Felix B. Hellsings Kiyokaze Personally I don't care how an animes drawn as long as I like it. ^^ And that's true, For some reason though I liked Bloodlust better than the third novel. xD
I find it funny that Hideyuki doesn't like anime much, but it's become two anime movies and now the mangas. xD Yeah, I liked Bloodlust better then the third novel if only because of its story change. The novel was...I read the novel after seeing the movie and was distrubed. Greatly. Poor Poor Leila.
Actually, it might be three movies. I think Hideyuki was saying he'd like to see Journey to the North Sea as a movie which I think would be damned awesome since those two were my favorite books. I was actually iffy about the manga but I'm liking it, a friend of mine asked why I bought the manga when I have the novels and the movies and I told her you can never have enough D to read, EVER!You know I think I read that somewhere before, and I hope that it does become a movie. I loved those books as well. I felt sorry for D in the North sea part 2 book. After the priest guy gave the boy his flute and he just shoves it back at D. D=
I know right! I bought the mangas because well, it's D in picture form! I know I can't resist that.

(btw that was the first book!) I read that (about the movie) both online and I believe in the authors commentary part at the end of one of the books. I love reading what Hideyuki has to say because he has got to be my hero! and knowing what's he's got planned next is exciting. I bought his other books too.

Yes it's very interesting to read the commentary, I love how he tells us what movies he was watching. xD

I liked both of them, but I prefer the new movie, mainly for the athmosphere. The story of the new movie is also more complicated, and there are very cool characters as Meyer. As I said in the Welcome post, unfortunately I haven't read any of the novel because in Italy is nearly impossible to find them, and so i can't make any comparison with the books.

I was thinking about it and had to look and realized I put my foot in my mouth, lol. So much happens in those two books that its hard to tell in which book the even happens. Disareen: Italy! sweetness. Have you tried Amazon.com or some online bookstore? If thats a no go, I'm sure when you do find the books it'll be the greatest day ever! ^.^

I haven't try before because even I usually read tons of books in my native language, I have still problems reading long text in english. Two or three years ago i tried to read a Magic The Gathering novel in his original language but I gived up after 5 pages... this year I read longer parts of D&D manuals because I needed them for a browser rpg, and one of the reason for my presence on Gaia is practising english. Well, I'll try and I'll let you see!

Just both, i like the animation of Bloodlust better, however the parasite in the first was alot more... well he had more personality and his little voice was great. Plus D's blue outfit was pretty cool, though his black one was better.

I like them both, too. But out of the two, the second is my favorite (although I saw the first one well, first. Gotta thank my friend for introducing me to the series and telling me to get both).
The first one was very good, in terms of story n what not. Also taking into account when it was made, it was very good for its time. But when I saw Bloodlust...it just blew me away. It was so gorgeous and still remains one of my favorite movies. I also happen to think it's one of the most visually appealing anime movies ever. But the voice acting was also very good for the film. That's why I say Bloodlust is better. Plus if you're trying to get someone into anime, it would be easier to introduce them to Bloodlust first before getting them to like a classic.

I like them both also, but I still think the original is my favorite. But I know what Prince Vamp D means... the hand is much much better in the first one. He seems to have more of a personality. I have not read the books... yet!!... so I can't compare them, but when I do I will let you know.

This is hard for me. One I LOVE old school anime.
HOWEVER, the new style of D was really well done, I loved his new outfit, and his new steed.
So I'd, unfortunately, have to go with Both equally.

What I have shown you is reality... Right now I can only say that I like the new one, mostly because I've only seen clips of the older one but not the whole thing. Old school anime just feels so....80's to me. razz What you remember... that is the illusion.

Old school anime is the best though!! lol
Leaving the crazy style of art aside you have to admit, the story lines of the old school anime era are a lot better than the garbage they come out with now a days xD

Mmmm you have catching up to do then. They are good, the manga follows them well, but for me it lacks something. So i read the books first than read the Manga. Of course thats not particularly hard when here in the US book 1-10 is out and only 1-2 of the manga is out. ^^
