And he was in love with each and every one.
This time Borka dipped his head down into the hole, scrapping at the sides with his horn to give his legs a moment of rest. When he lifted his head again, mud smeared down his long face, a rather large trinket on a golden chain was hooked on his horn.
Finally! The hard work had paid off, Borka smiled as he stared at the necklace dangling from his head. A large red ruby was centered in a gold star, dangling on a thick gold chain. From it, Borka gathered that it must belong to a stallion. Well, it used to belong to a stallion anyway. Now it was belonged to the Kirin. Borka stared at his new piece of treasure, rain washing away the mud, with an obsessive craving in his golden eyes.
As he made his way back, Borka tore his eyes away from the gem long enough to catch a glimpse of himself in a puddle. He gave a look of disgust, mud smeared up his legs and all over his face. He almost gasped, seeing that the large golden necklaces he wore daily no longer shone because of the mud. Luckily, a stream was just up a head.
Borka hooked his new treasure securely to a tree, before stepping into the chilled river and lying down in it. It was moving quite fast, from the heavy rain of the day and it didn’t take long to rinse the Kirin of imperfections. When he stood again, Borka was cold but clean and looking down, his own necklaces shone again.
Hooking the ruby on his horn again, it wasn’t long before Borka’s hooves sunk into familiar sand of the way home. Looking nervously side to side, making sure that no one was watching or had followed him, Borka pushed the large branches of a pine tree aside, revealing a rather small entry to his cave. The entrance barely allowed Borka himself to squeeze through, having to duck down a bit to avoid bumping his head. But once inside, the cave opened up and allowed the Kirin to stand freely.
The inside of the cave was lavishly decorated, with all of Borka’s finds. Some pieces hung on walls, others lay in neat piles on the floor. The stallion wasn’t impressed with how it looked right now. Because of the cloud cover outside, the sun could not make the room glow. In one corner, a pool of water contained the outside rain as it dripped from a angled hole in the ceiling. When it wasn’t raining, the sunlight would stream through this hole and bounce off the beautiful gems, causing the room to resemble a colourful version of the starry night. Borka placed the newest gem into a pile, he would sort it later. Right now his bones ached and he was chilled from the rain outside.
The kirin was about to settle down when a soft clinking noise caught his attention. His ears perked up and he snorted softly. Who could have found His cave...and how Dare they enter! With angry eyes, Borka preceded to the west end of the cave. He scanned each area carefully, before he spotted what he was looking for. A large red, furry mass had its back turned to the Kirin. Kabili was busy concentrating on going through the pile of green gems, ignoring anything else that going on around him. What a lucky find! The bear had merely been searching for berries, his tummy unable to wait for the rain to stop and he had stumbled across a cave filled with hordes of shiny objects.
A soft breeze blew that tingled the hairs on the back of his neck. It was a warm breeze, and Kabili thought that maybe the sun had finally come out. Turning around, the bear gasped. He was now staring into a pair of golden eyes, that belonged to a very angry looking soquili. Kabili also noted that this very angry soquili, had a very sharp horn and he became very nervous. But who was this horse? Who was he to try and take Kabili’s stones? The bear had found them first, after all and he was entitled to ‘Finder’s Keepers”. Puffing up his chest, Kabili snorted and growled “My precious!” The words only made Borka angrier, snorting in the bear’s face. “ Your precious? I don’t think so. I’ve spent years hunting, collecting and organizing each thing you see here. They are all mine, and I won’t be giving any up to the likes a bear!” The stallion growled, taking a step forward and lowering his horn to the bear’s eye level. “ Now get out, or you will no longer get to live.” Borka said quietly, almost in a whisper. Kabili quivered, staring at the sharpened point of the horn. The bear knew it would be wise for him to get out while he could, let the stupid horse have his treasure. But for some reason he felt torn between leaving, or fighting for the horde. His horde. No, he would not leave it. He could win the treasure, have it all for himself. Growling, Kabili bravely stared into the golden eyes of the Kirin. There he not only saw anger, but also an unhealthy obsession...
“ No. You can’t have. My precious.” With that, the bear dug his sharp black claws into the side of the Kirin’s face, and hurtled himself past the horse. He turned around, facing the horse and growled heavily. Kabili would not leave, and would fight. Borka’s eyes widened in shock, as he felt the pain from the deep wounds the bear had left on his cheek. Blood dripped down his striped faced, onto the cave floor. The trigger had been pulled, in a flash the Kirin spun around and charged full force at the bear. His eyes rolled back into his skull, ears pressed down hard against his head and he gave a mighty bellow as he reared up before the bear. Sharp hooves came crashing down, followed not by the sound of hoof on rock, but the sound of hoof on bone. A sickening crack echoed through the cave, followed by a pained roar from the bear. Borka reared up to strike again, but missed. While the fight continued, the rain had stopped outside and sunlight streamed through the hole. The entire battle was suddenly illuminated by starlight twinkles and multiple colors. Borka barely noticed, but the glint made him feel more powerful. He was driven into madness by his desire and need for shiny objects. The bear clawed at his sides, but failed to do any damage because of the Kirin’s scaled sides. Sharp teeth sunk into his foreleg, causing Borka to rear up, sending Kabili flying against a cave wall and crash into a pile of gems. He tried to get up, growling weakly now and cursing the stubborn thoughts. Of course he couldn’t win against a Kirin. The sound of hooves charging across stone echoed in Kabili’s ears, as a sharp pain entered his chest. He lost his breath, the world became dark and he felt himself fly across the cave and land on the cold stone floor. Kabili had now paid the ultimate price for being greedy and his last thought was wondering if the kirin too, would pay a price for being as greedy as he was. Borka slowly walked to the lifeless, beaten body of the bear. His own blood and his rival’s blood smeared across the cave. His tightened muscles relaxed abit, breathing heavily from the fight. The stallion had won the battle for his love. He had fought hard for her, and he had won. Pride filled him partially, but guilt also filled him as he stared at the bear. What had he done? The kirin had killed a pity little bear for a bunch of stones? No, he scolded himself. He had killed the bear to protect the love of his life. To protect his shinys. A thick pool of blood formed beside the bear, and it caught Borka’s eye. The dark red color seemed to glint and twinkle in the sunlight. It reminded him of the gems that he collected, that he loved. Blood, though not solid, was shiny like his precious gems...a desire suddenly placed itself inside the Kirin’s heart that showed itself in his golden orbs. If it was shiny...he had to have it. No matter the cost.
