Lai smiled at Johannes.
"It is quite all right. I guess I learn a little more about the compound every time I get lost."
When Moira spoke to him, he tilted his head, confused. "Frivolo?" He had never heard such a word before. What did it mean and why did she call him that? She was an odd woman alright.
"Well, at least I am not the only one."

"I've noticed that Mr. Sian tends to keep to himself." Moira said, smiling at Johannes. "I'm sure he's... decent with others. I'm just intimidated by my bosses." It was probably a familial trait. Her father could never work for others for long periods of time without getting into some sort of trouble. An inability to follow orders. Luckily, Moira didn't seem to have that much trouble following orders. It'd make things difficult for the agent, don't you think?
"Frivolo. It's Italian." She addressed both boys when she spoke again, nodding solemnly. "It means..." She frowned, furrowing her brow. "It is like..." Translating Italian to English was difficult for Moira, because she couldn't tell them Frivolo was a stray dog who Lai reminded her off, right? "It means skittish, I guess. You know. Timid, shy, wary of others." She looked at Lai. "You look like Frivolo to me." She smiled. Hopefully that would placate them. Or make Lai annoyed at her. Either or...

"Oh, interesting." "Hopefully, Lai here will feel comfortable enough with us to not be Frivolo, right?", smiled Johannes as he looked both to Lai and Moira.
Johannes was wondering where in the world was Lokiari. Bad enough that Lai, Moira and himself were kept waiting (although he was having a good time) without so much as perhaps, a little notice indicating where she was or what could they do in the meantime, but the food was all lain out, and he was worried that it might get spoilt.
He decided, "best not be wasteful."
He said "Would anyone like to start eating while Lokiari gets here, so that the food doesn't spoil?" "Or maybe we should wait a bit more?"

Lai blinked a couple of times as Moria explained what 'Frivolo' meant. Was he really that jittery? He smiled warily, not wanting to offend the woman on her nickname choice.
"I see. I did not know that. It is an interesting name and I guess it does suit me." He looked to Johannes. "I think I am well enough not to be around you two." He really hoped so.
Lai wondered where the woman who had summoned them here was. Was she always late? He could forgive that, he had company to keep him from getting bored, so no big rush. Really.
The Russian looked over to the tables of food. "I am not hungry, but if you want to I guess it would be okay. That is what it is there for right?"

((This RP will continue on without Adona/Moira, due to circumstances beyond our control. We now return you to our original broadcast))
Johannes smiled at Lai's comment. He knew that sometimes new places seemed scary, but in time they wouldn't be.
"Yes, you are right" answered Johannes as he went over to the table and took some biscuits. "I wonder what kind of tea is served here...." asked he as he was perusing the cups. "I've never really drinken any sort of tea before, except for black tea." He chuckled and looked over to Lai "You wouldn't be an expert on teas, by any chance?"

Lai watched the other man go and get himself something to eat, blue-gray eyes taking in the various things on the table for them all to sample. It did look good, but since he was not hungry he would not eat. Better to not force himself. Instead he nodded at Johannes reply as the man walked and got his food, his eye brows raising at the question.
"Well, Russians tend to have a fondness for tea, it is more popular in my country than coffee. Though I seem to be the minority who prefers coffee to tea, unless I am feeling under the weather." He gave a small, apologetic smile. "So I have to say 'no' to your query comrade. I apologize. Though if LOTUS has a library or place for research, I am sure you could find many a tome on tea flavors and their histories." He paused a moment before adding- "Though I do know I am not favorable to black tea, its taste is too strong for me."

"Oh, really?" "That's interesting to know." Johannes took some more biscuits and put them on a napkin, all the while listening to Lai speak. "Oh, that's fine." "Thank you anyway -- to each their own, ja?" He sat down on a chair near the table, looking at Lai: "Black tea strong?" "Well, I guess....I used to drink it when I was studying hard." "It calmed me, at least." "Now alcoholic drinks...." Johannes' voice trailed off as he shrugged his face a bit. "I'm not much of a drinker, but there are some potent ones out there."
"You sure you don't want any food?" He looked intently: "I feel a bit bad eating when you're not."

Lai smiled while Johannes talked, listening with rapt and polite attention. He nodded a 'you are welcome' as the man thanked him, keeping silent for the moment. His chair moved just a little as he shifted in his seat, turning to face the Austrian man at a better angle so they could talk relatively face to face. Lai nodded again as his companion questioned the strength of that particular brand of tea.
"Well, to me it is. I am sure it differs to every person; we are all unique after all and different people have different tastes." When the topic turned to alcoholic beverages, Lai's hand found its way up to the right side of his face, brushing some stray locks of his brown hair back behind his ear before falling slowly and placing back on his corresponding knee again. "I cannot consume alcohol, comrade. It makes me quite ill very quickly and that in itself is not very pleasant to experience." He never drank or ate foods prepared with alcohol, though that never stopped his older cousin from 'drugging' his food and beverages with vodka or some other colorless and relatively odorless hard drink. The man did it for a lark, to see his younger relations reactions and what exactly would happen when Lai drank. The end result was commonly, for him at least, feeling a tightening and/or churning in his stomach, fast paling, and the feeling of tingling beneath his tongue that signaled vomiting before the Russian man would bolt out of the room (usually outside to some bushes near the fence) and do just that. All of that while his man-child of a cousin roared with laughter on the porch.
"I am quite certain. Please do not feel bad comrade, for I am just not hungry at present. Better to let hunger come on its own than to force food down beforehand, lest I make myself ill that way." He smiled at Johannes. "Eat and enjoy yourself comrade, and please do not mind me."

"Agreed" commented Johannes on the different tastes part. That much he could identify with it personally at times.
"Ohh? You cannot consume alcohol?" Johannes found this interesting, if only for the fact that it'd make Lai sick. Alcohol does make one sick if one decides to consume it in overly exagerrated quantity. That much would be obvious. But...Johannes wasn't sure what to think either way. Was Lai a light drinker, or didn't he just not drink in general? He doesn't seem to fit the normal drinker type.
Then again, Johannes thought, Europeans were partially known for their...somewhat 'free' view of drinking, especially when you consider certain respective countries. What did Russians drink in uh, Russia? Johannes didn't really pay attention to where it came from (though his brother probably said it to him while forcing drinks), just the fact about whether the alcohol was going to kill, or taste good. Still, it was a mystery, the way Lai talked about.
"Well, if drinking alcohol makes you uncomfortable, then that is fine." He smiled: "Like you said, we all have different tastes. I won't ask any questions about that."
"So, tell me, what do you like to do normally?" "Your hobbies." Johannes took another bite of his biscuits in the meantime.
