"Probably a lot." She wiggled and 'eep'ed a couple more times, then flopped flat on her belly on the sand when he stopped poking her, panting. She finally took a good look at her new playmate's face, and tilted her head quizzically. "I've never seen someone with only one eye before, it looks funny!" She said the obvious with kitten-like honesty, not really realizing that it could be insulting or a touchy spot.
"My name's Hilfy, what's yours?" She smiled amicably, always happy to make friends.

Kimi kept smiling, even when she commented on the eye patch, though his expression was a bit surprised. "Funny? I guess it's been a while since I've looked at myself... But believe me, it's better that I keep it covered! My Da has one eye too, and one leg in front." He flopped a wrist at her, "The other one is made of wood!"
He raised a paw to his patch then, to make sure it was in place, he usually never thought of it, but wanted to be sure his empty eye was covered. "Oh, you can call me Kimihiro, Hilfy." Once he was sure it was on tight, he dropped his paws back to the sand and shuffled a little.

"Heheheh, a wooden leg? That's awesome!" Hilfy purred and crossed her front paws under her chin, resting her head on them as she sprawled comfortably out on the still-cool sand. "And not bad-funny, the cool-funny kind." She nodded, flicking her ears. "Kimihiro... that's a nice name, I think. I like it!" She waved her tail behind herself absently, stirring the grass slightly. "So, what do you like to do, Kimi?" She shortened his name deliberately, smiling broadly."

"He's an adventurer! Before he met Ma he got into lots of exciting things, and met lots of people, and Draco and fairies and unicorns!" Kimi didn't usually get a chance to retell the stories, so he embellished a bit. "Eh? Oh, umm thanks..." He didn't know what to say, but he grinned more at her shortening it, Ren, his sister did the same so he was quite used to it. "Umm, well, usually I play with my sisters, or listen to Da's stories, or seek out adventures too. I meet a Draco myself once, I think... I like, umm, well games and stuff..." He finished lamely, with the mention of Ren he worried what she would think, but it was okay right? She also had other friends...

"An adventurer? That's so awesome, Kimi!" Hilfy almost wiggled in excitement. "I wish I had someone cool like that around, it sounds really fun! I've never gone on an adventure either, maybe I'll find one someday, who knows?" She grinned, her ears perking out humorously to the sides.
"What kind of games do you play?" she asked, curiously. I play with leaves sometimes, and I like to chase around the little mice I sometimes find in the grass, they can run and hide really good!"

"Well, we could go and see him, sometime, if you wanted to. But we can find adventure around here," He looked around pointedly, "Er, maybe? Maybe not a Draco, though Da says they like the beach!" Kimi was torn between wanting to make Hilfy happy, and showing off a bit, and also keeping her away from his home. He was usually very relaxed and apt to let other lead, so he sat back and thought a little before answering, "Well, Chase, Tag, Hide and Seek, stuff like that. Mice are good hiders, they bite though, if you corner them..."

Hilfy wiggled her nose ruefully. "Now someone tells me, I coulda' really used that little bit of information a while back. You know, before the first mouse I poked at bit me on the nose!" She giggled, making a mock swatting motion with her little paw. "That one got away, but I think I ate his brother later."
"Ooooo, do you really think we can find an adventure around here, Kimi?" She bounced to her paws, ears twitching. "That sounds like a lot of fun to me!"

"Ah~ I guess that's something we have to learn on our own, that or maybe there's a ulaya eating mouse out there!" He lifts one paw and spreads his toes, showing off a little scar there. "One got me on my toe, I've never been very good at hunting..." He put his paw down again and nodded, his curled tail wagging.
"Sure I do! The beach and the forest back there, full of things to get into, just depends on what'cha wanna find!"

"Ooooo, you think there might be?" Hilfy grinned, showing her teeth and flexing her claws. "Now THAT would be a much more fun mouse to chase! It's no fun getting your paw bit, though, I really hate having hurt paws, I can't be quiet at all when I'm limping." She flicked her ears, as though discarding the thought, and smiled again. "Don't worry about hunting, if we meet that ulaya-eating mouse, I'll eat it first!"
She looked over at the forest, then at the beach, and reached out to poke Kimihiro on the nose. "You're the adventurer, show me where to go, O fearless leader!" She grinned at him and laughed good-naturedly.

Kimi laughed a little, and shook his head he hoped that the mouse that had gotten him, and the mouse that had gotten her were not the same mouse, indeed that would be a vicious little rodent, going after creatures more than a hundred times its size. "I hope so, I wouldn't want to have to avenge you and have to fight a rodent like that, imagine how big it would have grown!"
Kimi chuckled at her poking his nose, but he faulted a little, he was so used to just following, she wanted him to pick? "Umm umm, how about in the forest then?" His line of thought was there was more to see and track in the woods than on the beach, plus in the green lit shade, she might like that better, for practicing her tracking, though again, she was already very good at it.

"Yikes, if it was THAT big, I think I'd use something someone told me a long time ago. 'She who fights and runs away...'" She smiled, holding up a paw and its kitten's sharp, hooked claws. "But I don't think they make a mouse that we can't eat, 'specially if we both jump it at once!"
She turned to look over at the woods, nodding approvingly. "I like trees, there's lots of stuff to hide in, and lots of things to chase! So, do you want to go see if we can find an adventure?" She purred and bounced on her toes excitedly. "Who knows, maybe we'll even meet some cool people and find some treasure!"

"Lives to fight another day?" This was the same advice his father had given to him, because of his eye, and his uneven gait, Tsu knew his boy wouldn't best many in a fight, but Kimi wasn't much of a fighter anyway. "No I suppose they only come in 'extra large' in the stories. I think an extra set of claws would be welcome thought, in that sort of fight."
He followed her gaze to the trees, and nodding his approval, "Lead the way, Hilfy?"

"Yup, and it's good advice too. Never fight if you don't have to, and always fight to win!" She chuckled. "Having a friend along makes it a lot easier too, that whole one-on-one macho fighting thing is a good way to get your tail thrashed. Who knows, though, maybe we'll find something neat!"
She smiled and started towards the forest, looking back over her shoulder at Kimi. "You should try being sneaky some time, it's not really hard, and can be a lot of fun too!"

"I like that, never fight if you don't have to... I practice being sneaky every time I hunt, but it is very hard, I bump into things without realizing and before I know it I'm making noise when I stumble. It isn't all that bad though, I have gotten better." Kimi followed after her, and now that they were on the move his stride even but his gait was wobbling, he had wobbled since he was a very small kit, he didn't know why, his parents and sibling were all steady on their feet, but at least it had gotten less pronounced as he had grown, he had gotten much better that he didn't need to lean on someone to stay upright, moving on sand and running was also easier now too, which is one of the reasons he liked the beach so much, he continued to follows across the sand, weaving through the dune grass.
